Chapter 37
Jiang You took out a document from his briefcase and handed it to Ling Yue, "This is my proposal, take a look." This proposal was something he had prepared specifically for this meeting. Compared to just explaining it verbally, presenting it this way would be more visual and detailed, preventing any omissions.
Ling Yue took the proposal and flipped through it.
After a moment, she closed the proposal, "Your proposal is well done, but I have some suggestions. Would you like to hear them?"
"Sure," Jiang You looked at Ling Yue with a serious expression, a hint of anticipation in his heart.
"I think you could incorporate some specific elements, such as private spaces where users can record their lives and little secrets they don't want others to know about. Also music, games, novels... These could be offered as paid services on top of the free basic package. For example, users could pay to decorate their private spaces with page themes and accessories. Music and novels could use a subscription model. Game equipment could be divided into tiers, with users having to pay to use higher-tier equipment."
The more Jiang You listened, the more he admired Ling Yue. The things she mentioned were aspects he had never thought of. When he founded Dolphin Company, his initial intention was to allow people to connect through a virtual online world, hoping his company's chat software would become an indispensable communication tool.
"What do you think?" Ling Yue smiled at Jiang You, her eyes brimming with confidence.
Jiang You nodded vigorously, his eyes filled with excitement, "Okay, I think your suggestions align well with the demands of today's youth. I'm willing to give it a try. I hope we can become partners."
Ling Yue smiled faintly, "I can invest in you, but I hope to become the company's largest shareholder."
Jiang You pondered for a moment, "Alright, I agree." He believed that under Ling Yue's leadership, the company would only get better and better.
"Then let's work together happily!" Ling Yue stood up and extended her hand.
Jiang You stood up as well and shook her hand, "Let's work together happily!"
At that moment, the private room's door was pushed open, and Yukihiko Oda entered with a few men in black suits. He smiled at Jiang You, "Mr. Jiang, I heard you were here, so I took the liberty of coming over."
Jiang You withdrew his hand and forced a thin smile, "What brings you here, Mr. Oda?" He, of course, knew Oda's intentions, but even if he hadn't found Ling Yue as a partner, he wouldn't work with him. He disliked the Japanese.
"Of course, it's to discuss a partnership with you." Yukihiko Oda sat down in the empty space next to Jiang You. "To show my sincerity, I can sign a contract with you on the spot. My requirements aren't high; I only need 30% of the company's shares."
He and his friends had analyzed Jiang You's company. In the future, Jiang You's company would likely reach unimaginable heights in the country. If he could control a portion of the shares, he would have a say in decision-making and could access certain information through specific means.
Jiang You put on an apologetic smile, "Sorry! I already have a partner. Maybe we can work together another time, Mr. Oda." He loved seeing the look of disappointment on the Japanese man's face. He found it quite satisfying.
Yukihiko Oda clenched his fist under the table, but the smile didn't leave his face, "Your partner wouldn't happen to be Mr. Liu Yan, would it?" He had naturally investigated Liu Yan. At one point, he had intended to invest in Liu Yan's company, but when he wanted to discuss a partnership, he received information that Liu Yan didn't need funding, so he had to give up.
Jiang You glanced at Ling Yue and received her signal, "That's a business secret, I'm afraid I can't disclose it. Mr. Oda, my friend and I still have matters to discuss today, so I can't entertain you. I'll invite you out for a meal another time when I'm free."
Yukihiko Oda narrowed his eyes, a chilling glint showing through, but the smile remained on his face, "Very well, I won't disturb you any further."
Yukihiko Oda stood up and left the private room. After the door closed, he turned and gave one of the black-suited men behind him a subtle signal.
That man understood and nodded slightly.
After finalizing the partnership details, the dishes Ling Yue and the others ordered were served.
"The Huixiang Building specializes in Hui cuisine. This smelly mandarin fish is their specialty, and the braised pork is quite good too." Liu Yan picked up a piece of meat from the fish belly with the shared chopsticks and handed it to Ling Yue, "Try it."
"Thank you!" Ling Yue took her bowl and accepted the fish meat.
The three of them chatted as they ate, and time flew by. By the time they finished their meal and left the restaurant, it was almost evening.
"I'll come to your company to sign the contract tomorrow," Ling Yue and Jiang You had already discussed some partnership details, leaving only the contract signing remaining.
"Okay, I'll wait for you at the company at 9 AM tomorrow." Jiang You felt relieved now that the weight on his mind had finally lifted.
"Alright, see you tomorrow. Oh, this is for you." Ling Yue took out a yellow talisman from her pocket and handed it to Jiang You.
Jiang You accepted the talisman, looking at it with puzzlement, "What's this?" It looked like one of those amulets people buy at temples for protection. He didn't understand why Ling Yue gave this to him.
"A protection talisman. I noticed your fate was darkening recently, so you might encounter some troubles soon. This talisman has the power to avert misfortune and help you overcome three crises." Ling Yue had full confidence in the talismans she drew. Unlike the ones sold outside, hers contained real power.
Back when she ascended to become a deity, in addition to her formidable abilities, her talisman crafting skills were a key factor. She was the only talisman master in the entire realm who could create ninth-level talismans. This was also why other countries didn't dare provoke her nation.
If she hadn't fallen in love with that man, giving her a weakness, she wouldn't have been dethroned and ended up in this world.
Jiang You's lips twitched, but he extended his hand to accept the talisman and put it in his pocket, "Well, thank you then." He had never believed in such things, but he didn't want to reject Ling Yue's goodwill.
"You're welcome!" Ling Yue knew Jiang You didn't believe in the talisman's effects, but it didn't matter. He would soon find out. This was a second-level talisman. If Jiang You wasn't her business partner and she didn't want anything to happen to him, she wouldn't have given him a second-level talisman. Who would have thought that now she could only craft second-level talismans?
After parting with Ling Yue and Liu Yan, Jiang You carried his briefcase to his bicycle, using his key to unlock the bike lock. He had originally wanted to buy a car, but since he was still in the startup phase, he had to save money where he could.
