The Married Life Of Immortals

Chapter 56: I Am The Champion!

"So, what will you have, and is this your first time here?" Stella asked, and Bane nodded his head.

"Yeah, this is actually my first time eating at any of the restaurants in this village since I showed up here just over a month ago," Bane admitted, and Stella smiled warmly.

"Don't worry, we will take good care of you! Since you are new, I will bring you two of our most famous appetizers on the house, and then we can decide on the rest, okay?" She said, and Bane nodded.

After Stella left, Bane leaned forward, and grinned. "She seems like a good person" He commented, and Lysia nodded.

"She only took this place over from her mother a few years ago, but she does a great job of running the place. She will probably make the food herself since I introduced her to you. You should be prepared to eat some large portions," Lysia warned, but Bane gave her a thumbs up.

"I was stuck inside my head for that entire time, and converting energy takes a lot out of me. I will accept anything she puts in front of me and eat it all! I am starving!" Bane cheered, and Lysia shook her head with a small smile.

The two of them talked about the upcoming training that Lysia would be putting him through in the evenings until Stella returned with the appetizers. "These are a pair of my favorites, and a staple of the restaurant. Enjoy," She said and placed the large plates in front of them.

On the first plate was a pair of large bowls filled with soup and topped with some sort of bread. The two of them took their spoons, and tried the soup, and they both paused.

"Holy crap!" Bane gasped as the delicious and creamy soup hit his tongue.

"This soup is always good," Lysia added with a nod and continued eating.

Stella giggled and watched the two of them eat with smiles on their faces. "That is my grandmother's recipe, and no one else in the family is allowed to use it. Now, the other one is a favorite among my more adventurous guests, and is made with bacon wrapping special peppers and a cream sauce.

"This is freaking great!" Bane groaned after taking a bite, but then his eyes grew big as the spice of the peppers hit his tongue. "Hot, hot, hot, hot!"

Stella handed Bane his glass of water, and laughed as the young man chugged it. "I forgot to warn you, that is pretty spicy," She apologized. "Now, since Lysia is just getting her normal dish, why don't you let me cook you up a few dishes for you to try?"

Bane stopped as he was reaching for another pepper, and looked up at Stella. "I mean, sure, but are you sure? Is it okay to give away so much food?"

"Give away? No, my family owes Lysia much more than a few plates of food. If not for her, then I would not be here today to make these meals! If there is one family tradition in this restaurant, it is to always treat Lysia whenever she comes to the restaurant, but she always forces us to let her pay. You, on the other hand, are a guest of hers, so I can pawn my thanks onto you!" Stella laughed, and Bane gave her a thumbs up like he had with Lysia.

"Do your worst!" The small boy grinned, and grabbed another bacon wrapped pepper, stuffing it in his mouth.

Lysia rolled her eyes as Stella went back into the kitchen and got back to her soup. She ate slowly and neatly, and Bane watched her, feeling a strange sense of nostalgia, even though he hadn't experienced this before.

"Hey, Lysia, when this is all over, do you want to go and travel together?" Bane asked, and the elf looked at him.

"Are you planning to travel to all of the nine realms? Or one of the many kingdoms all over the world?" She asked, and Bane shrugged.

"I will have to visit them all on my own while I am gone, but that will just make me the best tour guide when we do go. If we are going to live forever, we will probably end up visiting them all more than a few times. There will also be my home world, since it is more than likely going to become part of this world at some point," Bane explained, and Lysia frowned.

"What was it like for you? In your old life?" She asked, and Bane froze with a pepper in his hand that he was about to put in his mouth.

The boy looked at the food in his hand, and then thought about his days in back alley's of Neo-Tokyo. Life had always been so fast paced that the only memories that stuck in Bane's mind were the times he had been almost killed, and how hungry he had always been. Not just for food, but also power.

"It was lonely, but fast paced. I had a lot of people trying to kill me, and the only way to survive was to get stronger. I was constantly on the move, and only able to sleep when I was completely sure no one was going to find me..." Bane explained, then paused for a moment to think about his old life. "This new life has been relaxing to say the least, even with the hellish training. I had a lot of time to think during the 50 years in my head, but it was mostly relaxing. The entire time I sat either absorbing information, or practicing all the special things Onyx stored in my head, but it was calm. It was almost like reliving my last life, but at a slow pace, taking my time with everything."

Lysia nodded, her expression neutral. "I'm glad."

Bane looked at her and smiled. "Don't worry, even if this life is slower, and I have some more time to think, that doesn't mean that I will be going easy on myself. Now that I have the time, I want to become unstoppable at everything I do so I can deal with absolutely anything that comes my way without even a second thought."

"And why would you go that far?" Lysia asked, a small smile tugging at the corner of her mouth and Bane shrugged.

"I have a wife that will be tapping her foot waiting for me. What reason do I need to give it everything I have?" He asked, and She blushed, and looked away, pulling at her lips to cover the smile she had.

The two of them sat in silence until the food came out. Stella brought out Lysia's dish first. It was a steak with a few steamed vegetables, and was placed in front of the elf. "Here is your usual, and I made sure to use the best cut of beef we had," Stella said, and Lysia thanked her.

After that, a parade of food was brought out, and the two of them dug into the food, trying their best to enjoy it. When it was all over, Lysia and Bane were stuffed, but Bane felt like he had eaten his body weight in food. Stella had not stopped and made several more trips back out to their table during the meal. The small boy had not backed down, but his clothing looked much too small on him now with his distended stomach.

"Oh, gods, I feel like I am going to pop!" Bane complained, holding his stomach and Stella giggled.

"I had no idea that such a small child could eat so much, and look, you ate all the dishes I brought out!"

"I am the champion!" Bane weakly cheered, but then let out a fart that caused the entire restaurant to go silent, making everyone in the place look at him.

Lysia face palmed and Stella held a hand over her mouth, and they both started to laugh. "You had better not be like that in bed tonight!" Lysia said, and Bane turned beat red, but then he ripped ass again, causing them to laugh even harder.

Stella wiped a tear from her eye, and sighed. "Ah, that was good. Now, let's get this cleaned up, and you can go and enjoy the rest of the day.
