Chapter 24: Settlement
"This is the second one. It's a high-rise apartment near the sea, but to be honest, the area here is a little small." The three of them went up to take a look. Actually, it's not small. The house is more than a hundred square meters. In the United States, an apartment like this is a bachelor apartment, and the design is only one bedroom. The living room, dining room, kitchen, and study are not small, but this high-rise apartment makes the father and son feel insecure, although it's near East River Park and the environment is good.
"This place is indeed not bad, but it is indeed a little small. Let's rent it out directly. I think there is no problem, right?"
"Don't worry, there's no problem at all." Philip was very happy. It was another gain, although not much.
The third location was also an apartment. It was hundreds of square meters and had just been built a few years ago. Sloan hadn't spent much on it, but now the price had increased several times. This was a reference. If the last villa wasn't satisfactory, it would be here.
"Let's take a look at the last place first. If I'm really not satisfied, then I can only book this place." Wesley did not expect that the three apartments were not satisfied. It might have something to do with them being assassins. Even if they quit now, they would still reject apartments in their hearts, because this was actually the top floor. Although the mountains were small, it was really not solid.
It was late in the afternoon, and Phillip hadn't eaten the hamburger that father and son had bought for lunch. He was a lawyer, and a big one at that. He would have preferred to starve and not eat. But now he was sure that the father and son had come from the country, and had come in their own car.
"Although the last place is a villa, that villa has decades of history. It was built after World War II. Although the place is not small, there is no trace of modernization."
"So I can push it to reconstruction?"
"This is indeed possible, but it requires some very complicated procedures."
"As long as it's legal, right? I think Mr. Phillip can do it." Wesley was suddenly looking forward to it. Wesley came here with anticipation and was dumbfounded.
This place was too big. It was separated from the United Nations headquarters by Robert Moses Stadium. It was possible to build a few high-rise apartments here. The Gibson father and son were completely speechless. They were assassins. If they used such a large piece of land to build a villa, they would probably not be able to get any peace.
"Mr. Philip, this location is not suitable for a villa at all, although a villa, or a manor, is more appropriate," Wesley said speechlessly.
"Mr. Wesley, if you have money in the United States, you can do anything, as long as it's legal, of course." Philip acted as if it didn't matter. Wesley has no way to tell him that he is an assassin, and so is his father. We are courting death by living here.
"Let's decide to settle in the third apartment. Anyway, it's the top floor. It shouldn't be a problem for us to make some preparations," Wesley and Carlos said, and Carlos nodded. This place is not just a matter of too much attention, but a matter of death. How can there be no problem with two assassins living here in such a high-profile manner?
"Mr. Philip, now that our plan has changed, we have decided to settle in the third apartment. You can help us sell the first and second apartments. As for this place, I want to commission an auction house to auction it. I don't know if there are any problems?" Wesley decided to sell it all and just keep a place to live. Anyway, they have retired, and no one will find trouble with them.
"Of course there's no problem, but the third apartment hasn't been renovated yet. I don't know if the two of you are ready to do it?" Philip was pulling business again, but Wesley didn't want to go to too much trouble, so he asked him directly. "Don't worry, there's absolutely no problem with the renovation company I introduced. If there's a problem, I'll help you sue them." Listen to this, he earns money from two companies alone.
Wesley and Carlos looked at each other. They both had the same thought. If there's a problem, we'll get rid of you. They agreed to meet the renovation company at the third apartment tomorrow, and then they drove back to the hotel. "It seems that it's not that simple to stabilize. But what style do you like to renovate?"
Carlos shook his head and said, "I have been off track with this world for a long time, so you should decide. I will take you to train when the renovation is done."
"Sure." Wesley thought about it. This was not bad. At least he would not be bored in the hotel. And downstairs, a black Chevrolet Suburban listened. "Reporting, sir, Gibson and his son are back at the hotel. They looked at several properties today."
"I didn't expect them to come to New York, but that's good. I'm also in New York. Give me the address of their hotel, and how do you monitor it?"
"We used the traffic system's surveillance. We didn't send anyone to follow them."
"Good, keep it up." The senior officer hung up the phone and looked at Tony Stark in the middle of the dance floor. Then he smiled. Today's contact was not successful, but it doesn't matter.
The next morning, Wesley called Philip, and then he and Carlos went to the third apartment again. The designer of the renovation company had arrived. Wesley first looked at the room again. It was only one floor, but it was hundreds of square meters in size. At the same time, there were two houses on their floor, and there was a family opposite, and the rooftop was communal.
"Mr. Phillip, ask the family across the street if they want to sell their house. I think you can do it," Wesley said.
"Of course, but the price?"
"Money is not a problem, but we are not fat sheep. The premium is at most 30%. The rest is up to you." Wesley gave enough benefits.
There were three rooms and four bathrooms, a large living room and a kitchen. One of the rooms had a large wall alcove that was usually used as a cloakroom, but Wesley and Carlos decided at the same time that it was more suitable as a weapons warehouse. There were no special requirements for the style of decoration. It was simple, the color requirement was simple and elegant, and the most important thing was the weapons warehouse, but this was hard to say.
In the end, the person from the renovation company said, "We understand. Many rich people actually have some collectibles, and the collectibles are all kinds of strange. Please rest assured, we will pay attention to this position. There is absolutely no problem with safety." After saying that, he winked at Wesley.
"Carlos, what do you think he means?" Wesley asked after they left.
"I'm not sure, but it doesn't matter. They'll get it right, right? Let's just wait and see the rendering." Carlos doesn't care what people think, and Wesley doesn't understand. He just thinks it's strange.
