The Tangled Threads of Love

The night was full of stars and the moon. Princess Zakia changed her clothes to go out of the Kingdom of Samdrathania. She wore the men's garb which made her look like a man. 
She gave a smile on her reflection on the mirror and stepped out of the palace. She saw her maid drooling outside and she ran as fast as she could so nobody would see her out of her bedroom hall. The outside world was full of adventure and she wondered how people were doing there. She went to the market to buy rice cake and toasted bread. 
"I'll buy all of this." The man bought all of her favorite foods. She went in front of him and was shocked. It was Prince Hendrix who was standing there. 
"What?" He broke the silence between them and he reached for the food. When she didn't utter any word, he turned his back on her, but she stopped him. 
"What are you doing with my favorite foods?" She was grumpy at him, never wondering if he would punish her this time. 
"Just step out of my way, little kid." He stopped her by touching her forehead. He was a bit taller than her height. She couldn't reach his head and she wanted to give up. That was why she stopped attacking him. 
"Come here, little kid. I know you like these." A man was offering her food. When she reached it, Prince Hendrix stopped her from eating. The rice cake fell on the ground and she was furious. 
"My food." She was sad and taken by Prince Hendrix away from the market. "Hey, get me off! Get me off!" She was afraid of how he was carried by him. It looked like he was carrying a sack of rice and she was embarrassed.
"You, poor little boy. Your weight is just a gram of rice." He chuckled and got her off his shoulder. 
"What do you want from me?" She was hugging herself to protect her body.
"Just don't accept any food from the other people there or anywhere." He was sure of it and it made her trust his word. 
"Why do I need to do that? They are kind people here." She was sure because it was her experience that made her enjoy outside the palace. 
"It has poison." His butler decided to warn her because he still cared for her safety. 
"You don't know what was happening outside the palace. There were many people here who were starving. You can see them in their homes." Prince Hendrix was serious while her grumpy face turned shocked about the truth. She wanted to do something about this so she was planning to have an adventure outside the market and check the situation of the people living there. 
Prince Hendrix was investigating the scarcity of food and water around the four kingdoms. He was worried about what would happen if there were starving people dying around without noticing the four kingdoms. He was afraid of being blamed for this so he started gathering information around the town and he was asking his men to privately investigate this situation. He thought about the treason planned by the people behind all of this or maybe, something phenomena were coming to the four kingdoms not noticing the palace. He thought this would be a big trouble for all. 
"I thought you were a poor little boy. I think you should know well the real situation here." Prince Hendrix smelled the food and gave it all to her.
"Why did you smell it?" She smelled the food and made her stop asking. She knew what was the familiar smell. "It has poison." 
She was familiar with the smell of poison because she was almost poisoned by maids when she was a kid. Now, she was taking good care of herself and she was angry at herself that she didn't notice any change in the food.
"Now that you already know the truth. Let me ask you to join hands with me." He offered something nice that made her smile. She could use him to have some men uncovering the truth about this situation. 
"Okay." She offered him a pinky promise which made him laugh. 
"You, little kid." He made a pinky promise to her not knowing her real identity. He smiled at her and she smiled wryly back at him.
Princess Zakia realized she had something to do to stop the starving people from dying. She brought the food to her bedroom hall and secretly put it in her drawer to check tomorrow. She went to her bed and started resting until she fell asleep.
Prince Hendrix was busy thinking about the little boy they met a while ago. He was sure that he knew that captivating eyes. She was thinking about Princess Zakia who had those same eyes with that poor little boy. He was wondering if she had a son already and her family hid it. "No, it shouldn't be." 
"Prince Hendrix, you should take a rest now. We are busy tomorrow for investigation." His butler was worried about his health and that he should obey him. 
"I need to find the truth." He fell asleep after thinking about Princess Zakia and the little boy's the same appearance.
The long night was over and it made Princess Zakia's eyes red and she went back to her bed to rest more. 
"Princess Zakia, this is your breakfast now." The maid was offering her favorite foods and she instantly got up because she remembered her duty today, the poisoned food. 
"Just wait until I finish taking a bath." 
She quickly got up and washed her face with soap and water and she went to the bathtub. It was more relaxing for her mind and body. It made her think about a secret plan to investigate and use Prince Hendrix as her motive. 
She went out in the fresh looking color of the dress and had breakfast to be ready for her investigation with Prince Hendrix. After eating, she closed her bedroom hall and asked the maid to be attentive to who would be getting in there. She closed her secret room inside her bedroom hall to make sure it was safe for her to study the poison.
