Reborn in the Post-Apocalyptic World: Building Infrastructure

Chapter 65: Reached a Cooperation and Entering the Reserve Warehouse

"Everyone, don't be nervous, I mean no harm. Let me introduce myself first. I'm Wang Yuanhang, nice to meet you."

Wang Yuanhang raised his hands in a gesture of surrender, stood with legs apart in front of the car, and presented an unusual appearance. He was dressed in a robe similar to what European priests wear, with a white veil wrapped around his head and a hat on top. 1In case if you guys forgot, he needed to cover himself from head to toe due to the extremely hot sun.

However, judging from his fluent Mandarin, Wang Yuanhang seemed to be a genuine Chinese.

Sheng Hongye approached Wang Yuanhang with a shotgun in hand and asked with a guarded expression, "What do you want?"

Wang Yuanhang smiled and replied, "We are all survivors from Lizhou. I came to discuss a cooperation with you."

Sheng Hongye raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What kind of cooperation?"

Wang Yuanhang slowly put his hands down and tucked them into his pockets.

"No need to beat around the bush. To be frank, we found the food storage three days ago. There are too many zombies inside, and it's difficult for just a few people to get in. So, why don't we join forces and split the food equally?"

Sheng Hongye didn't immediately agree, but asked, "How many people do you have?"

After thinking for a moment, Wang Yuanhang replied, "There are twelve people in total, including both men and women. How about you?"

Sheng Hongye considered and said, "Excluding the elderly and women, we have five people capable of fighting."

"Seventeen people should be enough. Considering we are all survivors, we can take a bit of a loss. If we pool all our manpower, the resources will still be divided equally. What do you think?"

Sheng Hongye replied calmly, "Leave your address. We need to discuss and decide before giving you an answer."

Wang Yuanhang promptly agreed, "Sure, head north from here, and you'll find four RVs. That's our base, and we all live in the RVs."

"Alright, I'll give you an answer before noon tomorrow."

"Deal."

Wang Yuanhang jumped back into the RV and headed north.

Chen Yu immediately said, "Brother Sheng, this deal seems feasible."

"Let's discuss inside."

Sheng Hongye entered the house with the shotgun.

Once everyone was seated, he asked, "What are your opinions?"

Professor Bai spoke first, "I have no objections. We'll go along with whatever you decide."

Guan Yuxin shook her head. "I don't have any abilities, nor can I fight. I can only take care of the children. You decide the rest."

Following the principle of ladies first, Sheng Hongye turned to Su Ling.

"I think we can give it a try, but I hope you can include me."

Sheng Hongye's expression became solemn. "There should be a lot of zombies inside. Are you sure you want to join?"

"I'm sure. I promise not to hold you back."

Today, Su Ling had already killed a zombie dog, which boosted her confidence.

Most importantly, she didn't want there to be a significant gap between their side and the other party, to avoid disputes when dividing the resources.

Thinking of the man in the strange outfit, a worried expression crossed Su Ling's face.

"Even if I join, we'll only have six people. It's just half of their group; we are too few," she said.

Sheng Hongye nodded. "Indeed, if everyone decides to participate in this operation, I'll make it clear to them to avoid further complications after capturing the storage warehouse."

Geng Hao added, "I have no objections. If we don't raid the warehouse, we'll go hungry. I'd rather take the risk."

Han Qiang also agreed, and Er Lei naturally followed suit.

After making their decision, they discussed their coordinated plan and then rested.

The next morning, after hastily eating breakfast, they set out to find the row of RVs.

About two kilometers into their journey, they indeed spotted a line of RVs.

As if expecting Sheng Hongye's arrival, Wang Yuanhang immediately jumped down from one of the vehicles.

With the overcast weather, there was no sunlight, and he wasn't as tightly wrapped up as the previous day, revealing a gaunt face.

Judging by his appearance, Wang Yuanhang seemed to be around thirty-two or thirty-three years old, with a thin face and high cheekbones, giving him a mean look.

He opened his arms and walked toward Sheng Hongye, saying, "My friend, welcome to our camp."

Sheng Hongye evaded Wang Yuanhang's hug and shook his hand instead.

"We agree with your proposal. When are you planning to launch the attack?"

Wang Yuanhang looked slightly embarrassed but quickly laughed it off.

"Well, the sooner, the better. You must have noticed that with each rain, the zombies' abilities grow stronger. Given the weather, if it doesn't rain today, it surely will tomorrow. If you have no objections, we can go now."

Sheng Hongye glanced at the RVs and asked calmly, "What about the distribution of personnel?"

"We'll split our twelve members into two groups, with eight following me. The other three will be with you. They are familiar with the terrain, and one of them has the wind-based ability, which can boost your speed."

Wang Yuanhang continued, "Do you have any ability users among your group?"

Sheng Hongye replied, "Yes, we have fire and lightning abilities."

Wang Yuanhang seemed somewhat surprised. "Both are attack abilities? We have three ability users: one with sensing ability, one with wind ability, and one with multiplication ability."

The fact that the other side had three ability users indicated that abilities were indeed becoming more widespread.

Su Ling couldn't help but look at Sheng Hongye, wondering what kind of ability he might possess if his ability were to awaken.

Lost in thought, Wang Yuanhang continued, "If you have no other questions, then let's depart."

"Okay," Sheng Hongye replied and got into the car, exuding a sense of boldness and dominance.

Wang Yuanhang gave some instructions, and the six vehicles set off together, arriving at the storage warehouse.

One by one, the people got out of their cars. Surprisingly, there were four women in Wang Yuanhang's team.

These women wore different outfits, the youngest being in her twenties, while the oldest appeared to be in her forties. After getting out of the car, they remained silent, not engaging in conversation.

The remaining seven were all men, with varying ages and physiques. The youngest was around the same age as Geng Hao. The only thing they seemed to have in common was their apparent lack of expression, appearing quite indifferent.

Sheng Hongye also looked at these individuals, and his profound gaze once again showed seriousness.

He turned slightly and said to Su Ling, "Stay behind me. If there's any danger, you should run quickly."

Su Ling raised the corner of her mouth and smiled sweetly at Sheng Hongye. "I have confidence in you."

Even the strongest of men need encouragement, especially at times like this, when words of encouragement are crucial.

Sheng Hongye's gaze indeed softened slightly, and he nodded at Su Ling without saying another word.

Wang Yuanhang pointed at three people from the crowd.

"You three will join this team; they're about to depart."

A woman in her forties and two men in their fifties stepped forward.

Seeing the people Wang Yuanhang assigned, Su Ling's heart skipped a beat.

None of these three seemed to possess any combat skills.

While Su Ling was distracted, Er Lei had already entered the storage warehouse ahead of them.

Suddenly, in the darkness, a red light flashed, and two dark figures swiftly lunged at the group.
