Warhammer III

Chapter 24: Victory and Conclusion

Taiyue and Jerome left the No. 6 psychic turret and headed for the command center when they received a communication from Sisera.

"God bless you, Grand Master, the Hive Tentacles are now moving away from this planet!"

Sisera said excitedly that after the Tyranid ground forces were at a disadvantage, the Tiamat Hive Tentacles that invaded the Nestos system finally began to evacuate the system.

"Send the image of the Hive Fleet's evacuation to the ground forces, and wipe out the Tyranids and Genestealer Sects on the surface in one go!"

Taiyue finally breathed a sigh of relief and immediately issued an order to counterattack. Without the support of the Hive Fleet on the ground, the Tyranid creatures would soon be defeated.

The two quickly returned to the command center, where everyone was busy, happy and full of the joy of victory.

"God bless, the Hive Fleet disappeared at the edge of the galaxy, and the abominable aliens have completely evacuated this galaxy!"

Sister Yinsha reported the evacuation of the Hive Fleet in real time through the combat communication channel. Her moving words inspired the morale of the ground troops.

At the same time, Renus and other surviving members of the Death Watch also guided the ground troops to adopt more effective tactics to counterattack through the combat channel. The Death Watch has accumulated rich experience in the three Tyranid Wars, and the tactical deployment they proposed is more efficient and concentrated.

The coordination of propaganda and tactics not only inspired people's hearts and guided the battle, but also played a vital role in the counterattack of the ground forces.

The morale of the imperial troops was greatly boosted and they bravely rushed to the enemy. All artillery units locked the node creatures on the battlefield and killed the Tyranid commander through intensive attacks. The mechanized troops and air forces quickly harvested the chaotic Tyranid creatures.

Except for some node creatures that resisted stubbornly, most Tyranid creatures began to retreat in an organized manner. Driven by instinct, these Tyranid creatures were ready to hide in the underground maze built by snakes, worms and sand pythons to prepare for the next battle.

Sage Dela led the Skitarii to clear these hidden underground Tyranid creatures and organized technical priests to restore the atmosphere polluted by Tyranid creatures.

The Genestealer Cult not only lost the Chicken Thief Patriarch, but also the God of the Void abandoned them. These hybrid aliens launched a charge in despair and then died in intensive artillery fire.

A ‘young’ pure-blooded Genestealer took over the psychic network. It led the surviving hybrid chicken thieves to escape back to the cave of the lower nest. Taiyue used psychic power to locate their position and completely eliminated them.

During this period, Taiyue and others also captured a Licat alive and recovered a large number of Tyranid node creatures. The bodies, these experimental materials will be transported to the Tyranid Zerg research base in the Nachmond Corridor.

A month later, the expeditionary force basically cleansed the planet of the threats of Tyranids and Genestealers, and Taiyue appointed Clapham, the surviving supreme commander of the Nestos Defense Force, as the new planetary governor.

After Planetary Governor Clapham took office, a grand celebration was held to celebrate the victory against the Tyranids and Genestealer sects, and to celebrate the rebirth of everyone on the planet.

The surviving imperial people hugged each other, sang praises to the Emperor and Master Taiyue, and many people shed tears of joy. Their eyes were shining with the joy of victory, which also gave them the courage to rebuild Nestos.

The Tiamat Expeditionary Force also participated in this celebration. Although they suffered heavy casualties, every warrior's heart was filled with relief and joy, and their tense nerves were relaxed.

As an almighty war machine, the Astartes basically will not participate in mortal celebrations. For them, joining the battle at any time and any place is their duty and mission, without the encouragement of anyone or any form of celebration.

The Ninth Brotherhood and the Killing Squad are holding a post-war summary meeting at the command center of the Blackstone Fortress, summarizing the experience of this Tyranid War and preparing for the next war.

As the captain of the Ninth Brotherhood, Nelson first summarized the casualties of this war.

With its powerful firepower, the Blackstone Fortress controlled one pole of Nestos. Although the number of Tyranid creatures landing on the surface was limited, the Nestos Defense Force was almost wiped out, and the casualties of the Tiamat Expeditionary Force were close to one-third. Among them, the Planetary Defense Forces from various planets suffered the most casualties, followed by the Iron Guards and the Skitarii Forces. The Knight Titans and the Ninth Brotherhood suffered the least casualties.

After being seriously injured, the Ninth Brotherhood activated the mechanical heart. After the metal cells wrapped them, the general Tyranid creatures gave up the attack after they could not destroy the silver metal. The few brothers who died were forcibly killed by large node creatures or biological titans.

Reinus from the Killing Squad shared his experience in dealing with the Tyranids. He believed that the key to defeating the Tyranids was to identify and concentrate firepower to eliminate the node creatures. If local node creatures were eliminated, the local swarm would fall into chaos. If all node creatures were eliminated, all swarms would fall into chaos.

Therefore, before the battle, a lot of resources and time were needed to conduct reconnaissance and intelligence collection on the swarms, and accurately locate those node creatures that played a control and command role. Once the battle started, the primary goal was to concentrate all firepower to eliminate the node creatures first, and then attack the low-level Tyranid creatures that were in chaos.

The most important gain from this Tyranid War was the training of the Tiamat Expeditionary Force. The knowledge and experience they accumulated in this battle could be applied to the next battle with the Tyranids.

At the end of the meeting, Reinus reminded the Ninth Brotherhood:

"This battle also exposed the attack methods of the Blackstone Fortress. The hive consciousness may evolve targeted Tyranid creatures or even biological spacecraft. We need to be extra careful next time we face the hive fleet. The same tactics may not work."

Tai Yue nodded. Infinite evolution is the most terrifying thing about the Tyranids, and it is also the fundamental reason why the Tyranids have become a galaxy-level disaster.

After the meeting, the Ninth Brotherhood launched daily training, which included combat training to deal with Tyranid behemoths. Tai Yue led the technical servitors and technical sergeants to repair the damaged vehicles of the Brotherhood, while Sisela and the relic administrator repaired the Knight Titan.

A few days later, the Astronomican Chanting Class received the latest intelligence, and the chief astrologer Su Jingrong immediately reported the astronomical content to Tai Yue.

Kliptman Inquisitor had just arrived at the Watch Fortress, and with him came the 'Marduk Fleet' he had summoned from the dark side of the Empire. This fleet included warships from multiple Astartes regiments and most of the warships of the Imperial Navy's Karal Fleet.

The operation to destroy the biological constructs guarded by the Tiamat Hive Fleet is about to begin, and the Blackstone Fortress immediately leaves the Nestos System and returns to the Watch Fortress Hartmoth.

(After the end of the Horus Heresy, with the promulgation of Guilliman's Codex, the Space Marines gradually became Astartes monks. They are religious ascetics. They are either in battle or preparing for battle. They basically do not have entertainment and enjoyment, such as drinking, playing cards, or participating in mortal celebrations (except for some founding warbands that still retain the customs of their home planets), so this book basically does not have these plots. In short, the Astartes' love of entertainment and enjoyment is basically the beginning of depravity.)
