Chapter 100
[Miho Entry LOL]
I thought Miho would arrive tomorrow, but she’s here already, LOL.
– For real?
– Yep, just saw her.
– Haha, just like Miho.
[What’s with Miho’s sword dance?]
(GIF of getting kicked out in real time)
I got kicked out too, damn it.
– LOL.
– Good luck.
– Can’t watch Miho’s broadcast today? LOL.
[Damn, got kicked out]
(Chat log)
I was cursing like usual, so why?
– Damn, it’s a miracle this dude is still alive.
– This is the average for those who just got kicked out, LOL.
– It’s not a ban, it’s a kick-out?
– Yeah, Miho rarely bans anyone, LOL.
[So what are we watching now?]
(Ban log)
I was only going to watch Miho in the Celestial Realm, but got kicked out.
– This dude shouldn’t be watching anything, LOL.
– What can you do to avoid getting banned?
– If you chat like in Miho’s room, you get banned.
– That’s just you being foolish.
– Miho did ease things a bit, though, yeah.
[That sword dance is hilarious, LOL]
It seems like anyone can get kicked out, how come there’s no one aggrieved?
– For real, LOL.
– They all are a mess, LOL.
– If you know why the sword was drawn, upvote, LOL.
[Yeah, this is what broadcasting is]
If other girls are boring, then you get an upvote, LOL.
– Surprise worship LOL.
– Hmm…
– Is this dude an anti-Miho?
– Upvote, LOL.
[Reason why Miho is doing a sword dance now]
(GIF of a Japanese samurai swinging a sword)
I came back after seeing this in the homeland, and my eyes are fixed!
– Wow, that’s awesome, LOL.
– By the way, what was Miho doing?
– She went with her parents and then hung out with friends.
– Is it a guy?
– No, she seems to be a girl.
– Yeah, it’s her boyfriend, LOL.
– Swinging a sword, that’s totally cool.
[Seems like Miho met that Japanese guy she used to play logs with]
Watching the broadcast, telling stories about meeting friends over the weekend, uh-huh.
– For real?
– Yeah, she didn’t say it was Miho, but she mentioned meeting friends.
– Don’t lie, LOL. Why would she meet someone as famous as Miho?
– That guy loves Miho a ton; didn’t you know?
– Seems about right, uh-huh.
– Did you even watch Japanese VTuber broadcasts? Sigh… LOL.
– Are you crazy??
– Just a bunch of similar dudes, LOL.
[So the friend who hangs out with Tenshi is Miho?]
So the Miho who fell while running to the convenience store to buy an umbrella is her, huh? LOL. Visualization is hilarious.
– Is that her then?
– Yep, LOL.
– For real?
– But why isn’t Miho sharing stories? It doesn’t seem like she’s hiding anything.
– She only has embarrassing memories, LOL.
– Don’t you know Miho always skillfully avoids unfavorable stuff??
[Doesn’t say what Japanese VTuber Miho looks like?]
At this point, if you’re really curious, just upvote, LOL.
How is there not a single clue??
– For real, I’d look her up if I just knew her name.
– Ugh, what do you even expect from a VTuber, LOL?
– Just a stupid pretty girl, so just live without knowing, LOL.
– Yeah, you’re so deluded~.
– No clues about Miho in the Celestial Realm?
– There’s no info on Miho at all, and Loa is ambiguous.
– Isn’t Haru ambiguous too?
– The only one truly trashed is Anna and Mile.
– Damn, if she’s ugly, imagine that, LOL.
– What will you do then? LOL.
– A useless homebody VTuber POV, LOL.
[So who’s superior between the two?]
(During Miho’s cooking broadcast, an upper body shot is leaked)
(Anna during her musical theater days with blue hair)
A 21-year-old curvy Miho is up, upvote vs. a tightly-packed in her 20s Anna looking like trash, downvote, LOL.
– Of course it’s Miho, LOL.
– This no-bag girl is something…
– Damn, Anna, being in the upper 10% is something, LOL.
– If Miho was the same age, she’d be in the top 1%…
– Damn you.
