Princess and Her Knight( Overlord Au.)

Vs Zesshi

The winds blew in the katze plains, and it whistled as it kicked up sand into the air. The black and white hair of the Slane Theocracy's extra seat, Zesshi Zetsumei, flowed to the side as she stood before the man, scrutinising his person and taking note of his demeanour.

If she put any stock in looks she would have praised his handsome looks, however she wasn't the kind of woman to be swayed so easily but she would give him credit, he certainly portrayed an image of being strong and one that made her cautious.

"So are you going to introduce yourself, or is this a staring contest?"

Arthur questioned as he placed his hand on his hip, trying to convey both an air of relaxation and one of strength, if Zesshi was worth anything she would be able to discern that he was strong, and disregard any sign that said contrary to that, and if she's not able then that means he can actually relax.

"Oh sorry, you can call me Zesshi Zetsumei, I'm the extra seat of the Black scripture from the Slane theocracy"

She introduced herself while also taking note that her comrades had yet to arrive near her position.

"Pleasant to meet you, Zesshi Zetsumei. My name is Arthur Pendragon, I am curious about what the Slane theocracy wants with me"

He stated, purposefully omitting the fact he was a Baron of the Re-estize kingdom, while he didn't plan to switch side or anything of the sorts, he figured it would be beneficial to let her think that him not say he's from the Re-estize kingdom means he has no loyalty to the kingdom, this means she can say whatever she needs.

Although that's on the account that she isn't here just to kill him because he's a threat. He could only think of one reason why the Slane theocracy would seek him out, and it probably was because Thousand leagues Astrologer witnessed his use of Excalibur, and the cardinals have concluded that he must be a player.

"Don't worry, my country doesn't seek to make an enemy out of you, so relax I'm not here to attack you"

She informed and saw him quirk a curious brow. She wondered if that was really so surprising, or if he was just a usually paranoid person.

'I probably wouldn't trust someone who just showed up before me without any prior notices'

She concluded.

"Really, I was under the impression that the Black scripture was the Theocracy's most powerful combat unit, if you aren't here to attack me then why would they choose a member of the black scripture to approach me?"

He said although his words came of a bit more sarcastic than he'd like, while her words definitely confirmed his theory, it still a bit suspicious that the cardinals would send Zesshi Zetsumei of all people to meet him, after all the captain of the scripture would work just fine.

"It's just a bit of curiosity, that's all, and besides, we don't know you, so my superiors didn't want to lose a subordinate in the case you were a violent person"

"Superiors caring that much for a subordinate, that's a start."

This time, he mocked sarcastically, and Zesshi rolled her eyes.

"What's this curiosity that you claim this is all about?"

"You see, in my country, we have a term that we use to call people like me, people who are exceptionally strong beyond belief"

She began, her words laced with a surprising amount of pride, and Arthur nodded along although he'd prefer it if this little chat wasn't too long, he knows Renner Is capable and that Lakyus is strong and together dealing with Barbro should not be difficult however one cannot help but worry even by just a smidgen.

"We call them Godkin, just as the name suggests, these people are children of the gods in the literal sense, or they are people who are children of the children of the gods"

She explained, at present there was a small number of known Godkin, with Zesshi herself and the Captain of the black scripture, the rest of the scripture were just regular humans who managed to reach a greater realm of strength than most.

Within the Slane theocracy being a Godkin, practically guaranteed a life of luxury and tranquil, however it also came with the guaranteed duty of having children, unfortunately for the Slane theocracy the chances of a child awakening as Godkin wasn't guaranteed, hence the small number of known Godkin.

"So the Theocracy is wondering if I'm one of these Godkin you speak off?"

"Yes, but they're also wondering about something else, which is related to your sword, but that's the gist of it."

"So you're asking me if I'm a Godkin?"

He asked. He supposed that another player coming to this world is something the Cardinals didn't think about, or perhaps he didn't display enough power for them to think that.

"yes"

She confirmed.

"Let's say I am a Godkin, then what? what are you going to do about that?"

He asked, which caused Zesshi to crease her brows. His question felt less like a question and more like an insult, almost as if implying she wouldn't be able to do anything if he was God-kin, which is not how Arthur intended the question to be heard.

"then, I was tasked to asking you to join the Slane theocracy"

"And if I say no to that?"

"Then I am to eliminate you"

The wind whistled as those words left her mouth, and the tension between them was raised higher than before, Arthur tensed up, and Zesshi noticed, causing both to place their hands in their weapons.

"Really, no sales pitch or anything?.... this wasn't even about recruiting me but more about making sure I'm not the enemy"

She didn't respond but instead firmly grasped her weapon, already waiting for a fight.

"Sorry Zesshi Zetsumei, but no to all your question–"

He barely finished his sentence, and Zesshi was already before him. She swung her scythe, and it pierced through the air as it aimed for his torso.

However Arthur quickly put his new found skill to use, using Ruler's Authority he forced the scythe to stay in place, halting her swing before he kicked her on the chest and sent her flying in the air.

Zesshi quickly flipped herself and landed on her feet, and they slid across the ground before she stopped metres away from Arthur.

Arthur then followed that up with an up-down swing of his arm and released a cleave that split open the ground as it traveled towards its target.

Zesshi quickly dodged to the side, effortlessly evading the attack. However, instead of launching herself forward for a second attack, she halted and looked at her opponent.

'he used two skills, just now'

She noted, and Arthur raised a brow as he expected her to rush him again, but her caution was good. He didn't particularly know much about her, nor did he know her skill set.

'I need to force her to use her skills without exposing too much of my own'

He thought it would be ideal if she thought the two skills he just used had a cool down that way he'd gain an advantage, he also realised that it was quite stupid of him to reveal two skills in just the first exchange.

'I guess I'm still inexperienced'

He thought, this time grabbing Excalibur, their stare down would come to a close eventually, and she'll attack. He needs to be ready because she'll attack faster than before
