Chapter 57: Melting
Lysia and Bane left the restaurant, and began walking again, but this time Bane took her hand without prompt. He understood why she was acting like this now, and he also wanted to make the most of their time together. With that in mind Bane let Lysia lead him as he pondered on something cute the two of them could do, but after about ten minutes, they stopped.
Bane looked up, and then realized that they were back at the training hall, which was also Lysia's home. "Hmm? Why are we back here?"
Lysia let go of Bane's hand, and then pointed at the building. "I seem to remember that someone said they could come close to matching me earlier today, yes?" She asked, and Bane looked around.
"Weird, I don't see anyone around that would be that stupid," Bane said with a shrug, but Lysia was suddenly in front of him.
Before Bane could react, Lysia grabbed him, and tossed him in the building. Before he could hit a wall, Lysia was there to catch him, and throw him down to more halls before he went flying out onto the center of the training grounds. Everyone that was there turned to see what it was, but Lysia reached Bane at that moment and started striking at him.
For the people around them, Lysia's body with no arms weaved at Bane while he looked like he was doing stretches in every direction. They could not see Lysia's attacks, but they could hear them, and the sound of air snapping from the mini-sonic booms filled the area.
"Stop showing off and fight back, you lazy little brat!" Lysia growled, but Bane only laughed.
"Not even fair! I just ate, woman! Now I am trying to get in my stretch!" Bane laughed merrily, but he did start moving around, and dodging.
The two of them clashed, but this time the people watching could see something. Every time that Lysia and Bane collided, there was an explosion of light and force, which made their hair fly up in all directions in a display like nothing any of the villagers training they had ever seen. The power displayed was that of a godlike standard, and everyone could only stand by, watching the two of them move around.
Lysia doubled her efforts, and caught Bane off guard, swiping his feet out, and then turning to aim another kick into his core. Bane grinned, twisting his body around, and catching the elf's leg. "My turn!" He yelled, and twisted his body around, launching her towards the wall, but Lysia flipped around and landed on her feet, sliding a bit before coming to a stop, but Bane was on her like the white on rice.
The boy was already there, and he sent his foot into her side, which she blocked with her elbow, but the impact still pushed her a few feet away. They clashed a few more times, but Bane was starting to notice a problem. Lysia's speed was too fast, and her strength was too great for him to take the hits head on, yet, she could block his own strikes. Something needed to change, or the fight was going to be over very fast for Bane.
'I'm too slow, and my body is still too weak, even after training this long,' Bane thought, but then a smile appeared on his face, and he jumped back, slapping his hand to his chest and then turning clockwise, and whispered. "Timeless Glace, Temporal Refresh."
Both Lysia and him froze in place like time had stopped, but everyone else around them was still able to move. Bane's five year old body started to grow older into a version of him that was exactly like he was in his twenties. Before Lysia could enjoy the sight in front of her, Bane vanished, and then appeared behind her.
"I use Absolute Defense, and then Frost Imperium, check mate," Bane whispered in her ears, sending a chill through Lysia's body like she had never felt before, and she melted in his arms.
"I concede," She said softly, and then Bane's body shrunk back down.
"I was getting really tired," Bane commented, and then let Lysia go.
The two of them stood up straight, and then they turned to look at the people staring at them. "What?"
Everyone snapped back to what they were doing, and went back to their training, while a few others began whispering among themselves. Lysia turned to Bane, and frowned. "Did you just use two Forbidden Arcane Time Dilatation spells as if they were a normal spell?"
Bane shrugged, and nodded his head. "Meh, that is like my final move or something, but it only let's me control a copy of my body ten years into the future for five seconds. Good right now, but not as effective later on down the road."
"I'm sorry, but didn't you say that you can't use magic?" Lysia demanded, but Bane wiggled his hand.
"I cast both on my body, and within my body. The spells were just part of what I learned from inside my head, but they are among the few I can actually use right now. Even if I could use magic outside of my body, Time Dilation magics mostly affect the entire world, which would alert Guardian in a heartbeat," Bane explained, and the elf shook her head.
"What are you planning to do for the rest of the day?" She asked, and Bane smiled.
"I assumed that you wanted to abuse me some more, but just know that I won't be able to beat you. I was only able to win because of my spell, but it used almost every drop of mana that I had and demonic energy. I kind of feel a bit rubbery too, but I am not sure if that is a side effect from using the spell. I hadn't tried the spell before now, but I know it should take a toll on my body," Bane explained, and his body did feel fine, albeit a bit wobbly for some reason.
