The Tangled Threads of Love

Chapter 5: Chapter 5 - Study Room

Prince Hendrix was in his secret room while studying the poison in the foods they brought. He put the food in the water and there he made the examination. He put some mixture there to know what would happen if it was mixed with other drinks and chemicals.
After a few minutes, there was nothing happened. It made him confused as he was not doing the right thing. He went to the library to do the research in his study room.
It was almost lunch when he didn't know something about the poison. "Why am I so dumb?" He was thinking about asking for help but who was he going to be with?
He put his hands on his head and he wanted to burst his anger. "What am I going to do?"
His butler went in and said that there was someone who wanted to meet him.
"Tell him to go here." He stood up from his chair and fixed his clothes. He managed to look in the mirror to see his face.
"Your greetings, Prince Hendrix." He gave Prince Hendrix a perfect smile and bowed at him.
He was right. He was the poor boy he met last night. He had this idea that he could use him to know what was going around the corner of the four Kingdoms. He was sure he could do something and save the whole nation.
"What do you need?" Prince Hendrix was breathing fine as he wanted to see what would happen if he used this poor boy. "Have a seat."
"Thank you, Prince Hendrix." The poor boy sat on the chair and he fixed his clothing. He was looking around the study room and it was bigger than his study room.
"Wait, how did you pass the gate?" Prince Hendrix's brows met as he remembered that he was the poor boy he met last night.
He smiled at him and was proud. "I used to climb the wall."
"What?" Prince Hendrix was shocked and he smirked. "Looks like you're a monkey."
The poor boy rolled his eyes but he stopped when he realized it was the prince staring at him.
"Now, you look disrespectful. You have no manners." Prince Hendrix was angry at him.
The poor boy acted how other people used to do when they were in this situation. He apologized by kneeling. "I deserve to die. Please spare me this once."
Prince Hendrix let out his boisterous laugh as he could see the fear in the poor boy's eyes. "Look, I am not here to kill you."
The poor boy looked down on the ground while the prince was laughing. "Just sit down and we'll talk."
The poor boy was nervous and his body was a little shaking. He never thought about his looks now.
Princess Zakia was almost caught in her disguise. She should be careful next time she would act naturally as a princess. Maybe, she should change how she moves and talks to cover up things.
"As I thought..." Prince Hendrix stopped mentioning the poison and stood. He carried the poor boy's seat and put it near him. "I think you should be close to where I am."
Princess Zakia was stunned and uncomfortable at his presence. He was too close to her. It was her first time to be with a man. A long time ago, she was only in her bedroom hall and in the garden to breathe fresh air. She could do everything she wanted but there were no interactions with other people around her. She was trained to be alone while her sibling was enjoying going to school and she was studying in her study room.
Sometimes she was jealous of what her sibling had. Her attention was only on herself and she knew that all people around her were mean to her. She knew that she was the girl who was born unlucky and look at her now, she was with Prince Hendrix.
"Are you paying attention?" Prince Hendrix stomped his feet on the ground. She flinched because of his actions and she wasn't giving him any importance now. He called his butler and asked the maids to give food for them.
The two went silent for a few minutes. He made her hide beside the bookshelf to cover her from his maids. If they saw her, she would be punished by the law.
Her eyes went wide when she saw the foods that she had not yet seen with her eyes. "It looks delicious." She smiled and touched the plate but the prince tapped her hand.
"Stop touching it. You should wash your hands before eating." His butler put out the basin and there she washed her hands.
"This is how the prince lives every day." She smiled at him and went back to her seat.
"Yes, this is how I live. I can do everything I want." He kept his arms and smirked.
Princess Zakia's eyes were full of happiness when she started eating the red bean buns.
"Wait!" Prince Hendrix seemed to be compulsive about cleanliness and he added, "Please use the utensils for eating." He gave her the fork and she was amused about his patience because his patience a while ago was shorter than now.
She realized she was smiling more often than being at home alone and nobody wanted to talk with her. She wanted to be here for more hours and be free from her bedroom hall. Even if she knew that she would be punished by her parents. It was her great joy now to be free for a while. In addition, she wanted to enjoy things outside the palace.
Prince Hendrix was looking at her while he was amused by her looks. She was cute in his eyes and he remembered someone with those captivating eyes. He wanted to find out the truth about the poor boy's identity so he put a pill in the food to make him fall asleep.
When he was staring at the side of the study room, Princess Zakia gave him a bun and she was happy about making fun of him. She giggled as she saw his eyes angrily.
"Eat some red bean buns." She went back to her seat and enjoyed drinking the alcohol. She put a drink in front of him and made him drink half of the bottle.