– Anna is pretty, too. Look at how these guys are bashing her.
– Curvy Miho? Damn, LOL. I’m gonna capture this and send it to The Six; good luck.
– If that’s not curvy, then what is? LOL.
– Meanwhile, the insect mask, damn, is that a Kamen Rider?
– That’s a villain mask, damn it.
– For real, LOL. You found a brilliantly horrible thing.
– ^Tompon^ guys surprise worship, can you pull up Anna’s ex-boyfriend list?
– Please don’t do that…
– This bastard is the worst, LOL.
– Damn, isn’t it more of a problem that Anna hasn’t dated at her age? Do you think Miho is a virgin?
– Yeah, at 21, the chance of her being a virgin is way higher~
– Anna just got dragged here again, getting hit. Did Anna do anything wrong to you guys?
– For audaciously aiming for the Celestial Realm king!
– Never aimed, damn it…
***
It’s been a while since I returned from my trip to Japan.
In the meantime, I’ve been doing a lot and living my life frantically, so before I knew it, that day arrived.
What day is it, you ask…?
“Are you nervous?”
“…Yes.”
It’s the day of filming.
The director and Moon Chang-sik told me to stay relaxed, but it’s not easy to do so.
I practiced a lot in the meantime.
Mostly, I practiced with Bok-sil, who didn’t seem to understand anything.
…But since she’s clever, if I give her a decent image, the practice turned out okay.
On top of that, Moon Chang-sik occasionally contacted me to help out…
Honestly, even though I’m nervous, I’m not worried.
The sweat I shed surely won’t betray me.
…Hopefully.
“Well, please wait here for a moment.”
Moon Chang-sik said that, leaving me inside the tent while he headed off somewhere.
He’s probably going to shoot his part.
By the way, I didn’t think much when they said they’d build a set… but this is actual serious stuff.
I heard it’s in Gangwon-do, but I never expected they’d buy such a large plot of land to build here.
I think they said they’d build this and keep using it.
Because of that, looking around, there are a bunch of shell buildings with no practicality.
To be honest, I wonder what the difference is between this and a broadcasting station set…
That side has schedulers and said there is wasted movement and whatnot.
As I sat quietly, someone entered, lifting the tent.
The torpid-faced director with messy hair smiled broadly, an odd sight, handing me a paper cup filled with instant coffee.
“Oh, thank you.”
“It’s a bit chilly, right? The heating doesn’t work well here.”
“Ahahaha… It’s alright.”
It is a bit cold because it’s Gangwon-do, but it’s not winter, so it’s not that bad.
“So, how’s the atmosphere here? Is it okay?”
“Oh, the atmosphere? I don’t really know.”
It’s not bad, nor particularly good?
Maybe because it’s morning, everyone seems a bit dreary.
“Is it hard to adapt?”
“Huh? Oh, um….”
Today is both the first and last; what’s there to adapt?
“Haha! The first time is usually tough. When the other actors arrive later, I’ll introduce you.”
“Eh? Oh, no, it’s fine.”
What would I do knowing the actors? Besides, I’m basically parachuting into this whole thing, so I thought it unnecessary to create trouble, but the director shook his head as though saying that’s not right.
“No, no, in this industry, connections matter. The more people you know, the better. And Chang-sik? He’s not someone to use for connections; he’s just not interesting.”
“Oh….”
However, I couldn’t bring myself to tell the film director that today is the first and last shoot and that I have no intention of stepping into this industry.
As I hesitated, perhaps misunderstanding my silence, the director laughed loudly.
“You worry too much, didn’t you say you worked a bit with Woo-hyun? Just use his name to get familiar. What’s it matter with connections? Haha!”
“Yeah?”
Woo-hyun?
As I rummaged my memory, I recalled that was the name of the composer.
“Oh, the composer?”
Does the director know him? More importantly, did he hear about my working with him from Moon Chang-sik?
“You two have some familiarity, right?”
“Uh, yes….”
Well, it’s true we have a bit of familiarity….
