(Pov Athena...)
WHOOSH!
The wind of the underworld whipped my hair as I ascended back to Olympus, my mind a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. The encounter with Riser Phenex had shaken my foundations in a way I never imagined possible.
"What have I done?" I whispered to myself, feeling the weight of the newly formed alliance on my chest.
My heart beat erratically, a mix of excitement and apprehension. How would I explain this to the other gods? How would I justify my decision to ally with a demon?
I continued to think and see flashes of a dystopian future. Like my father, the King of Olympus. He would sacrifice himself to help seal Trihexa. He and other heads of other pantheons would spend over a thousand years killing a beast. And it all started by a devil who wanted to laugh at everyone, creating chaos and destroying everything. His name was...
"Athena!" Zeus' voice thundered as soon as I landed in the main hall of Olympus.
CRACK!
A lightning bolt split the sky, reflecting the tension in the air. The gazes of all the gods present turned to me, expectant.
"Father," I replied, maintaining composure. "I have returned from my mission in the underworld."
Zeus frowned, his piercing eyes analyzing me. "And what did you discover about this demon who dares to wear the Phoenix armor?"
I swallowed hard, feeling a drop of sweat trickle down my temple. How could I reveal the whole truth?
"The devil, Riser Phenex," I began, choosing my words carefully, "does indeed have a genuine connection with the essence of the Phoenix. And the armor is different from the one we possess here."
MURMUR! MURMUR!
The other gods began whispering among themselves, their voices a buzz of disbelief and concern.
"Impossible!" Ares shouted, stepping forward. "A demon cannot possess such sacred power!"
I took a deep breath, feeling everyone's eyes on me. "And yet, he does," I retorted, keeping my voice firm. "The armor chose him, recognizing in him a spark of the Phoenix itself."
GASP!
The collective shock was palpable. Even Zeus seemed momentarily speechless.
"Daughter," he finally spoke, his voice softer now. "What else did you discover?"
At that moment, I felt the weight of the secret alliance I had formed with Riser. My heart raced, but I kept my expression neutral.
"Riser Phenex is not an immediate threat to us," I asserted, choosing to omit certain details. "He seems more interested in... balance than conflict."
HMM...
Zeus stroked his beard, thoughtful. "Interesting. And what about his intentions towards the mortal world?"
"He has shown no interest in interfering directly," I replied, feeling a pang of guilt for not revealing the whole truth. "His concern seems more focused on the underworld and... potential alliances."
WHISPER! WHISPER!
Another wave of whispers swept through the hall. I could feel the distrust and curiosity emanating from my divine peers.
"Athena," Apollo's voice sounded, calm and inquisitive. "You seem... different. What really happened down there?"
I felt my heart skip a beat. Could he see through me? Was the light of truth, so dear to Apollo, betraying me?
"I..." I hesitated for a moment, then composed myself. "I was confronted with a reality that challenges our ancient beliefs. The underworld is changing, as is the balance of power between realms."
SILENCE...
A heavy silence fell over the hall. I could feel the weight of millennia of tradition and prejudice struggling against the possibility of change.
"What do you suggest, then?" Zeus asked, his voice laden with authority.
I took a deep breath, knowing that my next words could shape the future of our pantheon. "I suggest caution, Father. Observation. Perhaps... even the consideration of new alliances."
GASP! MURMUR!
The reaction was immediate. Some gods seemed horrified, others intrigued. Zeus, however, remained impassive.
"Your wisdom has always been valued, Athena," he finally spoke. "We will consider your words carefully."
I nodded, feeling a mix of relief and apprehension. As the gods dispersed, each absorbed in their own thoughts about the revelations, I retreated to a more secluded corner of the hall.
SIGH...
I let out a trembling sigh, finally allowing my mask of composure to slip for a moment.
"What have I done?" I thought again, feeling the weight of my decision. "An alliance with a devil... What does that mean for the future of Olympus? For my own future?"
I closed my eyes, remembering Riser's touch, the feeling of power and possibility I had felt. Was it wrong? Was it dangerous? Or was it the beginning of something bigger than all of us?
