Chapter 63: The Blood Wolf King
In the main hall, a roaring charcoal fire burned, making the room warm as spring. Qi Bei sat at the head, with Jin Gang and Huan Ying, the brother and sister, standing behind him. Meanwhile, Iron Head, Lie Feng, and Lone Eye were at the bottom. In the center, Fire Wolf lay unconscious on the ground, tightly bound by hand and foot.
“Lord, let’s storm into the Blood Wolves headquarters and chop off the Blood Wolf King’s head! Who dares to oppose you then?” Iron Head shouted loudly.
“Shut up! Do you know how many brothers we will lose if we do that recklessly? We only have so many people. Losing even one is like losing a part of ourselves,” Qi Bei shouted back.
Iron Head lowered his head and didn’t speak anymore.
“Killing the Blood Wolf King isn’t difficult. He’s just a King-grade expert. The key is how to maintain control of the situation after his death,” Qi Bei’s eyes flickered as he glanced over the unconscious Fire Wolf with some hesitation.
After a short while, Qi Bei’s eyes became resolute. He couldn’t worry about that anymore. He had been considering whether the Goth Princess was just pretending to be a merchant while secretly colluding with the Blood Wolf King, who may have had the support of some other power.
So, he had planned to pose as the Goth merchant caravan to investigate the Blood Wolves’ secrets, find the Star Master of Starfall, and work with Starfall to uproot the Blood Wolves’ power in West Spirit City before turning against Shadow Clan.
But since unexpected circumstances had arisen, he had to change his plans. Moreover, if he continued to cooperate with Starfall like this, he was afraid that he would eventually end up sharing control of West Spirit City with them. At that time, dealing with Starfall would be much more difficult.
“Wake up this Fire Wolf guy…” Qi Bei said lightly.
A basin of cold water was poured over Fire Wolf’s head, causing him to shiver and open his eyes. After looking at Qi Bei and the others, his expression became ferocious, and his wolf-like eyes flashed with a fierce light as he roared, “You have a lot of guts! You are finished! We Blood Wolves will definitely tear you into pieces!”
Jin Gang stepped out from behind Qi Bei, and with a sweeping motion from his huge hand, slapped Fire Wolf hard.
“Crack!” Fire Wolf was slapped away, spitting out a mouthful of blood and a few sharp wolf teeth. His face was full of resentment, but he was slapped awake by Jin Gang. His life was now in the hands of Qi Bei, and if he continued to be ruthless, he would only harm himself.
“Under the Blood Wolf King, there are five Wolf Generals. It is said that you, Fire Wolf, are the weakest and are often ridiculed by the other four Wolf Generals,” Qi Bei said calmly.
Fire Wolf’s cheek twitched and his eyes showed more anger and humiliation.
“Now, I’ll give you a chance, a chance to become the Wolf King. It’s up to you to seize it,” Qi Bei said, tapping the back of his chair.
“Who are you?” Fire Wolf asked. Many beastmen weren’t very intelligent, but that didn’t include werewolves, who were known for their ferocity and cunning.
“Qi Bei Nord, the owner of this West Spirit City. You must have heard of me,” Qi Bei stood up and looked down at Fire Wolf.
Fire Wolf’s pupils contracted and he stared at Qi Bei, but he couldn’t speak for a while.
“Cooperate with me, and you will become the new generation of Wolf King. Those who looked down on you before will all follow your lead. You can also refuse, and I’ll just choose someone else,” Qi Bei stared at Fire Wolf and a hint of golden light appeared in his pupils.
Fire Wolf felt a burning pain in his eyes, and a terrifying pressure bore down on him, making him feel like his heart had stopped beating.
Although the aura was weak, it made Fire Wolf’s soul tremble, and instantly made him feel so humble that he couldn’t even resist.
“I’m willing,” Fire Wolf blurted out. As soon as he spoke, all his worries and fears were completely forgotten, replaced by excitement and enthusiasm. Sometimes, a person’s transformation of the heart was so easy.
Qi Bei reached out and tapped a point on Fire Wolf’s forehead, injecting a strand of golden internal energy into him.
“I already have a dog that bites people, now I need a wolf that eats people,” Qi Bei snapped his fingers and released Fire Wolf from his restraints.
Fire Wolf snarled, his eyes flashing with frightening ferocity.
………
The Blood Wolf King owned an ancient castle near the West Spirit City, which was hidden in a forest and was very secluded.
At this time, snow was still falling, and outside the forest, more than two hundred Black-Armored soldiers were silently hiding in the thick snow.
Fire Wolf led Qi Bei and Jin Gang toward the castle.
“This castle is not bad. It will be my mansion in the future,” Qi Bei said, seeing the castle for the first time and already considering it his own.
The castle was guarded by over three hundred wolf guards, but when they saw Fire Wolf, no one came forward to question him. It seemed that the five Wolf Generals had the freedom to enter and leave the castle as they please.
Entering the castle, Qi Bei felt a bit eerie because all the windows were sealed, leaving only a few dim magical lights. Fire Wolf led Qi Bei up the stairs inside the castle and arrived at the door of the room on the far right.
The door was a double door made entirely of shining gold, with a wolf head carved from blood jade in the center of the door knocker.
“Bang bang bang” Fire Wolf pulled the door knocker and rapped on the door with it.
“Come in.” A deep voice came from inside.
Fire Wolf pushed hard, and the heavy door slowly opened on both sides.
This was a room with no decorations, with uneven walls all around. A burly man with dark-red hair sat cross-legged on the ground with a huge hammer that shimmered with a faint bloody light by his side.
Fire Wolf lowered his eyelids, hiding his nervousness.
“Fire Wolf, you can leave.” Blood Wolf King suddenly spoke.
Fire Wolf was stunned, and Qi Bei’s eyes flashed with a strange light.
Qi Bei gestured to Fire Wolf to leave.
“Yes, Your Majesty.” Fire Wolf respectfully said, then stepped back, and the gold door closed on its own.
The Blood Wolf King stood up, towering half a head taller than a gorilla, giving people a tremendous sense of oppression. He slowly turned around, revealing a rugged face with a pair of deep-red eyes that seemed to bring people into a surging sea of blood at first glance.
The Blood Wolf King glanced at Qi Bei and furrowed his thick eyebrows, “Why are you alone? Wasn’t there also your Princess?”
Qi Bei’s mind raced, and he slowly said, “The Princess is slightly ill, so I came to check on things first.”
“You don’t trust this king?” The Blood Wolf King snorted.
Upon hearing this, Qi Bei finally grasped the general situation.
It turned out that the Goth Princess nor her servant had ever met the Blood Wolf King before. This time they came to West Spirit City, and as he had suspected earlier, they had deeper trading secrets with the Blood Wolf King. Fortunately, he was disguised as a Goth, so the Blood Wolf King didn’t suspect his identity.
“It’s our first meeting, what’s there to trust or not to trust? We only believe in substantial things.” Qi Bei said ambiguously.
