River Of Anew: Farming In Another World

Vol 2 Chapter 10: Tintity part 2

Énilo. The name did not sound familiar at all, but for some reason, it made Foin think. However, although he was lost in thought, he was still glaring at the floating entity, who seemed to be waiting for a response. Seeing how Foin did not reply, the entity once again lowered its head and continued.

"Thanks to your care, I was able to be born... I am very grateful, master!"

Uttered the entity with a shaking voice. It was expected that this extra information would calm Foin down; however, as it slowly raised its head, it realised that Foin was even more confused than before. He was certain that this must be some sort of prank. He had done nothing of the sort the entity had claimed. As a result, he just glared at it while still being prepared to strike at a moment's notice.

"Oh. Right... I am sorry... I forgot that humans operate differently... I was born while you were asleep, so you couldn't have seen it with your eyes... I am truly sorry for not waiting for you to see me... But I just desperately wanted to help you, master!"

The entity stuttered with genuine nervousness and a considerable of regret. It was still trembling; however, after a deep sigh, it once again hovered closer to Foin; this time, however, carefully not to disturb or scare him like before. Its movements were slow, and the being stopped not far from Foin's eyes. As the creature got closer, Foin noticed something in its eyes. They were filled with tears.

Although he knew nothing about this tiny being and was still worried about it, for some reason, he did not expect it to cry. Foin felt horrible for making that tiny, seemingly harmless creature cry. Though he knew that he should be stern and should be cautious, as he stared into those tear-filled eyes, he softened and looked away.

"Master, without you, I would still be nothing but a mere plant! Please do not hate me for my stupidity!"

Foin was shocked, to say the least. His eyes widened, and he lowered his hands. Everything he was thinking about previously had faced. He just stood there and looked blankly into the crying entity's eyes. What he felt was indescribable. It was amazement, shock, and sadness at the same time.

After a few moments of being stunned, Foin quickly looked back to where his latest Élion fower was and then back at the entity. As he glanced back and forth, something occurred to him, so he took a deep breath.

"Were you that élion over there?"

He said; his voice was slightly shaking both from excitement and shock and was barely above whisper level. The creature nodded as soon as it heard Foin. It was nodding so eagerly that it seemed more like many small bows.

"I see..."

Foin mumbled. This was something he just said, as it was still a powerful slap to recover from. His mind raced to find how this seemingly girl-like creature could have been created. He did nothing in particular to that plant other than basic watering, but then every other plant would have been in the same situation.

Then he thought that maybe it was the mutation the system said when his plants levelled up on his panel, but this idea was quickly replaced by another, more realistic one. The reward he had received most recently. Whenever he received a reward, it would appear not far from him; however, there was nothing around him that could have been a reward, so he colluded that this entity might have been it.

Foin quickly shook his head once he managed to regain his composure and then slowly extended his hand. With two of his fingers, he gently stroked the entity's head. He expected that its hair would feel like real hair; however, it was more like each string of hair was a rough plant fibre. And as he touched it, it seemed to tickle his fingers slightly.

Feeling Foin's gentle touch, the creature rubbed its eyes and quickly flew over to Foin and hugged his used, dirty and slightly damaged shirt. He was taken aback by this action, but after a moment of debating, he just smiled.

"Thank you, master; I swear I will work diligently and will not fail you!"

Foin only sighed lightly, and his gaze already moved to the next task. Since the creature had already harvested most of the plants, his workload was greatly reduced. Since he received the notification that he had managed to brew something, he wanted to most definitely try tasking his beverage but decided not to do it so soon. He decided to wait till evening. Until then, he could continue working on his house.

"Master, how can I help you?"

Énoli asked with great enthusiasm. Before Foin could have reacted, the entity had already let go of him, hovered back, and looked into his eyes with a smile. Although it was a kind gesture, with the being's sharp teeth, it seemed more like a threatening expression. From that smile, Foin felt that it was not a question; it was more like an order. He needed to give it something to do.

"Well... I think you know more about plants than I do, so you could finish harvesting, and then, since you collected the vegetation in one pile, you could throw them into the composting hole."

Foin said as he pointed with his thumb above his shoulder back at the pit where a considerable number of parts had already been placed.

"No-no master. I am sure you know more about plants than I could ever know... I will do as you asked."

The creature said, and at an incredible speed, flew away. Foin didn't even have time to speak; he just stood there dumbfounded.

"Know more about plants, me? I plant them and harvest them, that is all... This level of knowledge is quite lacking.... anyone would know more about plants than I do."

He mumbled as he slightly stretched his arms and started working on making a few more bricks. Meanwhile, the entity started harvesting with a wide smile.

"Master... You are so kind... You accepted me so easily despite me being so incompetent and young... I am so tiny can barely do anything useful, yet you accepted me..."

The tiny being mumbled as its smile grew larger and larger. It kept smiling while it was working; however, from time to time, it looked behind to see what its master was doing, and whenever Énoli saw Foin working, it redoubled its efforts.
