The Married Life Of Immortals

Chapter 55: The Shattered Plate

After the two of them left, Bane walked beside Lysia, still holding her hand, even though he wanted to let go. Everyone around them was staring, and it was just weird for Bane since they were all in kids' bodies. He had already tried letting go of her hand, but she just grabbed it and glared at him, so Bane gave up as Lysia dragged him to a restaurant called the Shattered Plate.

"Oh? We are going to eat?" Bane asked, and Lysia rolled her eyes, making Bane want to push her again. "I meant that I am still broke."

"I know that, so I will be paying, or why do you think I would have brought us here," Lysia growled, pulling Bane over to a table.

Thankfully for him, she let him sit across from her, and let go of his hand. Something like this wouldn't bother him normally, but everyone on the streets had been staring at them like they were some kind of freak show. Little did Bane know it was because they were all surprised that Lysia had gotten close to him. Everyone in the Village knew about the elf's cold exterior, and habit of pushing everyone away from her, so it was a strange sight for everyone.

"Do you come here often?" Bane asked as they waited for a waiter, and Lysia nodded.

"This is the place that I have been coming to since I first arrived in this village. I knew the first owner, and the current one would be her 23rd generation... Time does fly," She said, and then looked into my eyes. "Are you sure that you are going to be able to be in the dungeon for all that time? 12000 years is an enormous amount of time to pass, and you're not a typically long lived race. Don't you think that being stuck in the dungeon that entire time will have negative effects on your mind?"

Bane nodded, and then turned to look out the window. "Sure it is going to suck, but I promise that I won't be alone. I already have proven that I can form contracts with monsters, and even if I lose all my current monsters, I will just contract more. Stop making such a big deal about this because I am not worried," He sighed, and then groaned. "I am more concerned about you continuously making up the rules for our relationship! When were you going to tell me you wanted to get married?! Aren't I supposed to propose to you, and then we plan it?!"

Lysia's ears reddened, and she looked away. "Well, I figured that you would take forever. You already said you were okay with it, so what is the big deal?"

"And what next? Are you going to start poking holes in my condoms when you want kids?" Bane asked with narrowed eyes.

"What is a condom? And who said anything about kids? We both have terrible personalities, so our kids would more than likely be monsters," Lysia stated, but then shook her head. "Never mind that, and stop being so obstinate. You have bigger things to worry about, like your training. I brought you to this place because the owner has special skills passed down from the owner. They are very secretive about it, so you should try to make friends with the owner."

Bane nodded. "Fine, I will leave it for now. What makes this place so good? Does the owner make good food, or are they famous for their drinks? Or is the skill not something to do with food?"

Lysia raised an eyebrow. "Why do you think skill is related to food?"

Bane shrugged. "We are in a restaurant, so I figured it might be the case."

Lysia shook her head and clicked her tongue at Bane, but that was when a small boy in a waiter outfit came over carrying a short stool and menus. The boy put the stool by the table, and climbed on it, and placed the menus in front of them.

"Welcome to the Shattered Plate," the boy said in a polite and practiced voice as he started to pour water for both of them. "I am Tyson, and I will be your server today. It is good to have you back, Madam Lysia. Will you be having the usual, or would you like to see our menu?"

Lysia nodded. "I will have the same as usual," She said, and then looked at Bane who was drinking the freshly poured water. "My life partner will need time to look over the menu.

"L-Life partner?!" Tyson asked with shock, and Bane spit out his water.

"Yes, well, not yet, but soon. Anyways, tell Stella that I would like for her to come out to chat when she is free. I would like her to meet Bane, my life partner-to-be," Lysia said in a carefree attitude while Bane glared at her, wiping up the water he had spit out with a napkin.

Tyson nodded, still wearing his surprised expression and then ran off without even bothering to take his stool. Bane just shook his head as he looked at Lysia and pointed his finger at her, but she just shrugged.

"What? Are you really going to get mad at me for wanting to enjoy this? Or do you not want to tell people that you are going to be my life partner?" She challenged, and Bane let out a sigh.

"It is just weird seeing you as a kid tell other kids we are getting married. Can you see the irony in this?" Bane asked, and Lysia laughed.

"Yeah, but this is going to be one of the few times that we can have fun. After this, you are going to have your hands full, and I will be busy learning how to fight, so let's just have a little bit of fun while we can," She said with a grin.

Bane smiled and nodded, looking out the window. "I will miss this."

Lysia was about to say something, but then someone walked up. They turned to see a small girl with curly blonde hair standing on the stool with a large smile on her face.

"Madam Lysia, I haven't seen you in such a long time, and it is so nice to meet a friend of yours, or should I say, life partner? Oh, if Grandma Regina could see you now, just imagine how much she would be fawning over you! Tyson said he is a to-be, right?" Stella, the current owner of the Shattered Plate asked in an energetic manner.

Bane felt a vein pop in his forehead. 'Just what the hell is up with these people?' He thought, but then he looked at Lysia, and noticed her smile. He relaxed, and leaned back as the women began to talk, and just enjoyed the sight. While this might be an awkward situation for himself, he couldn't deny how cute Lysia looked when she wasn't frowning, or getting mad about something.