"May the Fates guide us," I murmured to myself, knowing that the path ahead would be filled with challenges and uncertainties.
WHOOSH!
A gentle breeze passed over me, as if destiny itself were responding to my call. And, for a brief moment, I felt a distant connection with Riser, as if our alliance was already beginning to weave the threads of the future.
**
(Pov. Riser Phenex.)
I see Athena in the distance, moving from the underworld to the Greek side. And to think that a goddess would invade the devil's side. It could be worse.
["Well. Shit. I didn't expect to be intercepted by Athena, nor the fact that for some reason, we now have some kind of connection. Anyway, at least it wasn't Erebus and Nyx attacking."]
WHOOSH!
The underworld wind stirred my robes as I watched Athena disappear on the horizon. My heart still beat fast, remnants of our encounter echoing in my mind.
CRACK!
I clenched my fist, feeling the power of the Phoenix coursing through my veins. What an irony of fate, a devil wearing sacred armor. And now, allied with a Greek goddess.
["Well, I'll fuck her. Cough. I mean. We will be allies."] I thought, remembering how she looked. Are all supernatural beings sinfully sculpted?
**
I had just arrived at the Phenex palace, and it didn't take long for my shadow to appear.
"Riser," a familiar voice called me.
TAP TAP TAP
I turned to see my sister, Ravel, approaching. Her eyes shone with curiosity.
"What happened?"
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. How could I explain something I didn't fully understand myself?
"Let's just say things got... interesting," I replied, a crooked smile forming on my lips.
Ravel raised an eyebrow, clearly not satisfied with my evasive answer.
SIGH...
"Look, sis," I began, choosing my words carefully, "I just formed an alliance that could change everything. And when I say everything, I mean more problems will come to me."
GASP!
Ravel's eyes widened. "You're not serious, are you?"
I nodded, feeling the weight of responsibility on my shoulders. "I've never been more serious in my life."
The ground trembled slightly beneath our feet, as if the very underworld was reacting to the magnitude of what had happened.
"Riser," Ravel spoke, her voice laden with concern, "do you have any idea of the consequences of this? The other Maous, the fallen angels... no one will accept this lightly!"
I laughed, but there was no humor in my voice. "You think I don't know that? Believe me, every possible scenario is running through my head right now."
FLASH!
For a moment, I saw images of the future - wars, unlikely alliances, the very fabric of reality warping.
"But what if..." I hesitated, the words struggling to come out, "what if this is exactly what we need to prevent a greater disaster?"
Ravel looked at me, confused. "What are you talking about?"
WHOOSH!
I created a small flame in the palm of my hand, watching it dance.
"Something is coming, Ravel. Something big, something that can destroy everything we know. And maybe, just maybe, this crazy alliance with Athena is the key to preparing us."
CRACKLE!
The flame grew, reflecting the intensity of my words.
"But what about the others?" Ravel asked, her voice almost a whisper. "How are we going to explain this?"
I smiled, but it was a tired smile, laden with determination.
"One battle at a time, sis. For now, this stays between us. I'll need your help to keep things under control while I plan our next steps."
NODNOD
Ravel nodded, loyalty shining in her eyes. "You know you can always count on me, brother."
I placed my hand on her shoulder, feeling a wave of gratitude.
"I know. And that's why we need to be more careful than ever. The game has changed, Ravel. The old rules no longer apply."
SWISH!
With a wave of my hand, I made the flame disappear. It was time to act, to prepare for what was to come.
"Let's go," I said, my voice filled with determination. "We have a lot of work ahead."
**
When I arrived in my room
to rest, I didn't expect to find all my fiancées and my Peerage members having some kind of "meeting." Apparently, my fiancées were positioning themselves above them or defining some kind of hierarchy. I pretended not to understand what was happening.
Cough*.
"So, Riser~. When do you plan to introduce us?" Medea said in a voice so sweet it seemed it could kill me with the amount of sugar present. I could see a dark and black aura around her. And I'm not dense enough not to notice what she's feeling, given her past with Jason.
