Lucky Once in Yugioh GX

Chapter 43. Darkfire Immolation

4,000 Rakki ---- 4,000 Jagger

I glanced at my hand, the camera’s all pointed at me, the auditorium silent, all wondering what I might do to assure my victory in my next turn. I smirked, glancing at my hand, full of the smaller spirits that I contracted with. “I place one card face down, and end my turn!” I yelled, as I slid my one trap card into my Duel Disk. Jagger laughed at my move, and plenty of the crowd groaned, presumably from thinking of losing their bets they placed on me. “Are you sure you know how to Duel Rakki!?” He said in between chuckles.

“I Draw!” He yelled, pulling a card from the top of his deck. He glanced at it, his smile showcasing his lack of surprise. It seemed to be more of a guarantee to him that he would draw that card. ‘That bastard didn’t cheat did he?’ I thought as he played his first spell. “I play the spell card, Polymerization! Fuzing all 5 Dragons in my hand into Five Headed Dragon!!”

The stadium erupted into a bright light that blinded all that dared to look. While everyone's eyes were tightly shut, the enormous roar of the Five Headed Dragon filled the room, striking fear in all those that heard it. When the light dimmed, everyone watched breathlessly at the singular dragon body that erupted into five different heads, each with their own attribute. They all moved around, looking at each other, and pecking at each other while waiting for their command. At the other end was the single challenger who seemed to be in complete shock with his mouth agape, staring at the Dragon God in front of him.

Jagger sneered while imagining his own future. Of smashing that annoying brat’s hands enough to never touch a card again. ‘We have to make sure that he can’t, otherwise he might try to play behind our backs. Too bad your mouth was larger than your head you Slifer fucker!’ “Five Headed Dragon!! Destroy him!!” He announced his attack, and watched as each of the heads reared back to breath out their respective breaths.

“I activate Performipal’s effect!!” I yelled, revealing my pal to everyone. “When you try to make a direct attack, I can summon him from my hand to the field! So I’ll put him in attack position!”

The full brunt of the attack, smashed against the little furry creature. Instantly destroying him. After the smoke cleared people were shocked to see that I was still standing. “How!!? You were dumb enough to place him in attack position!” Jagger yelled, his voice dripping with rage. I scoffed while my pal chirped in happiness. “Thanks to my pal, all damage I would take from that battle, gets turned into life points instead.”

“And since you are out of cards, I’d say it’s my turn!” I smiled at the rage filled Princeton. “I Draw!” I yelled, quickly checking what card I was dealt. I smirked as I read the card I needed. I then looked back at Jagger, hiding behind his God Dragon. “Now…! I will lose if I don’t beat you this turn!” Jagger gained a smile, thinking that I had no chance to win since I went first. “So, I’ll be sure to pull out my most powerful dragon to beat yours!” I yelled as I showed my own Polymerization. A blazing fire erupted on my side of the field, moving and forming itself into the shape of a blazing dragon.

Everything was quiet, until everyone who betted against me erupted into laughter. The main reason being was because that fusion was widespread, one of the worst fusions you could have. It came from Petit Dragon, and Firegrass. Both very weak normal monsters. And yes, they were both found in that well that I decided to keep in my own deck. Part of me felt something with Petit Dragon especially, and Firegrass didn’t stick out from my deck too much either.

Waiting for the laughter to die down, I looked up at Alexis and Blair. They both never lost faith in me, I could tell that they still believed that I would win. I hid a small smile as I focused back on the Duel. Jagger shook his head with a fake frown. “I’m sorry to have to prove you wrong like this, but as I said before, the Princeton’s are very accomplished.” I scoffed knowing that he would be as happy as I was to put him in his rightful place.

Jagger watched the boy look down at his feet, his hand covering part of his face. His back shook, indicating his crude attempt to stop his crying. Jagger’s heart jumped in excitement. He loved watching the hope die out from someone that stood against him. He loved being able to snatch anything he wanted away from anyone else. He loved sitting above others that dared to wrong him, and watch them squirm. This was his prelude to enjoying everything that would be happening soon. However something changed, the boy looked back up to the dragon laughing like a mad man.

I couldn’t help but belt out my laughter from how this little wimp tried to win a Duel without a single card on his back line. “You are a fool that has no business in the art of ruling! It is actually hilarious that you still think that just having brute strength is to denote power!” By this time Zorc had transformed my speech again, having to speak through me to get some of his thoughts off his chest, not that I didn’t agree. It was funny to see how I was going to beat his God Dragon with one that was known to be the weakest.

By this time, everyone quieted down, allowing Zorc and I to continue our move. “Dragons may have overwhelming power. However, a true ruler uses any of his troops to outshine the might of others. By giving them the tools to succeed in overpowering their enemies. So I’ll use the equip spell, Fusion Weapon to increase my Darkfire Dragon’s attack and defense by 1500!” Darkfire Dragon, after receiving the weapon, changed his flames to a deeper, and darker hue of red. Almost like flames that made the Dragon were the blood of his body burning itself for fuel.

“Now I’ll use my face down! Big Win!! Allowing me to flip a coin twice! If both are heads I get to choose what level my monsters on the field will be for the turn! If not, then I have to take damage, equal to the level I picked, times 500! Level 1!!” I yelled as the card flipped both coins at the same time. They both landed on heads, changing my monster to Level 1.

Jagger was about to say something, but I cut him off with my next spell. “Now! I activate Triangle Power!! Giving 2000 attack to all Level 1 monsters I have on the field for the rest of the turn!!” I could hear gasps as Darkfire Dragon gained a startling amount of extra attack points, causing the color of his flames to change into complete black. The flames that emanated glow, somehow also ate the light it produced giving an ominous vibe that sent everyone more on edge than the literal Dragon God at the same level of attack points. It didn’t roar, but the sound of crackling fire, and the constant heated winds made everyone understand they were next to an inferno.

“Now Darkfire Dragon! Show everyone your true strength!! Overthrow even the Gods!!” My voice felt different for that moment, and I could tell it was Zorc’s doing. Why he felt the need, I had no clue, not that I had time to care. Not with Jagger giving me his snide attitude. “You fool! My monster can’t be destroyed by your Dark Type monster, and with the end of your attack, I win!!”

“Unfortunately for you…! I don’t have to destroy your monster to deal damage!!” Jagger stuttered as I revealed my last card up my sleeve. “I activate the Quick-Play spell…! Battle Fusion!! Letting my fusion gain attack points equal to the monster they battle this turn!!” As soon as I explained it, everyone sat in complete shock of the titan that I was creating in front of them. Nobody moved a muscle, as the fear of the Black Flaming Dragon filled the stadium, snuffing out the lights, yet somehow illuminating itself to showcase its own might as it doubled in strength.

Darkfire wrapped itself around the Five Headed Dragon, immolating it. Even if it couldn’t be destroyed, all the excess damage leaked through to Jagger, eliminating his life points on the spot.

8,700 Rakki ---- 0 Jagger
