Chapter 73: Chapter 73: Becoming a First-Tier Wizard Apprentice and Gaining the Starlight of the Inner Realm
Su Nan spoke calmly:
"Through this battle, I've understood everything.
I am not just my conscious self. My subconscious is also me. I am above them both. So, I don't need to deliberately inject malice into my spells, because you already exist within me."
"You and I together, we are one."
"You are my power, and to view you as something separate from me was the mistake. Once I realized this, I chose to accept you, and in doing so, I accepted myself."
Su Nan continued:
"I should thank you, my own self, for showing me the strength of the potion system during our battle. Rest assured, I won't hesitate any longer."
At that moment, Gray Nan's body began to dissolve, turning into streaks of power that flowed back into Su Nan's body.
Gray Nan, whose mouth had been drawn downward in a scowl, now smiled broadly.
"Hahahaha..."
"You've finally figured it out. As long as you don't fear your own strength and believe in yourself, you'll never be harmed by it."
"Believing in oneself is such a basic thing, isn't it? If you're afraid of your own power, what can you ever accomplish?"
"Su Nan, believe in yourself. Always believe in yourself. Don't fear or doubt your own strength. Together, you and I are invincible."
"You must fully develop the potion system."
"However, don't be too smug just yet. You've merely accepted yourself. We'll meet again in the future. The stronger your magic grows, the stronger I'll become."
With those final words, Gray Nan completely dissipated.
The previous eclipse disappeared, leaving the supermoon shining brightly. The inner world grew brighter, as though dawn had arrived.
Su Nan looked down at the Path of the Wizard under his feet. Smiling, he stepped off the path.
Walking above the gaping abyss of his inner void, he bypassed the shadow blocking the road and rejoined the Path of the Wizard further ahead.
At last, he saw what lay deeper along his wizard's path.
It was the Potion System.
He would carry it forward, continually refining and expanding it. This was his true path as a wizard.
Meanwhile, at the edge of his inner world, Vasilyan knelt on the ground, panting heavily. In front of him loomed the swirling red mist of the Black Death Demon, a dark, malevolent energy invading the space.
The demon gazed at Su Nan's inner world with disgust.
"Too late… He's rid himself of doubt. He's accepted himself. What a vile sight."
"Such a meal has already rotted. It's inedible."
Turning its baleful eyes to Vasilyan, it sneered.
"If it weren't for you, wretched obstacle—"
Vasilyan laughed weakly. He could feel Su Nan channeling magic into him, replenishing his strength. And in that moment, Vasilyan realized Su Nan's magical power had more than doubled.
It was as if his master had split into two, wielding the combined power of both selves.
"My lord has succeeded," Vasilyan whispered.
Standing upright, his black blade radiating death energy, Vasilyan pointed his weapon at the Black Death Demon.
"So long as I stand, you shall not take a single step forward."
"Foolish interloper, leave this place."
The demon hesitated, its form retreating slightly. Su Nan's inner world no longer contained fear or doubt—nothing it could feast upon.
Seeing this, the demon snarled in frustration.
"No matter."
"More wizards will rise again on this land. Anyone with a spirit power above 20 who fears themselves and cannot reconcile with their own mind will be my potential prey."
The demon's shadowy form began to fade as it retreated, its voice lingering ominously:
"But I must commend your wizard for one thing. Using the techniques of energy beings against me… Ingenious. Truly ingenious."
"The future will be very interesting. Such potential prey, should they ever falter, will be extraordinarily delicious. I will continue to watch him from the darkness."
"We shall meet again, Su Nan."
"And to become the first naturally born first-tier wizard apprentice in two thousand years? I must extend a measure of respect for that alone."
At the same time, Su Nan's entire wolf pack, connected through their shared Wolf Pack Effect, sensed his magical power doubling.
Outside the castle, Head Maid Pella wept tears of joy as she saw the first angelic statue return to its place by the fountain, as if marking Su Nan's triumph.
By West Virginia Lake, Blom and Warwick, hidden in the shadows, also felt Su Nan's success.
Blom clenched his fists. "The master has returned. Now, all those scum who dared to harm the master's people must pay. These pests who think they can treat our lord's lands as their playground—they'll regret it."
Warwick, after an initial burst of emotion, composed himself and gazed at the chaotic battlefield by the lake.
"They've made their battlefield in the heart of the Peter Barony? Their audacity is astounding."
Back in the inner world, the scenery returned to its natural state. Su Nan emerged from the trial, now standing in the normal secret realm wilderness.
He noticed his magical symbols within the secret realm had changed. The supermoon now shone brighter, the white castle and abyss had gained new details, and his spirit power had skyrocketed to 25, alongside an equivalent increase in mana.
Moreover, Su Nan felt a unique energy awakening within him—a radiant, blue light, purer than the sky and speckled with starlike brilliance.
The light brimmed with immense magical energy, and Su Nan instinctively understood its potential.
This light, akin to moonlight, could be infused into potions to enhance their quality and effects. Unlike moonlight, which only improved werewolf potions, this Starlight of the Inner Realm could strengthen all his creations.
"This must be my reward for completing the heart-cleansing trial," Su Nan murmured.
"Let's call it the Inner Realm Starlight."
He wondered if other wizards who succeeded in their trials also gained similar inner powers.
With this starlight, Su Nan realized he could reforge and enhance his entire magical system.
Now, he had two objectives:
1. Enhance existing spells using the Inner Realm Starlight.
2. Upgrade all potions to the level of a first-tier wizard apprentice, capable of triple refinements.
Su Nan nodded to the silent Guardian Or, who gave him a deep bow of respect, as if relieved by his success.
Leaving the secret realm, Su Nan returned to his castle study.
Standing by the window, he gazed at the distant battlefield near West Virginia Lake,
where chaos reigned.
"Those who dare wreak havoc in my lands," he whispered, his eyes narrowing, "must face the consequences."
