Global Awakening: Monster Taming Necromancer

Chapter 83: Windless slash

"It has me just doing the basics, nothing else," Temur shook his head. "That's what I've been doing. Practicing with different weapons all through. I have no real technique. This might just be my first real one to try."

Kaidos stretched out his left hand and started to construct a shield in front of himself. He felt something dangerous from what Temur was trying.

Temur used his fingers to start rotating the sword on his left hand, quickly and efficiently, and it began to spin with wind of its own. "Windless slash!" He jammed his right hand against the sword.

Then he thrust forward at the same time, and a tornado of jagged aura jumped out; it filled the air and lit up the room in a shower of red; it moved quickly towards its target, gaining more power the more it speeds.

"This bastard...." Kaidos braced himself, grinding his teeth together and scolding himself for feeling fear. The attack howled like a natural disaster in front of him and filled his vision.

He blinked just before it swallowed him whole the the force of a speeding train. 'Did I just see the faint image of a dragon in that attack?' That was his last thought before everything turned upside down.

Beside Temur where his Codex stood hovering, something happened. The Codex that looked like the image of an old Khantari smiled when he saw that last technique and the beast imprint in it– so it begins.

Temur was unaware of all this as he was breathing hard; his inside felt wrung out and twisted as all his aura was used. He supported himself with his sword as his whole body trembled.

Even though his weapon was speared, it molded back to a liquid and formed into a band around his hand. Temur fell to his knees then. "Jael...it...seems...I'll have to leave the rest to you."

"See about Litha, Temur," Jael said quietly. "Attend to her, I won't let anything pass me by. You have my word."

He looked towards the beastman where Temur's attack had driven him into the cracked wall. "You can stop pretending now. You want me? Come and have me."

"Ugh!" Kaidos dragged himself from the wall and swayed as his weight rested on his legs. "To think he'll be able to draw that much power out of the technique. More than me. What if he began to train in real techniques? Ah, hehehehehw. I can't let that happen." Your next journey awaits at m v|l-e'm,p| y- r

Kaidos's helmet was gone and his face bloodied. He was amazed that Temur was able to cause that much damage to his body. He didn't know when and how he used it up but the remaining life force on him is now three.

The one in his body and the one in his weapon. His armor is now nothing more than normal blood control. "But it'll be enough to end someone like you. Even then, I still have THAT." He muttered to himself.

Jael put Hermit to all speed and he was right because the neck seconds, Kaidos was in front of him trying to use a surprise attack like he did earlier for Litha.

"Think again!" He matched his speed, and he blurred behind the beast-man, throwing a vicious uppercut at him, but it only grazed him as Kaidos sped forward.

"Just how are you doing that?" Kaidos demanded. "You are a Necromancer! You should be no better than a mage that attacks from a distance! Where are your summons?!"

Jael blinked. He was supposed to fight from a distance? That's how Necromancers fight? 'That's just stupid. Even for a mage, Just like Temur used to say– you must not rely on your team and be ready to take on any enemy at any time

"You've got it wrong. I don't need summons not when I'm a weapon myself. But if you insist, I'll show you," his voice suddenly distorted, splitting into a rough growl. "Hermit, answer my call and show yourself."

His body shuddered, and half part of his body changed. His right eye turned red, then his cheek also changed, turning into knotted flesh like countless scars, and his right hand transformed, turning into a mass of flesh with fangs that glinted.

Then he set his whole body on fire. Green fire burns from his head to his toes, dripping into the ground like liquid that hissed and spat. "Well then. Meat my first monster, Chao Devourer Hermit!"

Kaidos felt a chill; for a moment, it was as if something huge with an open maw was standing behind him. He had never seen or heard of a Necromancer like this before. But even then, he still had his life force.

Even though Jael brought Hermit out, it was still all speed so when Kaidos moved. He moved with him and the streak of red and green collided in the middle.

"Bam!"

"Twack!"

"Twink! Twink!"

They moved backward and met again, sword and fangs colliding. A flashing flare of two colors so fast all they left behind was their streaking images.

There was no need for words; their weapons did all the talking. This wasn't a strength contest. It was for speed and they were both evenly matched.

Jael sent an occasional bolt of unholy magic out, and Kaidos answered with ruddy energy of his own, causing a small blast of shockwave.

But among evenly matched fighters like this, one thing will always set the scale higher. In this case, it was– endurance!

The life force that Kaidos was using is like fuel. He's burning it the more he fights, and if he takes a big damage, then the fuel will burn faster. Right now, he's taking small but numerous damages, which equals a big one that's accumulated.

In short– Kaidos is about to finish using his remaining fuel. He has to finish this at once!

He sent a double bolt of raw scorching energy between them and created space. Kaidos was breathing faster than he expected. "My ultimate final move. It's uncompleted but that's the good thing. It'll take less power!"
