Chapter 15: Diverting Disaster
Bane prepared for whatever the women were going to do to him. Considering how these two just set aside their differences, he figured there was a chance that the other three women, but he wasn't about to throw them to these wolves. Bane had made a promise, and knowing that he was going to have two wives made him think that two more wouldn't be that bad. Pure male brain logic.
"There are three women from the Demon World that came with me," Bane replied, and the wall cracked behind him as he felt the pressure from both women increase.
"Who?" Nina asked with a growl, and Bane sighed.
"Three women. I am not going to say anything else, and neither of you will ask me about them any more. If you think I have messed around with them in an intimate way, Eve can confirm that I haven't, "Bane explained, but then groaned. "They were insistent about taking me to bed, but I resisted them every step of the way. You can ask Eve, they were all relentless, but I put up my divine wall of "Begone Hoe" aura, and kept them away!"
Nina frowned as she looked over at Lysia, and then they both looked back at Bane.
"Why are you acting like you are hiding something?" Lysia asked, but Bane shook his head.
"Because if I told you anything else, then it might make you feel some type of way, and I don't want to deal with it. Besides, they are powerful warriors that would make great allies if we ever get into a real war. All they want is for me to take them as wives, but I told them they have to ask you first.," Bane explained, but then put up a finger as Lysia looked like she was about to say something. "I changed them all into respectable forms that aren't demons, but I am not going to tell you their names, or forms. Considering that you two are part of the originals that created this village, I am sure you will figure them out sooner than later. That being said, I think you both should consider at least one of them. The other is a bit harder to like, while the last is an annoying bitch, and I would be disappointed in both of you if you picked her."
Both women just stared at him, neither sure how to react or what to say to what they just heard. Nina didn't have as much voice as Lysia in this matter, but both of them seemed beyond words.
"I know it sounds crazy, but they all deserve a second chance, and they are going to need it if they are to fit in here. While I won't stop you from killing them if you don't like them, I think you should at least give them a chance. I know that you are going to meet them soon enough, and I am going to be honest with you. I don't hate two of them, but the other is just here due to circumstances," Bane said, and then gently removed their hands from his body.
He knew that this was a bad situation. Two women having to deal with three other women that wanted him for himself, not because he was strong, or some other bullshit like that. Both Lysia and Nina looked away, clearly thinking about what he had said.
"I knew something like this was going to happen, but I hoped that I could be the first and marry you before any others," Lysia pouted, and Bane pulled her into his chest.
"If I am being honest, I wouldn't care if you said that you didn't want anyone to love me but you, and I would be fine with it. While these other women seem to love me, I love you, not them. If you want to keep them around, then I will learn to love them, but I am not saving the world for anyone but you. My mission is to destroy anything in the path of me spending the next foreseeable eternity with you, and anyone you approve of," Bane said, and Lysia looked up at him, eyes wide.
"Really?" Lysia asked, and Bane nodded, kissing her on the forehead.
"If it was only you, then I would be happy, but you are the one I love, and I am more than willing to add anyone you deem worthy to our family," Bane replied, and then kissed Lysia.
Nina's spear vanished as she watched the two kiss, and then she turned away, not sure what to do with herself. She could understand Bane's words, and Lysia's feelings, but she had never felt this way about a man, and she knew that she would live for eternity regretting not even trying to get close to him. She would never forgive herself for this, but she also knew that it was the right thing to do. Bane deserved more than just her, even if she loved him.
Bane pulled away from Lysia's lips, and then gently pushed her back. He wanted to hug Nina, but had no clue how this new dynamic was supposed to work.
"Hey," Bane said as he walked up behind Nina and placed his hand on her shoulder.
Nina turned and looked at Bane, and then pulled him into a hug. Bane returned the hug, and gently rubbed her back as he felt tears fall down his shoulder.
"I love you too," Nina whispered, and Bane smiled.
"I know, but it is fine. It is going to be fine," Bane said as he held onto her, and felt a pair of arms wrap around his waist.
"This girl had always followed me helplessly," Lysia groaned from behind Bane. "But I never thought that she would have grown to love my mate. I never wanted to share you with anyone, but if I can't stop this, then I might as well give in, because you would always end up with more and more wives, and I wouldn't have a choice but to accept it."
Bane turned his head from both women with a complicated look. His time in the demon world had helped him grow stronger, but it had also made his life dramatically more complicated.
'Do you think you will be able to handle them? Four more seems like it could be a bit too much,' Eve asked, and Bane frowned.
'I don't know, but it isn't like I have much in the way of options. I have said my piece to Lysia, and I meant every word of what I said. If she decides with full conviction that she wants me all to herself, then I will pull all these women from my mind, and devote all my being to making her happy,' Bane thought back to Eve, who seemed to sigh in his head.
'You have a heart of gold, you know that right?' Eve asked, and Bane shook his head.
'No, I am just trying to think about the one person that has given me purpose in this world you shit me into. I love those close to me with a fierceness that would cause me to do some unthinkable shit if anyone were to hurt them. Everyone else is sliced bread,' Bane thought back, and Eve was silent for a while.
'I like sliced bread,' Eve thought, and Bane snorted.
