Neptune suddenly realized—wasn't this all intentionally orchestrated by Admiral Roja?
Roja's actions seemed aimed at fostering peaceful coexistence between humans and the Fish-Man Island residents. And to achieve this, there truly were people willing to help pave the way forward.
And that person was none other than the legendary Admiral White Pigeon.
Tears welled up in Neptune's eyes as he thought of his late wife, Queen Otohime. A deep sense of emotion stirred within him. Otohime, if you could witness this scene, I'm sure you'd be overjoyed.
As the medicine's effect concluded within five minutes, Fisher Tiger began to recover. Slowly, he opened his eyes, scanning his surroundings.
"How... how are things now?" he asked weakly.
Neptune smiled warmly, clearly relieved to see Fisher Tiger awake. "Everything has been resolved," he reassured. Pausing for a moment, he added, "And it was Admiral White Pigeon himself who saved you!"
"W-White Pigeon…?" Fisher Tiger murmured, his eyes widening in disbelief. His pupils shrank as the realization struck him.
"I'm not here for you," Roja said calmly. "My target isn't you, but the sea knight Jinbei standing beside you."
"What... what are you going to do to Jinbei?!" Fisher Tiger demanded, alarmed.
Before he could react further, Roja placed a hand on his shoulder, his expression steady, projecting reassurance. Neptune quickly chimed in, "Don't worry! It's a good thing!"
Hearing his king's words, Fisher Tiger finally relaxed.
After ensuring Jinbei's condition was stabilized, Neptune ordered his men to escort both Jinbei and Fisher Tiger to the palace's top medical facilities for rest.
Turning back to Roja, Neptune said, "Admiral White Pigeon, please rest assured—I've agreed to Jinbei's nomination as a Shichibukai."
Roja nodded, acknowledging Neptune's words. Just as he was about to leave, Neptune hesitated before speaking up again.
"Admiral White Pigeon, I have a humble request…"
Roja glanced at him curiously.
"If you can agree," Neptune continued earnestly, "you may ask anything of me in the future. I'll do my utmost to assist you."
"What is it?" Roja asked, his tone steady but interested.
A flash of resentment crossed Neptune's face as he began to explain.
"I have a daughter named Shirahoshi. She's a kind and gentle soul, but she's been harassed endlessly by a man named Vander Decken IX. At first, he merely sent love letters weekly to the Ryugu Palace. But over time, the letters escalated into packages—and then, into outright threats of forced marriage!"
Neptune's fists clenched as he continued, "I dispatched my three sons to hunt him down with the kingdom's forces, but despite being a wanted man in Fish-Man Island, Vander Decken IX continues to send weapons to attack the Hard-Shell Tower, where Shirahoshi is hiding.
"Admiral, I beg of you—help me capture Vander Decken IX! I promise, I'll see to it that this man is brought to justice!"
Neptune's usual demeanor of humility and wisdom had given way to a rare fury, emphasizing just how deeply he despised Vander Decken IX.
Roja listened quietly before responding. "Where is the Hard-Shell Tower located?"
Hearing this, Neptune's face lit up with hope. "You'll help?!"
Roja nodded, his expression calm. "Think of it as a training opportunity for Ain."
Ain, who had been standing quietly nearby, blinked in surprise. "Lord Roja, do you mean for me to handle this task?"
"Of course," Roja replied. "We've been traveling for a while now. Without battle, your skills might grow rusty."
Straightening, Ain nodded resolutely. "Understood, Lord Roja! I won't let you down!"
Witnessing this exchange, Neptune felt even more admiration for the admiral. Roja's calm demeanor and willingness to help were traits Neptune greatly respected.
"I'll personally take you to the Hard-Shell Tower," Neptune said, leading the way.
As they approached, Roja suddenly heard the familiar chime of the system in his mind.
[Ding! You've checked in at the Hard-Shell Tower. Reward: 100% favorability from Shirahoshi!]
Roja paused for a moment, his lips curling into a faint smile.
Noticing this, Neptune asked, "Is something the matter, Admiral?"
"Nothing significant," Roja replied, though he discreetly smirked at the system's amusing reward.
Suddenly, Roja drew Ain's blade from its sheath. Startled, Ain watched as Roja's overwhelming aura as a master swordsman surged to its peak.
With a precise and powerful slash, Roja sent a massive blade of energy slicing through the sky.
Before anyone could fully comprehend what had happened, a projectile—a weapon flung by Vander Decken IX—entered the slash's trajectory and was instantly cleaved into pieces.
"Was that an attack using the Target-Target Fruit?" Ain asked curiously.
Roja nodded slightly. "Yes, it's a remarkable ability if used well. But this user…" He smirked. "...is just a waste."
Hearing Roja's blunt remark, Neptune's lips twitched. If Vander Decken IX was considered a waste, what did that make him and his sons, who had failed to capture him?
Of course, Neptune understood Roja's words weren't meant to insult them directly.
"Open the gate," Neptune ordered the guards stationed at the Hard-Shell Tower.
Before stepping inside, Roja turned to Neptune. "I can handle this alone. Is that acceptable?"
Neptune nodded. "Of course. Thank you, Admiral."
Roja entered the Hard-Shell Tower quietly. Inside, he found Shirahoshi lying peacefully on her pristine white bed. She was curled up slightly, looking utterly serene.
She was sleeping soundly, unaware of Roja's presence—or anyone else's.
Her relaxed and carefree posture, combined with her stunning beauty, made Roja momentarily blush. He coughed softly to announce his presence.
The sudden sound startled Shirahoshi awake. She quickly stood up, her delicate face flushing a deep pink as she spotted Roja.
Roja composed himself and smiled gently. "Princess Shirahoshi, allow me to introduce myself. I am Admiral White Pigeon, Roja of the Navy. It's a pleasure to meet you."
