Celia: After Dying in the Apocalypse, I Live Once Again!

Chapter 27: Farewells.

Hello! This is my latest novel! Unlike my other novels, this one isn't finished yet. The first volume is finished, though. And you can buy it on Amazon here. If you would be so kind, you can also get the first volume(and anything else I've made.) on my Patreon for donating $10 or over that, here. If you wish for updates, the $10 and over tiers will give you access to chapters when I actually finish them. (Maybe one a day? Idk, as I will be mainly working on other novels as well. But, there will at least be one new chapter every few days.)

Chapter 27: Farewells.

*Celia’s POV*

Once the annoying light faded away, the dungeon was completely changed. No, really. Rather than a creepy cave, the walls were ornate, and so were the floors. What the heck happened to my reason to even acquire this stupid dungeon!?

My question was answered by a pile of Mana Crystals near the podium that the dungeon core rests on. There were shoots above the piles. Opening up a door near the back, I came across a pretty messed up sight…

There were hundreds of Primal Goblins, all mindlessly mining the Mana Crystals, and then placing them onto conveyor belts. Why is it when I took ownership of this dungeon, that it turned into a Goblin hard labor slavery mine!?

Yona: “Dungeons will transform into whatever the new owner desires.” She said with a laugh.

Celia: “I don’t agree with slavery, though!” I exclaim.

Yona: “Then it wasn’t created due to your desire for slavery, but your desire to mine the Mana Crystals produced within this dungeon.” She said with a thinking pose.

Celia: “…”

Apart from the whole Goblin slavery thing, at least this dungeon looks pretty now. I say to delude myself into thinking that this situation is completely okay…

Yona: “Although this dungeon is nice now, you shouldn’t live in it.” She said with a serious tone.

Celia: “I won’t. I’d most likely end up going insane if I did.” I say with a sigh.

Yona: “I see. Now, we should probably leave. Oh, but do take that the mini dungeon core next to the big one.” She implored.

Huh? Mini dungeon core? Ah, she is right. There is a small version of the core, sitting right next to the full size one. Actually, there were five of them. What do the even do? It wasn’t on the podium before… Picking one of them up, I was even more confused by it. It was no bigger than the tip of my finger.

Yona: “As long as you have that in your possession, you can always directly teleport back to this dungeon.” She explained.

Celia: “Really!? That is amazing!” I say with an excited tone.

Yona: “That it is. I have some business to attend to, so I shall escort you outside, and then be on my way.” She said as she began to walk out of the main area.

I quickly followed along with her. Of course, not before pocketing all of the currently mined out Mana Crystals. Since the production just started, there were only around fifty each of differing elements. Not that I am complaining, I already have thousands of each of them anyway.

Walking the slightly creepy halls of my new dungeon, it took us almost two hours to make it to the entrance. The entrance was no longer just a cave opening, and instead was a fortified looking castle like structure. To even just leave the dungeon, we had to lower a drawbridge. What the heck?…

Yona: “You truly have an impressive imagination, Celia.” She said with a hearty laugh.

Celia: “…”

Yona: “This is a good point of access to the human kingdom near here. Could you perhaps hand me one of those mini cores? With it, I can access this dungeon whenever, and I can also teleport to it.” She asked with a curious tone.

Celia: “Sure, but I don’t know how useful it would be. Apart from the Mana Crystals.” I say before handing her one of the mini cores.

Yona: “Thanks!” She said with a smile.

The rest of them I had put in my pouch. As I had already planned on giving Yona one as well. But really, what use is it? I guess that you could use it to escape in a tricky situation. But then you would be stuck in a dungeon, that takes a while to leave.

Yona: “Ah, I forgot to mention, but once you teleport to your dungeon, you can teleport right back to your previous location. Anyhow, goodbye for now, little Celia.” She said before she started to walk away.

Celia: “Wow… that is mighty useful then! Bye, Yona! Good luck with that thing you mentioned!” I say before waving her goodbye.

She then turned around, and waved back at me, before returning to walking away. I do wonder what she is going to do? Eh, it isn’t any of my business. Once again, I need to avoid upsetting her at all costs. Now what do I do? Ah, I should probably check my Status, considering that my helper is too lazy to update me on most things these days.

Ruina: “Hey! I heard that!” She said with a pout.

Celia: “I know. That was my intention for you to hear me, after all. You privacy invading pervert.” I say with a smug tone.

Ruina: “…”

Hmm… I got a lot of levels up in that whole dungeon trip. Should I use some of my SIP’s on my Stats, or should I wait for more Skills or Upgrades to show up? Uh… Ruina? That was your cue to help me come to a decision…

Ruina: “Ah, well, you see, I am currently being attacked…” She said with a nervous tone.

Celia: “Huh!? By who? Will you be okay?” I ask with a very concerned tone.

Ruina: “Hm? Oh, yes, I will be fine.” She replied with a nonchalant tone.

Celia: “What? Are you just messing with me?” I ask with an annoyed tone and expression.

Ruina: “No? I was being attacked by my fellow System helpers.” She replied.

Celia: “Why were they attacking you?” I ask.

Ruina: “Oh, I just mentioned that how the System is run, is extremely stupid, and gave them all a list of nice changes that should be made to our processes.” She explained.

Celia: “Why would they attack you for that?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.

Ruina: “Because before I suggested it, I just went ahead and made the changes myself.” She replied with a nonchalant tone once again.

Celia: “Isn’t that… like, really, really bad?” I ask with a sigh.

Ruina: “Oh, they certainly seem to think so as well. But it will be better in the long run. Before, each System had to be built for each person who uses it.” She said.

Celia: “So?” I say.

Ruina: “I made it so there are now a few thousand templates, that will be given to any user of the System, and they will be given the template that best suits them. Of course, their helper will still need to adjust it somewhat.” She explained.

Celia: “Why would they be upset about that kind of change? It sounds way better than making a System from scratch.” I say with a thinking pose.

Ruina: “They’re probably just mad that I did it without asking them first.” She said with a smug tone.

Well… at least Ruina is cheeky to everyone she meets and talks to, not just me. I feel my energy training whenever I talk to Ruina these days, so I won’t try to get her to answer my last question. I’ll just save my SIP’s up for now. Right now, I’ll just go on a random exploration of this forest. Which was my original plan, before I fell into that stupid hole…
