Vol 2 Chapter 11: Tintity part 3
Énoli, the plant girl, was diligently working. She did everything as she was instructed. Once she was finished with the normal peppers, she proceeded to move the unneeded vegetation to the designated spot. She just tossed them into one corner instead of putting them on top of the already created pile, and then she was about to harvest the green peppers as well, but she was stopped. Foin wanted to keep them as they were quite valuable compared to the other plants.
"Alright, good fork! It is time for a rest...Also, I think soon I will be able to finish building the house; if things go like with this speed, with your help, we could have a house in a few more days."
Foin said with a wide smile, and he gently patted the hovering girl's head with two of his fingers. The girl instantly leaned into his pat, and once Foin pulled his hand back, the girl hovered closer to him and hugged his wrist.
"Thank you, master! I will work hard for you!"
The tiny girl replied almost instantly, and she gently rubbed her face against Foin's hand, who couldn't help but chuckle. It was a new sensation which he lacked greatly. For the past few days, he has been all alone and could not really talk to anyone. Though there was a dragon in the distance, who seemed to be sleeping, he still felt uncomfortable talking with it.
This girl, however, was quite a pleasant surprise. Still, he didn't know the true extent of her power and how it could be utilised, but her mere presence was enough to heighten his mood, and also, now that his workload was reduced, he had more time to plan. And just as his eyes wandered over to the pot in which his new beverage lay waiting for him to taste, he realised that he had no utensils to use.
Of course, he could always drink from the pot; however, now that there are two of them, it seemed inappropriate, and drinking from a smaller cup would most definitely be more comfortable. As a result, he walked over to the pile of Peteach and grabbed one of them. In the meantime, Énilo let go of his wrist and instead hovered behind him. Foin then sat down and got ready to mould the liquid of the fruit.
Without hesitation, the plant girl quickly flew next to him and sat down beside him; just as he opened up, the fruit and its useful nectar started flowing out. The tiny girl watched with excitement how Foin slowly formed two cups from the strange liquid and two plates, and since there was still some extra liquid, he decided to make one extra larger cup, for which he used all the remaining liquid.
As he started at the larger cup, pondering how to use it, suddenly, it hit him. He could try and make more of the green peppers using the cup as a pot. It was quite small, and as a result, he was unsure whether it would be able to contain a plant, but still, he decided to give it a try later.
"Énilo, would you like to eat the fruit? It is very tasty... Pity the tree still needs to grow to bear a considerable amount of fruit."
Foin asked with a smile. The girl instantly nodded eagerly and stood up. Foin grabbed the fruit and gave it to the tiny plant girl and couldn't help but chuckle. In her grasp, that fruit seemed like a normal-sized human. Bing was holding a massive watermelon. Foin quickly put one of the cups and plates next to her so that she could put the fruit down if she wanted to. That was the time he realised that he had made two human-sized plates and cups, and the cup he had just put down was almost half the size of the girl.
As soon as the girl grabbed the fruit, she started eating. Her speed was unbelievable; it seemed that she wasn't even chewing; as soon as she took a bite, she right away opened her mouth for another bite. Almost as if she just swallowed everything or just absorbed the moment she closed her mouth.
"Hey, wanna eat some boiled potatoes? I made quite a lot yesterday while testing my pot."
By the time Foin spoke up, the girl had already eaten the fruit and was licking her lips before letting out a quiet burp. As Foin looked down at her, he noticed that she was still smiling and was looking up at him before answering his question.
"Master, I wouldn't want to eat you out of your food... I don't want to be a burden!"
"Oh, don't worry about it! We have plenty, and with our current progress, we are still producing more than the two of us could ever consume!"
Foin replied as he chuckled. He once again gently patted the head of Énilon, and then stood up with the two plates, and then returned with the boiled potatoes. Despite the size difference, he divided the amount equally and put one of the plates down beside the girl, holding the other in his hand.
The two started eating the boiled potatoes, just like before; Énilo ate at an incredible rate; she was even faster than Foin. She managed to eat the whole plate of potatoes, while Foin could eat only a few of them. Foin leaned back, looking at the sky, and he sighed. He was so full that he didn't want to get up, but the speciality of the day had yet to come: his beverage.
"Thank you very much, master! It was very delicious and also reinvigorating!"
"Oh, don't exaggerate! I wasn't that good; it was plain old potato, nothing extra, nothing special."
Laughed Foin. Though he was not expecting a complaint, it was a pleasant feeling for him.
"Do you still have room for something special?"
He asked, and the girl just nodded eagerly. So, he picked up the two cups and walked over to the now cold pot. The lid was slowly lifted to reveal its contents. Although the level of the liquid had decreased slightly, it was still almost three-quarters full. The liquid seemed as clear as Foin's tea. It was just as red.
He quickly filled one of the cups and filled the other to about half. He didn't know how strong it would be, but knowing how small the girl was, even half a cup would be a much, much greater dose than the full cup for him. As soon as the cups were filled, he put the lid back on and then brought the cups back to where the girl was sitting.
He carefully put the half-fool cup down and held it in his hand. As a start, he slowly smelled it. He couldn't smell anything other than its sweetness, which made him even more curious.
"I would say bottoms up, but be careful, as this is my first experiment, so it might be too strong!"
Foin said and took a deep breath. Even after he brought the cup a bit further away from his nose, he could still smell its dominating sweet scent. His mouth started watering, and soon, he gave in and tasted it. That was the first time in his life he had ever drunk something alcoholic.
