The Villainous Family Loves Me Too Much!

Chapter 2

The wedding was going according to my plan.

All the invited guests were first in awe of the beauty of the venue, and then twice more by the stunning beauty of the Prince and his wife.

Wearing a pure white wedding dress against a white backdrop made Beatrice’s vivid pink hair stand out even more.

‘Beatrice’s hair color stands out wherever she is. It was a meticulous plan to focus the guests’ attention on the main character!’

There’s always a girl who tries to stand out at someone else’s wedding. And this fantasy world was no exception.

Even today, when I arrived at the hall, there were many noble ladies entering with flashy adornments.

Some ladies wore peacock feathers of various colors, and one even wore a white dress as if she was the main character of the day. Although she was immediately kicked out.

How rude at an imperial wedding!

I briskly gave orders through the walkie-talkie.

“Turn off all lights except the highlight during the couple’s first dance!”

-Understood, Princess!

This earphone-like walkie-talkie was a magical device made specifically for this wedding with the help of the palace magicians.

It took a while to make since it was crafted by skilled magicians, but thanks to it, I could smoothly manage the wedding proceedings while seated.

‘My hard work is finally paying off!’

Combining the divine power of the Saintess and the Prince can prevent the Empire’s downfall.

In the original work, the two misunderstood and misjudged each other, wasting time, which delayed their union and led to the downfall.

This time, I took the forefront and swiftly concluded their prolonged misunderstandings.

If the two complete their bonding ritual tonight, all hardships will end.

Therefore, I made sure their wedding was as romantic as possible.

“Ready, cue!”

At my signal, all the lights in the hall went dark.

Only the highlight lighting for Gabriel and Beatrice shone in the darkness, smoothly following their movements.

“Wow!”

But what elicited everyone’s exclamation was something else.

‘Dance on the water!’

Under the lights, the dancing couple looked like two swans gracefully sliding on water.

To create this miraculous sight, I mobilized my special ability and the high-ranking magicians of the palace to invent an innovative lighting technique.

The technique made the floor where the light shone temporarily turn into a water surface, so that when stepped on, it created ripples like water.

A dramatic display symbolically showcasing the dignity of the Crown Prince who possesses the ‘Power of Water’.

Seeing the end result was more satisfying than I expected.

“Look at their noble demeanor! Surely, they are the future Emperor and Empress of Castien!”

“Oh! It feels like a sacred place that this humble body shouldn’t dare to look upon!”

When the beautiful first dance fitting for the novel’s ending finished, Gabriel asked me for the second dance.

“What will the Crown Princess do?”

“Princess. Prince Liam is by my side, so it’s okay. Don’t worry, go to the center of the hall quickly.”

“Yes, Rena. I’ll escort the Crown Princess. Your brother is waiting for you, right?”

Liam, holding Beatrice’s hand, smiled brightly at me, and only then did I feel relieved and walked towards Gabriel.

“I wonder if our little one can dance properly.”

“Brother, even at parties, I’m more of an expert than you, you know?!”

“Really? I don’t remember that. Shall we see?”

As I was about to start the waltz in rhythm with Gabriel,

BOOM.

Suddenly, from somewhere, a huge sound shook as if the whole world was vibrating.

At the same time, there was a flash of light, and the ground began to shake madly.

“Ahh! Save us!”

“Everyone, run!”

“Knights! Protect the Emperor!”

The world was collapsing.

‘What? A happy ending is just around the corner; this can’t be happening!’

Cracks formed on the floor, and flames erupted from the kitchen attached to the Glass Hall, spreading uncontrollably and consuming everything.

Chefs were running out, but one by one, they were tragically consumed by the monstrous flames.

BOOM.

Another collision sound echoed, and all the glass inside the hall shattered instantly.

‘What should I do?’

While I was panicked, Beatrice and Gabriel were desperately fighting against this disaster.

As sharp glass shards attacked the people, Beatrice used her divine power to deflect the falling debris outside.

Gabriel used his water ability to douse those who were on fire.

Thanks to the quickly spread water, all the fire inside the hall went out instantly, plunging us into total darkness.

“Rena, summon the light! We can’t see anything and can’t do anything!”

“Got it, brother!”

My ability as a princess was ‘Power of Light’. I could summon light in any situation.

Upon Gabriel’s desperate cry, I closed my eyes and summoned the light.

But when I opened them, Gabriel was gone.

“Brother!”

A massive wormhole had formed where Gabriel stood.

Inside the grotesquely large pit, a whirlwind of light and darkness raged.

“Ahh!”

A nobleman, whose name I didn’t know, was sucked into the pit and instantly incinerated upon touching the whirlwind.

He turned into black ash in a blink of an eye.

Shaken by the horrific tragedy unfolding before me, my entire body trembled.

“Re…na.”

Hearing the familiar voice, I approached the wormhole.

“Brother!”

Gabriel was barely holding onto the edge of the wormhole. He was in such a precarious situation that he could be sucked in at any slight mistake.

“Brother, grab my hand and climb up slowly.”

Trying to suppress my rising tears, I stretched out my hand to Gabriel.

Holding onto my right hand with one of his and the rough wall of the wormhole with the other, Gabriel took it step by step.

Then, without my intention, my right index finger suddenly retracted.

“Ugh!”

Relying on my hand for support, Gabriel staggered and bumped into the wall. It was a close call, and he almost fell.

“I’m sorry, brother. My hand isn’t listening to me.”

“It’s okay, Rena. Just relax.”

Gabriel, having regained his posture, calmly pulled himself up.

“Now you just need to climb up one more step. When I count to three and jump, you have to pull me up.”

“Got it, brother.”

Finally, one of Gabriel’s hands reached up and touched the ground. All that was left was for him to grab my hand and jump up.

“One, two, three!”

Gabriel leaped powerfully upward, and I used all my strength to pull him up.

But once again, my hand moved on its own, as if someone was controlling me.

Contrary to my intention, all five fingers opened at once, letting go of Gabriel’s hand.

“Brother!”

By the time I came to my senses, it was already too late.

Gabriel was sucked into the whirlwind of the wormhole. No matter how much I reached out, I couldn’t touch him.

As soon as Gabriel’s shoulder touched the vortex, a bright flash occurred, and the wormhole vanished as if it had never existed, taking Gabriel with it.

People sat down, staring blankly at where the wormhole had been.

A heavy silence lingered, and no one dared to face reality.

“No… Gabriel…”

Breaking the silence was Beatrice.

She fainted while calling Gabriel’s name sorrowfully, and Liam caught the collapsing Beatrice.

I stood there, looking at the empty ground.

I bit my lip hard enough to bleed, trying to hold back tears, but soon, teardrops wetted my cheeks.

My beloved brother.

The Crown Prince of the Castien Empire.

Gabriel Alexion Leblanc, he died like that.
