Chapter 136: The Stone's True Appearance
**********
From the moment both of them became an adventurer and received their S-Rank title after completing the re-evaluation from the Guildmaster from the Main Office, there are privileges that only S-Rankers or higher that they could avail.
Since S-Rank adventurers or above are quite rare as no one could easily get that title by just taking commissions alone.
S-Rank adventurers in this Empire are on a completely different level compared to the lower rank adventurers because according to the Guildmaster from the Main Office, S-Rank adventurers can be considered nobles in accordance with the Imperial Law of the Empire.
Albeit they were only considered as a semi-noble since most of the S-Rank adventurers are from a commoner background but because of their immeasurable strength, the Cliffton Imperial Law considered them as one of the Empire's most trusted subjects and could be on equal footing within those full-fledge nobles of this Empire.
However, the only difference between them is that…. S-Rank adventurers aren't mandatory to do their noble duties since they weren't full-fledge nobles and they have the freedom to choose whatever they wanted to do, well, that will be in accordance with the Imperial Law.
'Long story short, both me and Eclipse are considered as one of the nobles, albeit in-name only but still, we have the privilege as one of the S-Rank adventurers and in this situation, we have an advantage.'
Arico thought as he sighed while face-palming as he forgot something important such as this one.
"Geez! I forgot that we're not just S-Rank adventurers but could be also considered as one of the nobles in this Empire in accordance with the Imperial Law when the Guildmaster brief us about this matter."
Eclipse snorted as he removed his badge from his companion's sight and then put it back in his pocket and waited for the sold item to be delivered to this room.
"THANK YOU FOR WAITING, OUR ESTEEMED LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE SECOND ITEM FOR THIS AUCTION EVENT WILL NOW START!"
Both of them just watched the show and Arico just hummed as he spoke; "The second item is about to be auctioned already? Although I don't have any interest but since we could purchase using our badges then, might as well try at least one, if something caught my interest then."
The Slayer Agent said, and Eclipse just shrugged off his shoulder and then, watched the whole event as the second mysterious item are now presented in front of them, with the usual that it's covered with white cloth.
"AS FOR THIS ITEM'S DESCRIPTION…. HMMM…. HOW SHOULD I SAY THIS…. ACTUALLY, THERE IS A CONFIDENTIAL AGREEMENT THAT THIS ITEM'S DESCRIPTION AND THE ONE WHO AUCTIONED THIS ITEM COULDN'T BE REVEALED BUT THE SELLER TOLD US THAT WE COULD SAY AT LEAST, ONE WORD ABOUT THIS ITEM THOUGH…."
When the MC stated those words, Arico raised an eyebrow and said; "A confidential agreement, they say? But this is an auction event, and all items should be presented and revealed its origin lest they wanted to scam someone."
Eclipse shook off his head and said; "In most cases, this is pretty normal circumstances since there are sellers that didn't want to reveal their item that much or their origin because for safety reasons."
Arico; "Safety reasons?"
Eclipse looked at his companion whose common sense couldn't knack off his brains but then again, would he blame his companion for not knowing these kinds of situations since his only job is to execute criminal agents and world-hoppers back at the Main House System?
'Even though this guy was already at this worldline for almost three years but there are some things that he couldn't understand for a bit.'
Eclipse thought as he sighed and then explained; "Imagine if someone discovered an important item that's more valuable than your life and then you exposed yourself as the one who discovered it, wouldn't your life be in danger then? Since you're withholding an important information within you."
After he explained that, Arico seemed to give a thought about it and then hummed in agreement.
"Yeah, you're right. Make sense though. So, does it mean that this second item has more value than the first item since the contents of this item is now strictly confidential, according to the MC."
Eclipse could only nod because that's the only possibility of this situation; "Yes, that might be then. If an item presented at the auction stated that most of the details are strictly confidential, it means that the value's item is much bigger than the others."
"If that were the case then, you should have bid for this item and not that f*cking stone from the first item! Geez! You just waste some money there."
Arico almost yelled at him but not that much as he didn't want to suddenly offend this brat for a reason, and he just felt frustrated because of this matter.
Eclipse raised an eyebrow at him and said; "I told you that don't judge the appearance that quickly. You'll know it soon."
'Why am I trying to do?'
Arico sighed as he just gave up because he didn't know what to do anymore and just waited for what his companion was trying to do.
*KNOCK!
*KNOCK!
*KNOCK!
'It's here. I wonder if what I felt from that stone earlier is the one that I know from before.'
Even though Eclipse set a barrier within their room, they could still hear if someone knocked or tried to force themselves in, the world-hopper signaled his companion to open the door and Arico just sighed and followed his orders.
The Slayer Agent went over and opened the door and one of the staff entered the room, along with the item that Eclipse purchased from the auction event.
"Greetings, esteemed guests! Here is the item that you purchased from the auction."
After that, the staff took out the small box from the cart and presented it to Eclipse and opened the small box containing the item that he purchased earlier.
"This is the item [Stone of the Wind] that our esteemed guest had purchased."
The world-hopper looked at the stone that was imbued with wind element and nodded in agreement as he took out his Adventurer Badge and the staff who saw the badge stiffen on his feet because he recognized the badge that Eclipse had.
'Frenan informed me that this person is likely connected to that household because of the [token] this person presented to Frenan earlier, but I never expected that this person is also an adventurer! An S-Rank on top of that!'
The staff snapped from his thoughts and said with a smile; "I never expected to meet such an important person. Please may I take the badge first for confirmation?"
Eclipse gave his badge to the staff and the staff placed the badge at what looked like a magic crystal ball for scanning, and he waited for a while and after that, the staff took out the badge from there and return the badge to Eclipse's hands.
"Thank you for your cooperation, dear esteemed guest. Hope that you enjoy the rest of the event."
After that, the staff left the room and the Arico closed the door, and the Slayer Agent made sure that it was tightly locked and the barrier that Eclipse activated was still intact.
"So, what now?"
Arico looked at the small box containing the item that Eclipse purchased in the auction and the Slayer Agent couldn't help but twitch as he looked at the item that was sold for 900 Cosmos.
The world-hopper saw Arico's scowl as he looked at the item he purchased and chuckled as he said; "What's with that look? The stone didn't do anything for you to looked like that."
Arico glared at the young man who seemed wanted to laugh at him but restraining himself by coughing at his sideways and composing himself.
"You—?! Argh! I don't know anymore! Just what in the world are you thinking and for you to purchase this scrappy stone with some fine gem on it?"
Eclipse cleared his throat to calm himself, ignoring his companion's usual whining about the stone he purchased in this auction event.
The world-hopper took the stone and then analyzed it as he frowned for a moment.
'If this is how I remember then…'
*CRACK!
"Huh?! What's happening? Why do I hear some crack noise coming from that stone?"
Arico immediately looked at Eclipse's hand where the young man grab the stone from the small box container.
*CRASH!
"What in the—?! Are you out of your f*cking mind?! Why did you break it?!"
Arico shouted at Eclipse when the Slayer Agent saw how the world-hopper gripped the stone too hard that it makes to crumble into pieces and Arico was about to yelled at him when a sudden light came from those crumbled pieces and Arico close his eyes not to be blinded by the sudden light came from it.
After a minute had passed, the Slayer Agent adjust his eyesight to looked at the crumbled stone pieces from Eclipse's hands but what he saw isn't those crumbled pieces but….
"A spear? W-wait a minute?! Where the heck did that come from?! Don't tell me…. It's from that stone?!"
Eclipse looked at his companion and said; "Told you. Don't judge its appearance and you'll never knew that it would turn into a good item though."
