Chapter 18
Like a wild beast that found its prey, the villainous siblings’ eyes sparkled for a moment, but Baron Delfia and his sons began to attack without hesitation or fear.
“I will, ugh, report you to the Emperor, ugh, immediately!”
“Emperor, ugh, will be informed, ugh, about this!”
The Archduke didn’t even blink. Instead, he continued calmly as if he had anticipated this.
“Go ahead, I am curious to see what the Emperor will say when you report me. Feel free to tell him everything.”
“Ugh, to insult, ugh, the grace of the Empire, ugh, and even curse it, ugh, isn’t it true, ugh!”
Unlike the confident brothers, Priscilla, who appeared to be bothered, stood silently without saying a word.
Seeing her like that, the Archduke smirked with a twitch of his lips.
“Oh, what should we do? Looks like we must punish Lady Delfia first.”
“What, ugh!”
“Oh, because all I did was replicate the curse that Lady Delfia had placed on the Princess. The idea of an Ivesernense curse on a royal, the Emperor will surely… love it, right?”
The previously composed face of the Baron suddenly turned pale and flushed.
“It seems you’ve said all you needed to, Baron Delfia.”
Grandfather-in-law finally spoke.
With his one sentence, the atmosphere in the reception room turned eerily quiet.
Toc, toc.
With every step my grandfather-in-law took, a chilling and threatening aura enveloped the room.
Is this the true aura of a villain?
With every word, every motion, grandfather-in-law exuded an ominous aura, incomparable to the Archduke.
Grandfather-in-law crossed his arms and looked disdainfully at the Baron.
“Let me make it clear. Our Felosite family has never once considered marrying into the Delfia family. And…”
From grandfather-in-law’s hands, black smoke gathered and began to billow like flames.
It was magic.
He casually raised his finger and drew a circle, and in that moment, black flames engulfed the people of the Delfia family.
“My cute and lovely granddaughter-in-law has been subjected to such disgrace by your family. It seems your family needs some moral education.”
Well, perhaps dropping the endearing terms would be better in this situation…
“Ah! Oh, my lord.”
Baron Delfia collapsed to the floor as his legs gave way, while the Baroness and Priscilla clung to each other, sobbing.
Whether foolish or daring, the three sons drew their swords.
But with a simple gesture from the Archduke, all the swords dropped from their hands and clattered to the floor.
“Anyway…”
Grandfather-in-law continued as he stroked his chin.
“You wanted to become a citizen of Felosite, came to my son as the owner of the Delfia Merchant Guild pledging to contribute for the citizens. That was 5 years ago.”
Walking towards the Baron lying flat on the floor, the grandfather-in-law’s actions were leisurely but carried restrained fury.
“You swore loyalty to Felosite before being a citizen of the Empire, didn’t you? Now you dare to threaten to report the Felosite royal family to the Emperor?”
Grandfather-in-law stepped over the blazing black flames surrounding the Baron and bent down.
Even from a distance, I could feel the intense heat, but it seemed to not bother him at all.
“Baron Delfia and his family shall return and await punishment. Oh, and just so you know, my grandson is much more vicious than I am, so things won’t end just with words, hehe.”
Grandfather-in-law winked at me as he sat back down.
Indeed, in this universe, my grandfather-in-law was the ultimate villain.
“Take your brats and leave right now.”
With a wave of his hand, grandfather-in-law extinguished all the flames. The Delfia family hurriedly left the reception room.
But even amidst all this, Priscilla seemed unrepentant.
“Good luck with the… wedding. Though I doubt it will go well.”
With malice in her eyes, she left those last words along with a vicious stench as she turned away.
But this time, I had no intention of quietly letting Priscilla go.
“Huh? Ahh!”
Priscilla fell flat on the floor as she stumbled forward.
She didn’t know, but she had tripped over my foot which I had subtly stuck out.
With a show of indifference, she tried to stand up straight but her legs slipped apart.
Priscilla struggled in that position. Perhaps the floor was slippery as the maids had just finished cleaning.
No, who asked someone to come so rudely at this time?
The Felosite family, who witnessed this ridiculous scene, bit their lips to hold back their laughter.
“Brothers! Help me out!”
Priscilla called for her brothers, but there was nobody around her. The young men of Delfia, terrified, had already distanced themselves and were walking away quickly.
Unable to hold back laughter anymore, Sylonne burst out laughing.
“Hahaha! Oh, I can’t hold it in! This is really funny.”
“Damn it! Why is it like this today, seriously!”
With her face red, Priscilla could only bang on the cold marble floor and grumble.
“Lady Priscilla, are you alright?”
When I extended my hand to her, Priscilla looked surprised, but she soon averted her eyes and smacked my hand away hard.
“I don’t need help.”
Yeah, I figured.
I gave her a bright smile.
“I feel the same.”
I deliberately curled one side of my lip, showing a smirk.
Remembering the stern look my grandfather-in-law had earlier, I looked down at Priscilla.
‘Will this feel intimidating?’
I also raised the corners of my lips. Now it’s time for a stronger uppercut.
“Try your best with your marriage. Although I don’t know if it’s possible. Oh, and I wonder if anyone would approach you with that stench.”
I scowled at Priscilla and covered my nose as I turned around.
At that moment, I saw a red-eyed man who looked at me and chuckled.
‘Those eyes, those eyes… Really… No matter how many times I see them, I can’t get used to them.’
But that expression looked very proud. It wasn’t my illusion.
He walked straight out toward the stairs, and behind me, I heard Priscilla cursing.
It seemed like she was stomping angrily and stumbled again.
“Our sister-in-law is really to my liking.”
Sylonne was laughing so hard she was nearly fainting.
The door to the reception room closed, and it was quiet again.
For a moment, because of the visit of Baron Delfia, the place was a mess, but the servants were calmly cleaning up.
“The wedding is really a problem, sister.”
“That’s right. Our grandchildren were so incapable, we didn’t prepare for a wedding at all. It’s a big deal. I’m sure those wicked Delfia folks will use some nefarious tactics.”
The charisma from before was gone, and the family was gathered together, looking worried.
Who would think these people were villains?
“Don’t worry too much, grandfather-in-law and mother-in-law. With Delgado and you, I’ll try. I had prepared everything for Prince Gabriel’s wedding too.”
I confidently spoke in front of my family.
That’s how it was then. But…
3. A Story Only I Didn’t Know
“There’s not a single piece of fabric left?”
I shouldn’t have spoken so carelessly.
I had confidently told my family that I could handle it, but when I actually faced it, I encountered obstacles from the start.
“I’m sorry, Your Highness. We had prepared plenty of fabric, but this morning, the Delfia merchants bought it all…”
It was already the fifth shop.
We had visited the shop to look for drapery fabric, recalling the handmade decorations made during Gabriel’s wedding, but oddly, not a single piece of white and frill fabrics were left.
“When will the items be restocked?”
“That… we don’t know exactly.”
The shop owner looked troubled as he bowed his head.
“Actually, our supplier is from the Delfia market. Usually, we only get supplies from there once a year, but the amount given to us is not fixed.”
“What do you mean? The amount is not fixed?”
