Global Awakening: Monster Taming Necromancer

Chapter 82: A joke?

They surrounded the blood shield but gave it a lot of space. Jael watched as Litha's mana began to melt through. The shield shuddered again, and it turned to liquid and rose, gathering together above Kaidos.

"I have a question to ask you, Kaidos." Jael narrowed his eyes as his red eyes locked on him. "Why are you after me? I don't know you or have anything to do with you."

Kaidos smirked. "You don't do anything to me and I don't give a fuck about you. But unfortunately, you brought someone's attention to yourself."

"What?"

"The Chaos Cult. You stole someone's pet, and they want it back. That person has also sold you to my master, so I'm here to deliver the goods. No hard feelings." He shrugged.

Jael's eyes got darker and darker the more Kaidos spoke and he fought himself to remain calm. "So this is still about that damned cult. After I thought we've left that shit behind us, they popped up like annoying cockroaches."

Hermit twitched and transformed, forming fangs above fangs like the wings of a monstrosity in Jael's right hand. His eyes blazed with green fire. "I know just how to handle cockroaches. You stomp them until they are dead."

Kaidos hissed. 'This bastard is comparing me to an insect! And the way he's looking down on me as if he's higher than me! It's all pissing me off' he thought.

He managed a smirk. "Very well. Bring it on, my master didn't tell me how to deliver the goods after all. Damaged or otherwise."

He then summon his remaining life force. Six orbs of silver light hovered in front of him, and he raised his dagger to add one to it, transforming it into a new blood sword, but this one made the air around it wavered.

Two life forces went into his open mouth, and the rest joined the blood above him. The blood fell on him, and when it firmed with his body, a new armor was made. It was like a second skin with the helmet of a wolf. "I can't last long in this mode but it'll be enough to deal with you."

Litha scoffed. "You talk big for someone in a ridiculous red costume.....!!"

Kaidos moved, he blurred forward, a red streak that was immediately in front of Litha. "Sorry, but your chattering is annoying me."

He slammed his sword into her gut and then slammed his left palm into her face in a slap that sent her skidding back. "There...shut up."

It happened in seconds, and Jael was still blinking as Litha collapsed. She didn't get up. "Litha!!"

"Litha!" Temur shouted and his aura unleashed in a bellow of bloodlust. He gathered it all in his sword and looked towards Kaidos.

Again there was no technique. It was just a simple slash, but when it came out, it was like the desert wind. That would strip flesh from lesser beings. The floor was ripped apart, it tore and scrapped as it howled and slammed into Kaidos. Throwing up dust and debris.

Temur was breathing hard, he had used almost all his power in that one. He turned and began to run towards Litha with Jael when a voice stopped them cold.

"Is this a joke?"

They both turned stiffly. Kaidos looked as if he had taken a serious hit, but he was still standing. His eyes glowed with red power. "Maybe I'd have been dead if I hadn't used up my life forces, but even though I feel the power from your attack. It wasn't something powerful enough to stop me."

"I will kill you all." Kaidos smiled wide and continued towards them, his strides purposeful.

Jael and Temur looked towards Litha but they knew they couldn't attend to her now. They must take care of the bigger threat first.

Temur raised his sword. "I'm tired of hearing your voice." He knew he had only one shot at this; he already expended his power in the previous attack in the hope that it'd take the best man out.

Kaidos knew this as well. "You have already killed two of my life force with that attack, but to kill me, you have to take all my life force before you can take my life.

"You are weak. The rest of your power can't do shit for you, Khantari!"

Temur smirked. "Good thing that you know I'm a Khantari. My race is known for finishing what we start. No, Jael," he lifted his hand when Jael started advancing. "Let me soften him for you. I can't fight a drawn-out battle right now."

His Codex murmured in his ears and Temur smirked. "I should try out that technique. Of course, I saw him do it, but why don't you teach me a real technique anyway? Oh, it's not time yet, but I should copy a technique from an unknown...."

Kaidos blinked. Was he just watching this guy argue with his Codex as if it were human? Is he looking down on him? "Hey....!!" He began to walk forward, his weapon raised.

Temur lifted his hand and closed his eyes. "Wait! I'm trying to remember something."

Kaidos paused. Baffled, it seems everything is getting out of his control. He didn't like it one bit.

"Yes. I've got it." Temur smiled. His dark eyes are shining. "I might not look it but I'm considered some kind of genius."

He transferred his sword to his left hand and coated his right hand with the rest of his power. He raised both.

Jael took a step backward, his eyes widening. 'Don't tell me....he's going to....!!?'

Kaidos was having the same thought. "You are going to use a technique you saw me use? A cheap knockoff...?" He was left speechless with his mouth open.

Temur began to spin the aura in his right hand, and he grunted as he quickly understood the problem with the technique. The difficulty. It's hard to spin the aura the way you want without twisting the hand right off.

But he smirked. "Do you know what my Codex has me doing for Bronze and Iron rank?"
