Chapter 79
Covered with a blanket and armed with a pillow, I exited the carriage as it stood completely still. My hunger was driving me insane, but luckily not enough to pounce at everything I saw instantly. Instead, I sneaked up to the campfire a few metres away, carefully laid the pillow on the ground and sank my teeth into the unsuspecting coachmen from behind. He struggled, flailed around wildly, but my deadly hug that came afterwards made all his attempts futile. He died within a matter of seconds and fell to the side as I let go of him.
“What?” I asked Tom who was on the other side of the campfire and didn’t utter a single word so far.
“Nothing … it is just that I kind of became friends with Lucius.” He explained. It saddened me to hear that he got friends with him, especially because it was so obvious that this man needed to die. He already knew too much about me to keep him alive after all. Uninterested, I rolled the corpse into the fire and stared at Tom while the skin of the coachman slowly charred.
Tom was a mystery to me, more than ever before. He was scared of death, that was for sure, but he was also tempting me to end his life quite often because he just couldn’t resist his own emotions. Strangely satisfied by his development, I sat down on my pillow and held my hands close to the fire.
“Was it fascinating to hear me moan like a slut? Did you get off from seeing how my unripe chest got kneaded by another man? Did you like what you see?” I asked with a seductive voice and revealed my bare chest to him. He didn’t even look downwards once, a bit contrary to what I assumed he was after. “No … you were getting off from the corruption that befell Arthur. You aren’t after me, you are after the darkness that lives within me.” I concluded and wrapped the blanket around me again.
“Close. You are right, I seek out the darkness more than anything else by now. I didn’t realize it as I still lived with the bandits, but you,” He stood up and walked around the fire to kneel in front of me. “you opened my eyes to the truth. I love the darkness, I love breaking all the morals my parents uselessly punched into me, and I love the chaos you spread.” He caressed my cheek with the back of his hand as if he was touching something precious and fragile. I smiled, leaned my head to the side and locked his hand between my cheek and my shoulder.
“And yet, you are wrong about yourself. There is no darkness within you, you are the darkness. And just like you claimed, I seek out the darkness that is you. I want you, I love you, from the bottom of my heart. There isn’t a single shred of light penetrating your whole being … except on one rare occasion.”
I carefully grabbed his locked hand and brought it in front of my mouth. I smiled sweetly as I looked into his eyes that were glowing with a pink hue.
“Are you saddened that I will give my best to protect children?” I asked slightly curious and eyed the veins in his hand with interest.
“If the devil likes children, so be it.” He made me grin in happiness. I showed him my lengthy incisors and brought my mouth even closer to his hand.
“Are you prepared to die for me?” I asked, full of hope.
“I am willing to become this thing inside the carriage to be forever by your side.” Finally, a bit of the potential he had was fulfilled. I was tempted to grant his wish right then, but I just couldn’t do it. I brought my open mouth closer to his hand until my cold breath made his hairs stand upright. My teeth were already skimming across his skin as I closed my mouth, and kissed his hand.
“The time isn’t right for that yet.” I said a bit saddened that it would take many more years for me to turn him into a vampire.
“You will never trust me completely until you turned me into a vampire though.” He tried to coax me into giving him what he desired, but he would have to do a better job than this to grant him my blood.
“Come with me.” I said and lead him towards the carriage with a seductive smile on my lips. I was adamant about showing him what he desired and maybe, just maybe he would change his opinion.
After entering, I opened the curtains and let the moonlight in. It was enough for Tom to see everything, from Arthur who was slowly breathing on the floor, to me who was beaming in delight.
“Straddle him.” I ordered and watched Tom how he sat down on Arthur´s exposed belly. I crossed my legs just as Arthur woke up and started to flail around wildly. “And now strangle him to death.” And then, I watched how everything unfolded in amusement.