I quickly moved to her and gave her a strong hug, whispering in her ear, "I'm not abandoning you, Medea," while placing my head in the curve of her neck.
After a few moments enjoying her warmth, I moved away from her and saw her without the black cloak covering her face, hiding her expression. Now noticeably, she looked like a blushing schoolgirl.
I looked around and saw Rin giving me a look, but when our eyes met, she quickly grumbled and turned her face with red cheeks.
Hmph!
"Mo~~ Riser-Oni-chan. Won't you hug me too?" Illya quickly threw herself behind me, hugging me tightly. But for some reason, when I turned, I saw Ravel and Illya glaring at each other as if lightning were coming out of their eyes.
["Women."] I thought to myself. But at the same time, I was grateful. After all, who wouldn't want to be here? With a smile, I turned to Sakura, thinking she was the gentlest and kindest girl, and decided to pamper her a bit.
Only to freeze midway, looking into her eyes that were spinning sinisterly while she murmured to herself, "Senpai is mine!" while Medusa next to her just nodded in agreement with everything Sakura was planning.
Amidst this dissonance, Rias, who was organizing all this, spoke.
"Riser, we gathered here and decided some things. Now, as your fiancée, I will also manage your harem, just like my mom does for my dad. So, we had our girl talk here." Rias began to explain what was happening. Apparently, she was organizing my "harem," although, in a way, I hadn't made any move on any girl yet.
A fleeting thought crossed my mind. "Why was Ravel here, then?" I shook those thoughts out of my head. As I returned to my normal line of thought, I barely noticed that I had missed what Rias was saying about the harem. ["Well, I thought Rias was against all this harem stuff. Or maybe, after a long time with me, she started to accept this fact. Or perhaps, it was Sona and Seekvaira using their relentless logic to convince her. I return to myself and remember. "Dragon Aura.""] this also explains why Issei in the cannon gathered his harem, despite being who he is.
"Very well. I would like to give something to all of you, something that could make you stronger. It hasn't been announced publicly yet, but noble devils will get a chance to receive their Akuma no Mi for their demonic clan. Also, each territory will get 3 to 2 of my Metal Vessels." Anyway, I continued with what I wanted to offer.
"I'm here to help you gain a significant boost. This includes all of you." Even Tsunade, who was serving some drinks, stopped.
"Well, let's begin." I moved forward to Rias, whose blue eyes were shining at me. Using my Binder essence, I marked Rias with the lower essences of Archmage and Blank. The lower essences will help her reach Sirzechs' level. I also used the Binder essence to give immunity to holy energy. Using the [Father's Baptism], she is completely immune to holy energy. I also compiled my martial arts skills and passed them to her. (A/N: The martial arts skills are mostly for humans. Not at the scale of her power. So, to a certain extent, they are of little use.)
Then I moved on to the next one and continued like that. Although for the members of my Peerage who had already received the Father's Baptism. After giving everyone this Power Up, I was still not satisfied. Taking advantage of the fact that they were all silent from the shock, I then...
"Before everyone asks their questions, I would like to help choose your Akuma no Mi. All of you linked to a clan member can receive your Akuma no Mi ability. However, if you choose wrong, you will get a bad Akuma no Mi."
"I have saved some of the various Legendary Akuma no Mi. We have Hito Hito no Mi, Gura Gura no Mi, Magu Magu no Mi, Uo Uo no Mi, Nikyu Nikyu no Mi, Pika Pika no Mi, Yami Yami no Mi, Goro Goro no Mi..." I continued to explain about the best fruits until I was interrupted by Sona.
"Do you have a water version?" Sona asked, clearly wanting to enhance her water manipulation ability.
"Sona, I know what you're thinking. Although I can make one, I would like to give you something else as well. Something even better." Then from my inventory, I took out a Zanpakutō. Well, I have Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's Bankai, so it gives me some security. It will be difficult for them to have Shikai or even Bankai at my level, but I hope this can give an extra boost to her power.
