Warhammer III

Chapter 10: Causes and consequences

After the meeting, Inquisitor Kriptman, Sage of Biology Ellen and Captain of the Watch, Harkins, left the Tyranid Research Base and went to the newly built Watch Fortress ‘Storm Wall’ in the synchronous orbit of the planet Davarro to interrogate the Haemonculi of the Dark Eldar.

The Watch Fortress is not only a fortress used by the Death Watch to detain aliens, but also a combat command station, training base, fleet port, and even a forging factory of the Mechanicus.

Unlike the Imperial Navy Lookout Station, the Watch Fortress is a large comprehensive fortress fortress, and there are not many of them. The number of lookout stations is large and the scale is smaller, and they only serve as outpost alarms.

The Watch Fortress is spread throughout the Empire. There are six important Watch Fortresses on the edge of the Solar Star Region, which monitor the alien threats entering the heart of the Empire at any time.

However, the ‘Storm Wall’ Watch Fortress is not used to guard against alien invasions in the Nachmond Corridor and surrounding galaxies. As its name suggests, it is to prevent experimental Tyranid creatures in the Davar galaxy from escaping from this galaxy.

Taiyue and Della went to Uruk, preparing to take Mansa to the research base. The latter will cooperate with Della's research to find out why she was not infected by the Genestealer.

Mansa began to tremble when she saw Della. She recognized that she was one of the biological sages who appeared on the merchant ship "Flesh Defense Line".

Taiyue comforted Mansa while asking Della to tell the truth about the research on Genestealer infection on the merchant ship. Della did not hold back and told the two the whole story.

The merchant ship "Flesh Defense Line" transported genetically modified slaves. These slaves have passed the test. They will not be infected by the alien cells implanted by the Genestealer, but these alien cells are taken from the ovipositors of the dead Genestealer.

The replicants who are immune to infection are the research secrets of the Varnak Circle Sect. They plan to create such sub-humans to prevent the infiltration of Genestealers into the imperial world.

In order to conceal the truth and avoid the pursuit of the Inquisition, the merchant ship's upper cabin continued to transport noble passengers, and Mansha was one of the passengers. Della was invited by her colleagues in the Varnak Circle Sect to board the Flesh Defense Merchant Ship.

After learning that the Genestealers had infiltrated the merchant ship, the biological sage in charge of this research did not let the armed servitors clear the aliens, but let the Genestealers expand the infection because they needed to determine whether these slaves were immune to infection after being directly injected with alien cells by the Genestealers.

The genetically modified replicants were not immune to the infection of the Genestealers, and the Flesh Defense Merchant Ship eventually crashed in the Dan Port of Marsdan, and the relevant research data was also lost.

After experiencing this incident, Della took the initiative to leave the radical Varnak Circle Sect and returned to Mars to join the Metal Seed research team.

Inquisitor Todd and the biological sage of the Varnak Circle sect who participated in this study both believed that the experiment failed. They summarized the reasons for the failure of this study:

The psychic network generated by the Genestealer can promote the proliferation of alien cells. The infection of the Genestealer is not only a biological process, but also a psychic phenomenon. Therefore, the genetically modified replicants can be immune to implanted alien cells, but not to direct infection by the Genestealer.

"Fortunately, Ms. Mansha survived the disaster, and I apologize for not being able to stop the radical behavior of the Varnak Circle sect."

Della expressed her apology. The research of the Varnak Circle sect involved innocent people.

Mansha, who knew what happened, calmed down at this moment and followed Taiyue to the research base.

"Mansha, you are my invited guest here. You can move freely without being restrained. I will pick you up after the research is over."

Taiyue finally said, and Mansha finally felt relieved.

After dealing with Mansa, Taiyue returned to Uruk. He will go to the Empire World in the territory to mobilize the troops for this Tiamat expedition.
