Chapter 62: Fire Wolf
The vast West Spirit City appeared to be very empty and desolate, with only a few pedestrians on the streets and shops on both sides tightly closed.
With such a heavy snowstorm, it’s no wonder that no one wants to come out and suffer. However, the inns, brothels and restaurants in the city were still packed with guests and had a lively atmosphere.
Qi Bei and his companions were heading towards the Blood Wolves Headquarters in the west of the city, as the three Goth merchants they spared earlier claimed that with their trading contract, they would receive a warm reception from the Blood Wolves.
In such a heavy snowstorm, it was likely that every restaurant and inn in West Spirit City was already full. However, going to the Blood Wolves Headquarters, someone else will have arranged their accommodations for them.
The Blood Wolves Headquarters was a five-story building, painted entirely in blood-red paint. In the center, a huge wolf head statue was embedded, with its mouth wide open and sharp teeth exposed. Its wolf eyes were filled with a fierce bloodthirsty light.
Qi Bei held the soft hand of Huan Ying and walked into the Blood Wolves Headquarters with Lie Feng and Iron Head.
The first floor of the Blood Wolves Headquarters was the reception hall, but it was painted with twisted totems, which felt somewhat oppressive. There were guards in Blood Wolves cloaks in the hall, most of whom were werewolves. Although they looked like humans, the wolf features on their heads was very obvious, such as their large mouths, sharp wolf teeth, and rough wolf hair on their faces. These were low-level werewolves.
In fact, this was normal, as the Blood Wolf King who ruled over the Blood Wolves was the leader of the werewolf tribe in the Orc Empire, so naturally there were more werewolves from his tribe in the Blood Wolves.
These wolf guards had fierce appearances, but they were also kind to people. When Qi Bei presented the trading contract with the Blood Wolves, one of the wolf guards went upstairs to inform them.
Not long after, a tall and big werewolf, yawning, walked down the stairs.
This was obviously an advanced werewolf, with a face that was basically no different from that of a human, with a circle of coarse and fiery red hair around his neck like flames.
“I am Fire Wolf. You arrived here at a bad time. The fifteen inns of our Blood Wolves in the city are all full. How about this? I have a henchman who has a spacious courtyard. I will take you there and you can stay there for now.” Fire Wolf’s tone was also quite friendly, but his deep eyes carefully scrutinized Qi Bei and Huan Ying who were disguised as a Gothic couple.
“Well, thank you. With this weather, we are satisfied as long as we have a place to stay.” Qi Bei smiled calmly.
………
“Be gentle, Ling’er.” Du Shou winced in pain as a pretty girl in front of him applied the medicine to his wounds.
“Do you know it hurts? Do you know that if you keep causing trouble everywhere, you will lose your life one day?” Despite nagging, the girl’s eyes showed a trace of tenderness.
After a while, the girl finished applying medicine for Du Shou and picked up the medicine bowl to leave.
“Ling’er, um… what do you think about that matter?” Du Shou asked, his neck shrunk and his feet tensed, ready to run away at any time.
Without hesitation, the girl called Ling’er directly threw the medicine bowl at Du Shou, her eyes filled with tears.
“Du Shou, are you still a human being? Am I even your real sister? Is there such a brother who would push his sister into a pit of fire with his own hands?” As she spoke, Ling’er picked up everything she could get her hands on and threw them at Du Shou.
“Ling’er, listen to me, I’m doing this for your own good. What’s the position of General Fire Wolf among the Blood Wolves? He’s not bad-looking, and he likes you. If you follow him, you’ll live like a queen. And I, your brother will also be successful. What’s wrong with that?” Du Shou dodged and still persuaded her.
“Ah…” Ling’er screamed, scaring Du Shou, who froze for a moment and was hit on the head by a flower vase.
“Just because I don’t want to, if you force me again, I will die right in front of you,” Ling’er said word by word, her pure and beautiful face showing determination.
“Don’t… Ling’er, I won’t say it again, okay?” Du Shou’s heart was pounding. He knew how stubborn his sister was, but he didn’t understand why she wouldn’t accept such a good thing that benefited everyone.
Just then, the gate of Du Shou’s courtyard was kicked open with a loud “bang.”
“Who the hell is tired of living and dares to kick my door?…” Du Shou rushed out cursing.
But when he saw who was leading the group, his voice choked, and he bowed his head, “Lord Fire Wolf, how come you have time to come here?”
“Get out of the way. Your house is so spacious, we’ll borrow it for a few days.” But Fire Wolf ignored Du Shou and waved his hand to make him move aside.
When Du Shou saw Qi Bei and his group pouring in continuously, he was stunned. He realized it was the caravan that had conflicts with him at the city gate.
At this moment, Du Ling walked out, wanting to see what was going on. However, when she saw Fire Wolf, her beautiful face turned cold, and she turned and walked towards the backyard. (TL : Du Ling = Ling’er)
Fire Wolf took out two gold coins and threw them to Du Shou, saying, “Take this and go to a nearby restaurant to order some food and wine. Treat our Blood Wolves’ distinguished guests well.”
“This…” Du Shou was tongue-tied and didn’t know what to say.
“Hurry up.” Fire Wolf’s eyes turned cold, and he said sharply.
“Yes, yes, I’ll go now.” Du Shou looked worriedly at the backyard and hurriedly left.
“You can do whatever you want. Treat it as your own home. We Blood Wolves never mistreat our friends.” Fire Wolf smiled and finished speaking to Qi Bei, then turned and walked into the backyard.
Qi Bei frowned. He could see that Fire Wolf had bad intentions toward the young girl.
“Young master, can we help her?” Huan Ying tugged at Qi Bei’s clothes, with a pleading look in her eyes.
Qi Bei was conflicted. They were disguised as a Goth caravan to trade with the Blood Wolves. If they acted recklessly now, they might alert the enemy. But if a young girl was being defiled in front of him, he couldn’t just stand by and watch. It would weigh heavily on his conscience.
Just then, Du Shou, who had just gone out for a while, rushed back and headed towards the backyard.
Qi Bei’s heart stirred, and he followed Du Shou into the backyard.
“No… let go of me…” In a room, there came the angry scream of Du Ling.
“Haha, this Lord Wolf can’t wait any longer. Today, you will taste the pleasure that will make you want to die.” Fire Wolf laughed wildly and there was the sound of tearing cloth.
“Don’t…ah…brother, save me, save me…” Du Ling’s sobbing voice came out.
Du Shou, who was standing outside the house, struggled with a look of distress. He looked like he wanted to rush in, but lacked the courage.
“Xiao Jiu, go in and take a look, don’t let that beast really harm the girl,” Qi Bei whispered.
“Yes, master.” Xiao Jiu replied softly and quietly entered.
“Brother…brother…” Du Ling’s despairing screams filled the air.
Du Shou trembled all over, thinking about the past few years when the two siblings depended on each other. It was always Du Ling who took care of him and cleaned up his mess.
“Ah…you damn Fire Wolf, let go of my sister!” Du Shou roared like crazy, smashed open the door and rushed in.
But immediately, Du Shou was thrown out with even greater force, spitting blood as he flew. Then, the half-naked Fire Wolf walked out, wanting to crush Du Shou’s head with one foot.
At this moment, Fire Wolf seemed to sense something and looked forward, only to see Qi Bei smiling at him.
Fire Wolf was about to return the smile, but suddenly felt severe pain in his head and fell down with a loud crash.