“There’s also some connection with me. I received a lot of help from him when I was a rookie in sound-related work.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yeah, that connection has continued ever since.”
As expected… the composer has quite a network. Even though he seems to be in the workshop all the time, his reach is substantial.
“This time, he said it’s okay to use the song he worked on, and I was grateful.”
“Eh?”
“I heard it’s a song sung by Soo-hyun? I was really surprised when I heard it; his singing was excellent that day!”
He wrote a song? Wait, isn’t this just one of the marketing strategies?
“Damn it, he only gave me the MR to listen to on set, so I’ll be looking forward to that.”
Through that comment, I realized where it was going.
“Um, am I… singing it?”
“Huh? You didn’t know?”
“Uh… when, no, it’s not me.”
I get the gist.
There’s a part in my role where I’ll sing, so that’s what it means.
Right at the beginning.
I guess I’ll have to sing it live during that part?
I know the part so well now that I can recognize the melody easily, but…
Ugh! Can’t they at least tell me these things in advance?
I mean, I did say they could do whatever they wanted with the rest… but a sudden live performance on set!
The pressure is immense.
“Well, I’ll head back now.”
Once the director finally stepped out, I waited alone inside the tent.
Since I had nothing to do outside, I figured it’s better to be here alone than to disturb those moving about as I spent time going through the script until I felt it was time and stood up to exit the tent.
But.
“Ah.”
“Hmm?”
As soon as I stepped out, I faced a person right in front of me.
A girl slightly shorter than me with brown wavy hair.
And her delicate features indicated she looked different from the average person.
Looking at her, I immediately thought, “That’s an actress!” The words Moon Chang-sik said earlier popped into my head.
‘Did he say to greet high-ranking people?’
He mentioned that in the filming set, it’s enough to just greet high-key people vigorously, so following his advice, I readied a strong greeting.
“Hello!”
“Eh?! Oh… yes….”
Oh? Is she more timid than I expected?
Her voice, hard to call authoritative for an actress, made me pause, and as I lifted my head, she looked as if she was hesitantly stepping back.
“Ah, hello….”
Then came a moment of awkward confrontation with the girl, who greeted me.
…Does she have something to say to me?
After greeting her but finding her hesitating in front of me, I felt puzzled as a question mark floated in my head.
As she looked around, her eyes eventually pointed towards the tent behind us.
“Um, is this the waiting room for Chang-sik sunbae…?”
“Huh? Oh, yes.”
As a minor role, I had no designated place, and thanks to Moon Chang-sik’s kindness, he lent this room to me to wait here.
He said he was busy with filming or something.
“But why are you there….”
Is she someone with business to see Moon Chang-sik? By calling him sunbae, she seems to be an actress, but…
“Chang-sik went out earlier. He should be around there somewhere. He said he was busy with filming.”
With that, I informed her of Moon Chang-sik’s whereabouts as I knew, but I noticed her lips parted in surprise.
“Chang, Chang-sik….”
And seeing her reaction, I realized my words must have sounded strange.
Am I creating a misunderstanding for no reason?
For me, it’s not proper to call him sunbae, and it’s awkward to call him oppa.
The remaining titles could be something like master or Chang-sik, so I selected the least awkward one.
“Um, I….”
Just as I was about to clarify any possible misunderstanding,
“Gang Ha-na! What are you doing here? We need to get to filming now!”
A girl in glasses who appeared to be her manager rushed over.
“Uh, um, that…”
“We’re going in right now! Let’s hurry!”
Just like that, I couldn’t clear what might have been a misunderstanding as Gang Ha-na was pulled away to film.
Well… given that we’re in the same filming location, I’ll probably see her again.
Or I could just ask Moon Chang-sik to clear it later.
More importantly, Ha-na?
Since I have no clue about the actresses, I wondered if she’s someone well-known, so I went back into the tent and searched on my phone.
Gang Ha-na… oh, there it is right away.
Her profile picture popped up when I typed her name into the internet, so she must be quite a famous actress.
As I browsed through her profile…
Hmm… hmm…
Where did she head again?
I think I really need to clarify this misunderstanding quickly.
