Warhammer III

Chapter 9: Leviathan's Evolution and Deathwatch

"The Leviathan tentacles attacking the southern part of the Pacific Segmentum are likely to have integrated the genes of the green-skinned orcs. In addition, many imperial worlds in the Pacific Segmentum have basically no defense capabilities. In order to deal with this hive tentacle, Lord Guilliman has ordered the disbanded Indomitable Expedition Third Fleet to regroup in the Storm Segmentum. They will serve as the main fleet to attack the Leviathan Hive Fleet."

Inquisitor Kliptman finally said with a serious expression that this is currently the top secret about the Tyranids and the Empire's mobilization operations.

"Orc genes!"

Tai Yue was also stunned. It seems that this is the reason why the threat level of the Tyranids has increased. If the hive tentacles really integrate the genes of the green-skinned orcs, it means that the Tyranids have evolved again!

"We must destroy the psychic beacon of the Tiamat Hive Fleet as soon as possible to prevent more tentacles of Leviathan from entering the Milky Way from the void. We must complete this task before the Third Fleet is assembled, and then go to the southern part of the Pacific Segmental Region to deal with the threat of Leviathan Hive Tentacles together with the Imperial Forces."

Inquisitor Kliptman nodded, and then he told the story of the Third Tyranid War and the reason why Leviathan acquired the Ork gene.

The Death Watch Killing Team commanded by Inquisitor Kliptman, the Planetary Defense Force, the Astra Militarum, and several Astartes Chapters, paid a huge price, and crushed the "Left Jaw" of the Leviathan Vanguard Fleet on the world of Tasis, destroyed the Tyranid threat closest to Terra, and rebuilt the astropathic connection with the surrounding worlds, allowing the Empire to win its first victory.

But the "Right Jaw" of the Leviathan Vanguard Fleet continued to open up a bloody road within the Empire. In order to buy time for the Imperial Navy and slow down the advance of the Leviathan Fleet, Inquisitor Kliptman ordered the establishment of a cordon, requiring every world within the cordon to evacuate, or even directly exterminate.

This cruel decision not only prevented the Tyranids from getting effective biomass supplements, but also caused these abandoned worlds to be occupied by the Orks, who naturally faced the threat of the Tyranids directly.

The Death Watch then captured a Genestealer from a space wreck and threw it into the territory of the Ork Empire (there are many Ork Empires in the Milky Way, and this is just one of them).

Through this method, the Leviathan Hive Fleet was eventually led to the Octareus system where the Ork Empire was located. The dense galaxies there were full of Orks, and the two alien races began a war of mutual destruction.

Now the result of the war between the Tyranids and the Orks has come out. With the departure of the Ork warlord Bonebreaker from the planet Octareus, the Tyranids have won the final victory, which means that the Tyranids are likely to have absorbed the genes of the Orks and incorporated the characteristics of the Orks into the biological structure of the Tyranids. The Empire will have to face a greater threat than before.

Watch Captain Harkins came over at this time. He was about three meters tall. It was not known whether he had three new organs added or was transformed into a Primaris Space Marine from the beginning.

His power armor was painted black according to the requirements of the Death Watch, and his left shoulder armor was painted bright silver with the logo of the Inquisition, the letter I plus an electronic skull.

The right shoulder armor still retains the logo of the original chapter, with a clenched black fist on a yellow background. He is a Death Watch from the Imperial Fists.

The Death Watch is a unique formation of the Adeptus Astartes, whose members are basically composed of experienced Astartes. As an armed force under the Inquisition, the Death Watch serves the Inquisition, and their sacred mission is to protect humans from alien threats.

The Death Watch was founded in the late "Beast War". The High Lord of Terra realized that the threat facing humans is not just the demons of the warp. There are countless hostile alien civilizations threatening humans throughout the galaxy. It is necessary to establish a special Astartes Chapter to deal with these crises.

The Death Watch is different from other Astartes Chapters. The Astartes serving in the Death Watch are not from a single chapter. All existing Astartes Chapters can send chapter members to join the Death Watch and serve the Inquisition for a period of time.

Taiyue also began to prepare ammunition and supplies. This operation was to enter the dark side of the empire and head to the eastern part of the Ultramarine.

Deathwatch was not divided into ten companies like other Astartes, each company had one hundred Astartes. Instead, it used the kill squad as the basic tactical unit, which was composed of 5-10 Astartes from different chapters.

Kill squads and watch fortresses were spread all over the galaxy. They usually completed a mission and then moved on to the next one. The captain of the watch usually commanded multiple kill squads.

"Lord Kliptman, the captured Eldar Haemonculi have been transported from the warship to the prison of the watch fortress. Do we need to conduct an alien interrogation now?"

Huggins's rough voice sounded next to Inquisitor Kliptman.
