Chapter 22-1
Hanette looks at Sion with troubled expression.
It must have been because he wanted to somehow pay off the debt he owed her.
Just having that kind of feeling was enough, but why did he become so forceful?
‘He’s a nice guy. He’s also good-looking, to be honest.’
Hanette chuckled at the thought she had heard before.
He was very handsome, polite, and even kind.
At that time, she tried to deny it, but only now I was able to accept it.
“Are you having fun doing this? I wish you would finish it quickly.” – Sion
“It’s not fun. Why are you being stubborn?” – Hanette
“Are you telling me to live with debt for the rest of my life?”
“Just think of it as if 80 gold coins fell from the sky.”
“…I can only laugh if it’s just a joke.”
“Does it sound like a joke to you?”
Sion feels tired and frowns.
It was her hard-earned money, but yet Hanette refused to accept it.
Maybe, she guessed how he had gotten the money.
“How long are you going to keep doing this?”
“If you give up, it’s over, but you’re still holding on, aren’t you?”
“It will end once you my sister accepts it.”
“How would I know where the money came from? Since I didn’t lend it to you, just take it and stop this.”
“It’s your hard-earned money, right? Then Please.”
“Oh, I’m not going to take it?”
“Just take it!”
Sion pushed the envelope forward with a raised voice, reluctantly.
But Hanette calmly continued speaking without even blinking an eye.
“… If you leave it here and go, I’ll tear it up right away.”
“What… you want to make it useless for me too?”
“That’s why I’m telling you to take it. You know my personality, right?”
“You’re quite eccentric.”
“Yeah. Since my personality is eccentric, hurry up and take it. I don’t want to be embarrassed about this.”
While Hanette warned him gently, her gaze did not waver.
It was as if her will to keep the words she uttered was engraved in her.
After thinking for a moment, Sion finally took the envelope.
“How nice would it have been if you had done that from the beginning?”
“How could I not take it? You look like you’re about to lose and beat me.”
“Hey! When did I say I’ll hit you?”
“Look at My sister’s face. Are you giving me that threatening look for no reason? If only your glare could kill people, I would have dead already.”
“If you had listened to me earlier, this wouldn’t have happened. It’s all your fault.”
“You’re blaming me again. Don’t you feel ashamed?”
“Then tell me now. Where did the money come from? How did you manage to get 80 gold coins in just a few days? I’m really curious.”
Hanette scoffed openly and tilted her head.
Sion sighed and made an uncomfortable expression.
“Hey. You know I can handle things on my own even if you don’t worry about me? You should take care of yourself more than me.”
“My sister’s situation doesn’t look so good either.”
“Are you and I the same? Don’t I have to act more mature?”
“… Do you really think pretending to be an adult in front of me is that fun?”
“Why do you think it’s pretending to be an adult? Is it so strange to take care of the fiancé who is three years younger than me?”
“Hmm… So you feel rewarded and proud of yourself?”
“Well, then who could have given you 80 gold coins in that situation?”
“… ”
Sion hesitated for a moment before closing his mouth.
He couldn’t deny that one fact.
If Hanette hadn’t followed him to the auction house, he would have never won the bid for the Demon Gloves.
“Are you feeling guilty? You seem quiet.” – Hanette
“I have to admit it.” – Sion
“Yeah, that’s right. Be grateful and think carefully in the future. I’ve done something generous for someone three years younger than me.” – Hanette
“I guess you want me to act awkwardly every time we meet, huh? Thank you, though.” – Sion
“Now you seem more like yourself. Keep it up in the future. I feel burdened when you act like this.” – Hanette
“I’m worried about who will put up with that attitude of yours. Ugh…” – Sion
Sion looks at her with pity, shaking his head.
Hanette smiles back at him.
“Because someone is in front of me, I have high expectations.” – Hanette
“Do you have plans to marry me?” – Sion
“That’s the question I wanted to ask.” – Hanette
“Don’t answer a question with a question. Just answer.” – Sion
“A question is also an answer.” – Hanette
“You don’t have the confidence to answer.” – Sion
“Think what you want. I have no regrets.” – Hanette
“I’m sure. With no one standing in your way, what could you regret?” – Sion
“Then you can just stop me from regretting it.” – Hanette
Hanette takes a step forward with a glance.
Sion follows behind slowly with a disappointed expression.
‘He’s really handling it well. He received money because of someone else… He’s quite a fiancé.’
