Lucky Once in Yugioh GX

Chapter 42. Bet!

While the two stupid rich brothers were talking to the camera’s, explaining how they were amazing for sitting on their asses, while Chazz did everything on his own. I slowly got up from my seat. Both Alexis and Blair looked at me a bit confused as to where I was going, so I gave a small hint so they wouldn’t try to stop me. “I’ll be right back, I just have to pick up some cards.” I unwrapped Blair’s arm, and patted her paperboy hat to stop her from seeing Alexis’ clear doubtful expression. I gave her a slight smirk and shrugged.

I knew that she knew I was about to do something with that tape I recorded, but she had no idea what I was planning to do publicly. I walked lower towards the stage, and heard one of the brothers compliment themselves. I found a lull, so I chipped in when I got to the bottom of the bleachers. “Including being little plebeians that hide behind their own little brother!!” I yelled, gathering everyone's attention, as I slowly made my way on stage in front of the brothers. “Why don’t you both stop hiding your own lack of skill for Dueling, and just stick to behind your desks where you won't be embarrassed?”

I gave a sneer as I continued on while they were both stunned from my sudden verbal attack. “You talk as if you helped Chazz to get here, and that with all of you together you can take on any challenges.” I scoffed at the very idea, Zorc chuckling along with me. “However you both are such bad duelists, you wouldn’t know how to tribute summon if the instructions were on the card.”

Jayden stifled a laugh, covering his mouth to hide his large smile. Chazz just stared at me with his mouth slightly agape, in complete shock of how I was talking to his brothers, and boy were his brothers pissed. One took a large step forward, grabbing my jacket to hold me up, and stagger me. “Speak carefully you little Slifer…” He grumbled under his breath to try and threaten me. It had the opposite effect, just making me stifle my own laugh. “What? Touch a nerve?” I asked him, begging for him to throw the first blow.

The second brother quietly placed his hands on the others arms, silently telling him to let me down. He did as he was told, cursing under his breath as the principal came running down. “I’m so sorry! I will take him away now!” The principal yelled as he grabbed my arm to drag me off stage. But before he could, the calmer brother stopped him. “Unfortunately, I can’t let slandering like that slide.” He spoke calmly, hiding the burning rage just below his fake personality. “I believe that in order to prove to our audiences at home, a Duel between me and this young gentleman is in order. Perhaps him being expelled would suit the punishment for ruining the Princeton image.”

The principal almost seemed to be shivering while positioning himself just in front of me, to help protect me from their wrath. It was appreciated, but sorely unneeded. ‘Again, I’m sure I can win, but if you want me to phrase it differently…’ I asked my spirits, and was received with all of their trust and acceptance. I smirked, and pushed my way forward in front of the principal to talk terms. “Hah! I’ll do you one better…! If I can’t beat you in two turns..!” I yelled while holding 2 of my fingers up. Before continuing on with my bet. “I can never Duel again for the rest of my life! You can even burn my deck!” I finished with a snake eyed grin as I tapped my Deck inside my Duel Disk.

I could see the slight excitement behind his calm demeanor. I knew that he would love to dance on the ashes of my Deck and Dueling career. “But…!” I yelled, holding one finger up to grab his attention again. “If I win…! You have to give me 5 cards…!” I stared at him while he gave it some thought, my arms were crossed, and I was tapping my foot showcasing my lack of patience. “Young man!” The principal took me aside, scowling showcasing his disapproval. “What do you think you are doing!?” He whispered at me in a more worried tone than anything.

I patted his shoulder to calm him down, making sure to speak loud enough for both the brothers to eavesdrop. “It’ll be fine, principal. I have a deck that can beat any machine monsters they throw at me. Those were Chazz’s original cards were machines, so that’s probably what they use. This’ll be good for the school to reclaim some of its honor from losing to Chazz. Besides I’m sure that they have enough good cards to help increase the strength of our school’s decks for the next time.”

As soon as I was finished in my fake hushed tones, the brother I made the bet to, grabbed my attention. “I’ll accept the bet!” He yelled while taking minute steps back to avoid being accused of listening to my plan. They were both smiling mischievously at each other, whispering their plans and nodding to each other. The other brother ran off, ordering the film crew to keep shooting as he did. “My brother just needs to get my cards. However you must remember to keep your word for this bet.”

I scoffed at him, and rolled my eyes at him. I then used my head to point to the cameras. “Is that thing on?” I asked, my gaze never leaving him. He looked up at one of the film crew, giving him a thumbs up. “Yes, they are rolling.” He answered with his eyebrow raised. “I, Rakki Ichido! Will leave Duel Academy, destroy my Deck, and will never Duel again if I can not beat my opponent in 2 turns!!” I yelled at the camera to make it official, before smirking at the brother to do the same. He chuckled a bit while looking at the same camera.

“I, Jagger Princeton! Will procure 5 cards for Rakki Ichido if I lose this match!” And with that, the trap was finally set. “Heh… Well done boy…” Zorc said while chuckling at the stupidity of the two Princeton brothers. I walked over to my side of the field, waiting for Jagger to get all of his cards. Jayden ran over, I could see the worry in his eyes. “Rakki! Are you sure about this!? What are you gonna do if you lose!?” He yelled while grabbing both of my arms, shaking me while spouting more questions”

I scowled at how strong of a grip he had, trying to shake reason into me. “Stop shaking me!” I yelled while flicking his forehead. He stopped and grabbed the injured area while I huffed. “Just shut up and watch me get you a card.” Jayden stopped for a second, processing what I just said. His smile returned, as he patted my back. “Aw, you didn’t have to bet your Dueling to get me a card.” I shoved his arm away, seriously considering just having someone drag him off stage. “Shut up! Since I’m going to win anyway, I might as well get some cards for you guys while I was at it. Don’t make it sound like it was my plan from the beginning!”

It was true. I was planning on getting a few cards for myself alongside Alexis and Blair, but after glancing at their expressions in the bleachers, something told me I shouldn’t give too much for myself, to ease the amount of pain coming my way. I could already feel my arm sting from Alexis hitting it in the future. Another glance showed a chilling aura emanating from both girls despite their scary, fake gentle smiles. I scratched the back of my neck to help stop the shivers, and shooed Jayden away. “Alright, that fucker is getting his deck soon, go back and place some bets on me.”

Jayden chuckled a bit before racing off towards the bleachers. “You got it! Make sure to pay me back for the ones I get for you!” I rolled my eyes, before seeing Chazz standing off in a corner behind his brothers. He stared at me, and I was surprised to see slight worry in his eyes as well. ‘People really worry, when they shouldn’t. This guy really can’t Duel… Or was that his brother…?’ “Oh shit…”

“I have my deck!” He yelled, attaching a Duel Disk to his arm. I steadied myself, thinking of what kind of Deck he might use. ‘He probably uses Dragons just like his brother, and this is only GX Dragons. Glorified beat sticks. I can win this.’ I nodded while glancing at my deck, putting full trust into my friends. “I’ll go first!” I yelled with a smirk, regaining my confidence. Jagger raised an eyebrow, before gaining an evil smile he quickly hid. “Of course! Feel free!” We both then drew our opening hands, each knowing we would be victorious. “Let’s Duel!”

4,000 Rakki ---- 4,000 Jagger