"This is a Zanpakutō. It has a blank spirit that will adapt to its wielder. So, if you have a natural water ability, then most likely your Zanpakutō ability. I can't guarantee it will be strong initially. But with the ability I gave you, your potential is equal to if not greater than the current Maou."
I observed the surprised faces around me as I explained about the Zanpakutō. Sona's eyes shone with a mixture of curiosity and expectation.
WHOOSH!
With a fluid motion, I handed the spiritual sword to her. The metal shimmered under the room's light as if responding to the touch of its new owner.
"Remember," I warned, my voice serious, "the power of this weapon will grow with you. Treat it with respect."
Sona nodded, her fingers gently caressing the blade. I could feel the energy pulsing between her and the Zanpakutō, the beginning of a bond that could change everything.
MURMUR! MURMUR!
Whispers filled the room. I could sense the admiration, the envy, and, in some cases, a hint of apprehension.
"Riser," Rias' voice cut through the murmur, her blue eyes fixed on me. "All this... why?"
I sighed, feeling the weight of my knowledge, of everything I knew was coming.
"Because we need to be prepared," I replied, my voice low but firm. "There are... things moving in the shadows. Threats that not everyone can see yet."
GASP!
The shock was palpable. Even Medea, usually so composed, seemed disturbed.
"What kind of threats?" Sakura asked, her voice trembling slightly.
I closed my eyes for a moment, flashes of the future I knew passing through my mind. Trihexa, the Great War, the chaos that would follow...
"The kind that can destroy everything we know," I finally replied, opening my eyes to look at them. "That's why we need to get stronger. All of us."
THUMP! THUMP!
My heart pounded in my chest. It was a risk to reveal so much, but they deserved to know, deserved to prepare.
"But don't worry," I continued, forcing a confident smile. "With these new abilities, with the proper training, we will be ready."
I looked at each of them, feeling a wave of affection and determination. They were more than my harem, more than allies. They were family.
"Riser-oni-chan," Illya's voice broke the silence, her large eyes filled with concern. "You... you're going to be okay, right?"
My heart tightened. For a moment, I saw not the powerful mage she could become, but the vulnerable girl she still was.
WHOOSH!
In an instant, I was by her side, wrapping her in a tight embrace.
"Of course, Illya," I whispered, stroking her silver hair. "We all will."
SNIFF!
I felt her sniff against my chest, her small hands clutching my shirt.
"Promise?"
"I promise," I replied, my voice firm. And at that moment, I swore to myself that I would do everything to keep that promise.
Gradually, I let go of Illya, looking at the others. I saw determination in Rias' eyes, curiosity in Sona's, a burning flame in Medea's.
"Well," I said, trying to lighten the heavy atmosphere, "I think we have a lot of work ahead, don't we?"
NODNOD!
Collective nods filled the room.
"Great," I continued, a genuine smile forming on my lips. "Let's start with the basics. Who wants to be the first to try to awaken their Zanpakutō?"
WHOOSH! TAP! TAP!
In an instant, everyone moved, forming a disorganized line. I laughed, feeling a wave of
affection for all of them.
"Calm down, calm down," I said, raising my hands. "We have time. Let's do this right."
As I began to explain the first steps to connect with the Zanpakutō spirit, I couldn't help but think of Athena, of our newly formed alliance. How would she react knowing I was strengthening my group so quickly?
FLASH!
For a moment, I saw her face in my mind, those blue eyes full of wisdom and... something more.
I shook my head, pushing the thought away. There was much to be done, much to be prepared. The future was uncertain, full of dangers, but looking at the determined faces around me, I felt a spark of hope.
Maybe, just maybe, we could change destiny. And I would do everything in my power to ensure we had that chance.
(A/N: Now we finally see the Clairvoyance ability (EX rank) coming into effect. With this, Riser is trying to change the world's fate. But everyone knows well how fighting against destiny is. If we see how the Type-Moon universe is, destiny is a bitch. With his essence, Riser is unable to give a whole power to an ally. Unfortunately or fortunately, he can only give a lower version. When it says lower, it's in all aspects.)
