Chapter 6: The First Class (Part 1)
The next morning,Natsuhiko entered the classroom the moment the bell rang, finding more than thirty students already seated inside.
Although it seemed like a decent number, in reality, it was the combined total of all the grades. Even though the Sealing Jutsu class reopened two years ago, the continuous disruptions in teaching by previous sensei and their tragic conclusions, made many students give up on this course.
To boost the enrollment, the class originally meant for third-year students and above, started accepting second-year students this year. However, the total number of students across all grades was still quite low.
Sarutobi Biwako had decided to merge several grades into one class to simplify things, and it turned out to be convenient for Natsuhiko. He only needed to teach one class, thrice per week.
Natsuhiko walked towards the podium, placed his textbook on the desk, and scanned the entire classroom.
Among the students seated below, Natsuhiko noticed many familiar faces. Even Uchiha Obito, who he hadn't seen before, sat beside Nohara Rin, occasionally turning his head towards her while admiring her profile.
However, Natsuhiko didn't spot the silhouettes of Hatake Kakashi and Might Guy. It seemed they hadn't chosen to take this course.
At the last row of the classroom, Vice Principal Sarutobi Biwako sat alone, seemingly observing Natsuhiko's first class.
Clearly, his youth made her a bit uneasy.
While Natsuhiko observed the students, they, too, were secretly observing their new sensei.
Natsuhiko, dressed in black ninja attire with a white coat draped over it, appeared to be only fifteen or sixteen years old, yet he exuded a unique aura convincing them to revere him.
Whispers spread among the students below, expressing surprise at Natsuhiko's youth and handsome appearance.
Kurenai Yuhi and Shizune, seated in the front row, murmured softly:
"My father worked on missions with Natsuhiko sensei. He told me yesterday that Natsuhiko sensei has a different style compared to regular ninjas. Now, I finally understand what he meant."
Compared to other ninjas, the man in front of them seemed more like a refined scholar.
Natsuhiko lightly clapped his hands, it was not too loud but eerily reached everyone's ears.
The students quickly quieted down.
"Let's start the class."
Natsuhiko stared at the students below.
"First, let me introduce myself. My name is Natsuhiko Amou, a Special Jounin. I used to work in the Sealing Jutsu department. Since I've been away from Konoha for a long time, many of you may not have seen me before. I am your new Sealing Jutsu sensei, and you can call me Natsuhiko sensei."
"I know many of you have already learned something about Sealing Jutsu at least, but for the sake of first-year students, let's start from the beginning in this first class and talk about the history of Sealing Jutsu."
The higher-grade students disappointedly groaned. They expected something different from a young sensei like Natsuhiko. To their dismay, it seemed like he was going to cover the history of Sealing Jutsu in the same old-fashioned way.
Some students even contemplated giving up on the course.
However, before they could voice their dissent, Natsuhiko, with a slight smirk, raised his right hand and snapped his fingers.
In an instant, everything in the classroom disappeared except for the seats, and the surroundings turned pure white.
Before the young ninjas could react, the scenery changed again.
Countless interconnected black runes emerged from the ground, resembling ink lines flew into the air. This sight frightened many students, causing some to stand up in surprise
Subsequently, these runes began to combine and connect, forming a complex pattern of a spherical array that enveloped the entire classroom.
Then, all the rune formulas gradually dissipated and merged into the void.
Like colouring on a blank canvas, the surroundings gradually transformed, eventually turning into a desert with numerous standing stone pillars eroded by the wind.
This drastic change left the young ninjas stunned, their mouths wide open, looking around in bewilderment, momentarily speechless.
"Please sit down. Don't worry; this is just a basic use of Sealing Jutsu runes," Natsuhiko reassured them. "Consider it an early preview of what you'll be learning."
In reality, everything that happened was Natsuhiko utilising the power of the supplementary jutsu program to create a large-scale Illusory Domain with the Projection Jutsu.
The purpose was to captivate the students in the first class.
It seemed to have worked perfectly.
After Natsuhiko's reassurance, the young ninjas, instead of calming down, became even more excited. They looked at Natsuhiko with a sense of anticipation.
Because these students had already realised that this semester's Sealing Jutsu class would be different from the usual.
Some were already silently mourning for those students who had previously given up on this course.
And the students who had considered giving up just a moment ago were secretly relieved.
Natsuhiko lightly coughed, bringing everyone's attention back to himself, and finally began the formal lecture.
"The history of Sealing Jutsu can be traced back to the legendary Sage of Six Paths. According to records, the Sage of Six Paths created the runes used in Sealing Jutsu and used the power of Sealing Jutsu to seal a terrifying creature."
"Although many people nowadays disdain this explanation, thinking it's just Sealing Jutsu practitioners glorifying themselves, due to the nature of my work, I've travelled throughout the Land of Fire, collecting many historical materials. I've found that this explanation might not be entirely baseless..."
As Natsuhiko vividly narrated the history of Sealing Jutsu, the surroundings began to change accordingly.
For example, at this moment, the students saw the desert behind Natsuhiko slowly revealing two silhouettes.
"Ma—Fu—Ha!!!"
A bald old man wearing a vest and shorts shouted loudly.
The next moment, a green light emanated from his raised palms, creating a strange wind that rushed toward a green-skinned creature with antennae on the opposite side.
"Ahhhh Ahhhh!!!"
In the midst of the screams, the green-skinned creature lost control of its body and was caught in a spiral-like airflow. Its body started twisting and elongating. After spiralling in the sky for a few rounds, it was sealed in an electric rice cooker.
Although it was just seen from a distance, the powerful aura of that sealing wave, and the creature's final screams, deeply shocked the students, leaving them stunned for a long time.
Could this be the truth of history, the process of the Sage of Six Paths sealing a creature a thousand years ago?
Do electric rice cookers have such a long history?
Is this really something we can see without spending money? It feels like we accidentally stumbled upon something extraordinary.
Kurenai Yuhi sitting in the front row raised her hand, her ruby-like eyes twinkling: "Natsuhiko sensei, are these scenes all real events?"
The students also perked up, looking at Natsuhiko with anticipation.
Natsuhiko smiled slightly and pointed to the place where the blackboard used to be.
Suddenly, a line of text appeared there.
"This scene is entirely fictional, any resemblance to actual events is purely coincidental."
Plop!
All the students collectively collapsed.
Natsuhiko spread his hands innocently, saying, "How could I possibly know the truth about the Sage of Six Paths sealing a creature a thousand years ago?"
