Alex continued to walk on the path that was littered with leaves. His expression was very solemn as he continued on.

He had inquired about the woman who was supposed to be the mother of his body around in the village. And whatever he learned turned his mood very heavy.

It was like someone had squeezed his heart, making his heart throb in pain.

That feeling was very painful and suffocating.

Soon, a broken and abandoned house appeared in his view. The structure was old and on the brink of crumbling.

Alex increased his pace as he grew anxious. He slowly and carefully opened the door. And the next moment, his body stiffened as he gazed inside the broken house.

Inside the house was completely empty, aside from the spiderwebs filling the broken walls,

Alex could also see wild animals moving around inside.

'D-Does she really... live here alone?' Alex could feel his heart tightening inside his chest.

[T-This house... This place really is... My days spent here were the most beautiful days of my life. If not that...]

Liebe's voice echoed in his head as a massive killing intent burst forth. The poor guy was reminded of all those painful memories especially when Lucifero tried to take over his body and killed Richita.

Normally, Alex would have calmed him down but today, he was not in the mood.

Since the first day, he met Liebe face to face, Alex could feel his killing intent leaking unconsciously. Liebe's hatred for Devils was too much, maybe around the same level as Alex's hatred from past life for his own father.

Alex plopped down on the rock-hard bed that had been almost destroyed, wondering what kind of life he would have lived if his mother were alive.

*Sigh*

A heavy sigh resounded in the rundown building as Alex's heart was filled with sadness and loneliness.

[The conditions have been met for the first awakening.]

Eden's cold voice echoed in his head.

'What the hell...?' Before Alex could react his mind buzzed and his consciousness was sucked into darkness...

"Now, what is this space? Wasn't I... in that building?" Alex looked around and realized that he was surrounded by darkness all around him and it was very difficult to make out of his surroundings.

"This time... I am not letting go!!"

Suddenly an anxious voice sounded and an image appeared in his head.

Alex gazed ahead and saw the back of a young woman. He could not see her face but she was a slim woman with medium-length, ash blonde hair.

She was holding onto something and her body seemed very tense.

Out of nowhere, a dark tentacle appeared and penetrated her stomach, emerging from her back. But the woman persisted and finally succeeded.

Alex saw her doing something and then he heard some voice again.

"Live... Liebe! My dear son...!"

The voice was filled with love and tenderness.

Alex could feel the vitality of the woman dropping at a tremendous pace. His body jolted and his eyes trembled in shock because he had already recognized the woman.

'She is...'

"Maybe this is... my punishment. I wonder... what type of guy... my son will become in the future... Even though I tried but... I just want to stay with my child..."

As he heard the last words of his supposed mother, something snapped inside his head. His fists clenched subconsciously as he could feel the helplessness from the voice of his mother, Richita.

All his vision blackened again and darkness covered him completely.

Before he completely lost his senses, the last thing he heard was Liebe's shouting but he was unable to make what the other party was saying.

Before Alex could understand what was going on, in an instant a shocking scene unexpected to everything occurred.

Something that spun the wheel of fate that had stood dormant for untold years.

*BOOM!!*

A loud crackling sound akin to the wrath of thunder set the abandoned house ablaze and started echoing in the forest.

All the small animals fell down on the ground, covered in fear as they could feel the shadow of death looming over them.

A chilly storm and powerful gale swept through the place accompanied by the booming of thunder.

Even Liebe who was sealed in the grimoire could feel a dreadful aura covering the entire sky, bringing the feeling of impending doom.

Meanwhile, Alex's expression changed and a heavy pain assaulted his head threatening to tear his mind apart.

His body trembled and his heartbeat elated. A crushing pressure crashed on his shoulder to the point that he felt his soul shuddering in pain.

'W-Wha... the hell?'

Alex gritted his teeth, trying to suppress the pain but was unable to do so as his consciousness turned blank sucked into an otherworldly space.

As he fought the pain to keep standing, with a thought a special aura spread out in space. Alex felt that he was surrounded by a blurry elusive shadow and a snarky cackle was echoing in his ear.

'Huhuhu... you are unable to protect your family this time too."

'You cannot do anything. You are meant to be alone for all eternity...'

'Everyone you will love with either leave you or die because of you.'

'What is the use of such power? When you cannot even protect the people close to you. Huhuhu...'

'...'

'...Shut up.'

Shut the hell up!!

At that time Alex realized the time around him seemed to have ceased. A dark sinister, eerie power crawled from deep within his soul. His eyes became dark and black, similar to the abyss of a black hole capable of sucking everything in it awake.

*BOOOOOOOM!!!*

Like holy hymns, a buzzing sound started echoing in the whole making the void across the world tremble.

Darkness exploded out of nowhere, covering the very essence of light, drowning the world into pitch darkness for a split moment.

A sudden, profound darkness engulfed the world, extinguishing all light.

Even beings of higher power, accustomed to wielding control and influence, were gripped by an ominous uncertainty. The fleeting absence of light instilled a primal fear, causing the mighty figures to look up with a solemn expression.
