Chapter 28: Exploring.
Chapter 28: Exploring.
*Celia’s POV*
I was still slightly upset about that whole dungeon thing, so I just wandered around the forest without any real goal in mind. Like, that Goblin slavery thing, doesn’t that make me a bad person?…
Ruina: “You’re being oversensitive.” She said with a stern tone.
Celia: “How exactly? If you can look at my memories, then you know for a fact that slavery is extremely wrong, from my perspective.” I reply.
Ruina: “Maybe if you did that with humans, or some other humanoid beings, then it would be bad. But since it was with Primal Goblins, it is fine.” She said with a sigh.
Celia: “Still feels messed up to me…” I say with a sigh.
Ruina: “They literally get food supplied to them by the dungeon, and all they have to do is mine Mana Crystals for you.” She said.
Celia: “That just sounds like slavery, but with a few extra benefits.” I say with a shrug.
Ruina: “God… you make my head hurt so much…” She said with an annoyed tone.
Celia: “Apparently, that is something that I am good at.” I say with a proud tone.
Ruina: “…”
As I continued to walk, I almost passed out… Holding on to a tree, so that I don’t fall, I regained my senses, and tried to figure out what happened to me. Ah! I haven’t slept in over a day! I must be extremely sleep deprived…
Ruina: “What’s wrong, are you okay?” She asked with a concerned tone.
Celia: “Ah, I am fine. I am just a sleepy little girl at the moment.” I reply with a giggle.
Ruina: “Sleepy? Good luck finding a safe place to sleep in this forest.” She said with a smug tone.
Celia: “…”
Were you even actually worried for me? Or were you just waiting for a chance to get back at me for messing with you? Ah, I am too tired to even care at this point…
Normally, in situations like this, you would make a campfire, and use it to scare off any animals. Problem is, this world doesn’t just have normal animals. Frankly, why I haven’t come across any monsters yet, is kinda weird, but I won’t complain about it.
But I won’t just take the chance and sleep in the middle of a dangerous forest. Hm… I could teleport back to my dungeon, and then sleep in it… No. Then I would have to worry about those Primal Goblins trying to revolt. I mean, they probably don’t even have the intelligence to come up with such a plan, but again, I am not taking a risk like that.
Celia: “Ruina, I need sleep… Please come up with a plan.” I say with a pleading tone.
Ruina: “Why not take a rest at that house over there?” She replied.
Celia: “House? What house?” I ask with a confused tone.
Looking around, I saw that behind a big tree, was an odd looking house. Walking up to it, the house seemingly looked to be abandoned. And yet, I am not stupid enough to believe such a convenient thing.
The house basically screams that a witch, or something similar to a witch, lives in it. Despite looking old, it was still standing, and in this forest, unless you’re amazingly lucky, even an amazingly sturdy house would end up getting destroyed by a monster. Not like I have any other options, though…
Deciding to bite the bullet, I walked to the entrance of the house. After knocking on the door, there wasn’t a response, no matter how many times that I knocked. Weird…
Pulling on the door, it opened with ease. Why would they leave their house completely unsecured with an unlocked front door? I am starting to get even more suspicious that this might be a trap…
Looking around inside the house, yeah, this was definitely a witch’s house. The various potion bottles and ingredients scattered around everywhere say as much. Not that I even have the energy to care right now.
Using my extreme lack of sleep as motivation to do something so brazen as sleeping in some random person’s house, I walked up to the second floor. There were a few rooms it seems. Trusting my nonexistent luck, the first door I chose to open, had a bed in it.
I was so beyond tired that I didn’t even care about the consequences of this action. As such, I jumped into the bed, and quickly fell into dreamland. To be fair to me, this was the first time I have slept in a bed in a very, very long time.
*One Well Rested Night Later.*
Waking up with a satisfied yawn, I looked around the room. Rubbing the sleep sand out of my eyes, I came face to face with a woman who was intently staring at me… The woman had long green hair, as well as green eyes. No. She didn’t look like a stereotypical witch at all.
Witch: “.esuoh ym ni ,noitnem ot toN ?tserof suoregnad a hcus ni gniod eb uoy thgim tahw ,lrig elttiL” She said with a seemingly curious tone.
Celia: “Sorry, I cannot understand you…” I say with a nervous tone.
Witch: “Demon language? But you don’t look, or even smell like a demon...” She said with a thinking pose.
Demon language? Ah, I guess that was what Yona taught me. I really should have asked her to help me learn the common human language as well… Oh well, at least this woman can understand demon language to some degree.
Celia: “Ah, sorry for barging into your house. I was really tired, and didn’t want to risk sleeping outside in the forest.” I explain.
Witch: “That’s fine. I am not heartless enough to let a little girl sleep outside in such a dangerous place.” She said with a shrug.
The woman then motioned me to get out of the bed, and I did just that. Then she walked around me, with a curious look on her face. Huh… she isn’t a pervert, right?…
Witch: “Your soul is… well, let’s just say that it isn’t the soul of a child.” She said with one of her hands on her hip, and her other hand holding up her chin.
Celia: “Well, you see… there is a very good reason for that…” I say with a nervous tone.
Witch: “Oh, I am sure that there is a good reason. A reason that I intend to figure out. Hold still, this won’t hurt at all.” She said with a calm tone, before snapping her fingers.
After she snapped her fingers, magical chains appeared out of nowhere, and wrapped around my body. Completely restraining me, with no way to escape at all. Oh no! This woman really was a pervert! Good job, me! Sleep in a perverts house! What a grand and wonderful plan that this turned out to be!…
