Chapter 84: Show down
He removed the remaining life force from his body, and only one silver ball came out, rolling gently in front of him. He clenched it in his fist, and with his other hand, he discarded his blood sword, and all the blood on his body was shrugged off.
'I will take him down with this' he raised his hand and pointed his finger at Jael. Power gathered at the tip of his finger in bright red that glowed with silver and red light.
Jael grimaced, he felt a chill, his instincts screaming at him that it was extremely dangerous. "Hermit can you handle that." He listened through their connection and he got his answer.
"Very well then. I will do what I must! Come out!" He shouted just as Kaidos fired. The concentrated beam of power pierced the air and blasted towards him.
The first shield came out of the darkness that boiled between them in the ground. The subordinate of the goblin came out, and it was reduced to ash in an instant.
The beam continued, and with his right hand transformed into a shield, he took it. The power hit like a metal-gloved hand to the gut. His eyes rolled as he flew back and his head exploded with pains of different shades.
The sudden loss of connection with the goblin, the Hermit screaming in pain in his head, and then the pain in his body. Everything rolled together as his back was rammed into the wall. Jael lay twitching.
"PhaWahhhhH!" Kaidos laughed from his place. "You think you can beat me? This is what I was told to be careful about. You guys?" He laughed again, but his eyes were hard to think he would be forced to use the last of his life force just to fight them!
The only power he has left is his natural power. "I better finish them. But first, let's capture our products." He began to walk towards the wounded Jael.
But unknown to him Jael was in a conversation with something mentally.
Kaidos loomed above him and raised his Codex, the black dagger. His hand twitched, and he wanted nothing more than to stab him, but he was commanded to bring him back alive. "What a pain. With all the troubles I went through. I should at least get to take some life....wait, he still has teammates."
He dipped his hand into his pocket and brought out a small glass orb that was inscribed with runes that shimmered with light of their own. "Just stay still in here alright."
He raised the small glass, and it was the same time Jael raised his eyes, and Kaidos flinched when he saw his eyes blazing green. He was angry at himself for getting scared of a wounded opponent who could do nothing but glare. "You are already down like a dog, Jael. Just accept your fate like a good boy."
Jael smirked. "That's...almost cliche. I'll do one right back at you beastman. KNEE!"
Kaidos eyes widened as a force slammed into him, an overpowering strength as if the air had gained weight. His joints locked and he slammed into the floor in a clumsy kneeling position. He didn't understand and he looked up at Jael. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
Jael was now loomed before him and behind the Necromancer was a beast. With two legs and a face of an old man. The Onus's eyes burned with green fire as it locked on him.
"W....wha....t...is.. tha..??" Kaidos felt fear then. He tried to move but the force was still pushing him down. This... is this the work of the monster behind Jael?
Jael smiled. This was the first time he would be using the Onus power, and he liked it so far. What an interesting power, to control gravity like this. Enjoy exclusive chapters from m-v l'e|m,p| y- r
He crouched before Kaidos. "How does it feel to be powerless? This is how your victims feel when you trick them into your contract; it isn't fun, is it?"
Jael smiled warmly and raised his hand, then he briefly removed the force that was locking down the beastman and covered his right hand with it. Then he flickered Kaidos forehead with his finger.
It sounded like a bullet was shot, and he was jetted back, his body skidding on the ground like a doll. Jael began to walk towards him, and the Onus followed behind him, its steps soundless.
Jael hadn't gotten the full use of his new power, but he knew he could control a certain amount of force. It's isn't much but he was able to lock down Kaidos for a while.
So when Kaidos began to crawl forward with his left hand, Jael gathered all his force and concentrated it on Kaidos's stretched hand. The snap of bone breaking was sharp in the air, like the breaking of dried twigs.
There was silence and then Kaidos began to scream. "AhhhAAhhhhhh!!!" He had never felt this type of pain before in his life. He began to sweat, and his stomach rolled, his head empty of anything except pain.
"Oh look! You're bleeding. But you must have some ways to take care of yourself right. Why don't you control the blood?" Jael asked. But the person he was talking to was gasping for breath and holding onto his hand pathetically.
Jael sent satisfaction through his link at Hermit. 'Look, I've taken care of the one that hurt you.' In return, the monster sent back images of monster cores. Jael chuckled. "Soon, soon."
The Onus growled behind him and Jael looked at it with his eyebrows raised. "Yes, I know you're part; I'll give you monster cores, too." Jael briefly considered the amount he would be spending on food for his monster.
"Jael! Are you done?" Temur asked.
He was covered in blood, and his face was grim; his eyes were locked on Kaidos crying on the ground. "Oh. I see. You are done here then."
Jael looked at his expression. "How is Litha?"
