Naruto: Uchiha's Resolve

Chapter 39: Chapter:39

The selection of the Third Hokage had concluded, and news of Uchiha Hirito's victory swept through Konoha like wildfire. Whispers of his duel with Uzumaki Mito reached every corner of the village.

Among the rumors, the most sensational claim was that Uzumaki Mito had been so thoroughly beaten that she returned to the Senju compound with her face covered, resembling a pig's head.

The Senju clan quickly issued a public statement:

"These are baseless rumors. Lady Uzumaki Mito graciously conceded the position to pave the way for the younger generation."

Despite the statement, the streets of Konoha buzzed with amusement, and the focus shifted to Uchiha Hirito's impending ascension. For years, the Hokage mantle had been the exclusive domain of the Senju clan, but now the tables had turned.

The victory marked a seismic shift in Konoha's power structure, with many smaller clans rushing to align themselves with the Uchiha.

At the Uchiha compound, the celebrations were in full swing. Fireworks lit up the night sky as waves of well-wishers and allies visited the clan, bearing gifts.

Hirito met with numerous clan leaders, his demeanor calm yet commanding. While he accepted the well-wishes, he carefully noted who came to pay their respects—and who didn't.

Among the visitors, Hinata Takuma, the Hyuga patriarch, arrived with a special gift: a young girl named Hinata Asuka, a bright prodigy of the Hyuga's main family.

"Lord Hirito," Takuma began with a respectful bow, "this is Asuka, one of our most promising talents. I thought it would be good for her to meet you."

The twelve-year-old stood poised in a yellow kimono, her Byakugan gleaming faintly. Though still young, her presence carried a maturity beyond her years.

Hirito raised an eyebrow as he glanced between Takuma and Asuka. The intention was obvious: this was no ordinary introduction. Takuma's ambition was written all over his face.

Hirito understood Takuma's plan instantly. The Hyuga patriarch sought a union between the two most powerful clans in Konoha. A marriage would ensure their mutual dominance for generations to come.

But Hirito was unimpressed by the blatant maneuvering. The girl's youth only made Takuma's intentions more transparent.

"You honor me with such kindness, Patriarch Takuma," Hirito said with a polite smile, deftly sidestepping the offer.

Takuma, undeterred, left the matter for another time. Today's visit was only the beginning of his plan.

As night fell, the Uchiha clan gathered at Naka Shrine for a grand celebration. The air buzzed with excitement, and the shrine was illuminated by countless lanterns.

The elders, overcome with emotion, led a solemn moment of ancestor worship. Tears streamed down their faces as they praised Hirito, calling him the "hope of the Uchiha" and "Konoha's strongest Hokage."

Hirito remained humble, though he couldn't help but feel a surge of pride. After years of oppression by the Senju clan, this victory was a long-awaited triumph for the Uchiha.

Following the ceremony, the real festivities began. The clan shared a lavish feast, and Hirito was pulled into countless drinking contests. Though his tolerance was formidable, the combined efforts of his jubilant clan members eventually overwhelmed him.

Manji, Hirito's loyal companion, dragged him back home when the night's revelry grew too wild.

While the Uchiha compound was alight with joy, the Senju compound was eerily quiet. The clan turned off their lights early, their shame too heavy to bear.

In a hidden underground chamber within the Senju compound, Senju Momoma stood with his confidant, Senju Momosato.

The room was filled with old experimental equipment, and Momoma held a dusty scroll in his hands.

"Chief," Momosato said hesitantly, "are we really going to restart Tobirama-sama's cell experiments? These projects were banned for a reason."

Momosato's voice trembled as memories of the failed experiments resurfaced. He had seen the horrifying effects firsthand—subjects writhing in agony, their bodies grotesquely altered beyond recognition.

Momoma's face darkened. "The Uchiha have humiliated us. We need a way to reclaim our place at the top."

"But the risks—"

"Enough!" Momoma's voice cut through the air. "I'll deal with the risks. If we don't act now, the Senju name will mean nothing."

Momosato hesitated, glancing at the scroll in Momoma's hands. The forbidden experiment could provide unimaginable power—but at what cost?

"And Mito-sama?" Momosato asked cautiously.

"Leave my mother to me," Momoma said coldly. "She doesn't need to know."
