Chapter 809: Chapter 808 "General Zod's Arrival"

Two days later, as evening descended, Jerry sat in his hotel room, deep in meditation, absorbing magical energy. Suddenly, the TV in front of him flickered to life, emitting a staccato voice that commanded attention.

"You are not alone, Kal-El. I am General Zod."

"Finally," Jerry murmured, a smirk playing on his lips as he listened to General Zod's threats against humanity.

General Zod demands the surrender of Superman, or the entire Earth will face the consequences.

Which Jerry already knew that no matter what happened, General Zod would bring forth destruction to Earth...

He realized he didn't need to take action; he simply had to wait for the magic mirror to request assistance. Proactive measures weren't necessary. Jerry understood that by extinguishing crises before they fully erupted, he would receive fewer little red stars than if he intervened at their peak.

This realization stemmed from numerous experiments aimed at maximizing his accumulation of little red stars. He observed that the number of stars awarded varied depending on the timing of his intervention—a thief thwarted at the brink of success garnered the most stars.

However, Jerry's principles sometimes conflicted with waiting until the last moment. He couldn't always afford to let a situation escalate, risking unnecessary casualties.

While he might sacrifice some stars, he prioritized preventing loss of life. In the first place, Jerry wants to save people as much as possible compared to the amount of red stars he can earn by waiting for too long.

Obtaining a significant number of red stars while minimizing casualties remained his guiding principle.

The following morning, news broadcasts were dominated by reports of aliens issuing threats via satellite signals the previous day. Most speculated that Superman, known as Clark Kent, had capitulated to General Zod's demands to avert war.

No one desired interplanetary conflict with a technologically superior civilization. The prospect of death and the loss of loved ones was too daunting for them.

They come to the conclusion that Clark must be handed over so they can continue living.

Unbeknownst to them, General Zod harbored no intention of sparing Earth. He sought Clark for the genetic blueprint of all Kryptonians, essential for rebuilding their civilization, irrespective of Clark's fate.

"If he truly harbors no animosity towards us, he should step forward and face the consequences. If not, we must take preemptive action. I've informed the FBI of Lois Lane's knowledge of this individual's identity. I trust they will act accordingly," declared Woodburn, the editor-in-chief of a lesser-known news website, during a news segment.

Lois had initially sought to publish news of alien spacecraft and beings upon her return from the Arctic, only to be rebuffed by the Daily Planet's editor-in-chief.

In frustration, she had handed her story to Woodburn, whose publication specialized in sensationalist rumors.

Now, it ironically emerged as the government's sole lead in finding traces of Clark Kent.

"Hello, Mr. Jerry, I'm in a bit of a bind. Can you help me out?" Lois inquired.

Jerry switched off the TV and retrieved the magic mirror, the mirror was shimmering with arcane energy as Lois'voice rang from the other side. It was the same mirror Lois had used to contact Superman when she sought Jerry's aid.

After Jerry's departure, Lois and Clark had a lengthy conversation. He recounted his experiences, and Lois abandoned her plans to reveal his existence to the world.

Considering his own abilities and his partial trust in Jerry's enigmatic advice, Superman had entrusted the magic mirror to Lois upon their parting, should she ever need assistance from the mysterious magician.

"Just a moment, Miss Lane; I'll be there soon!" Jerry replied.

He stashed away the magic mirror quickly while mentally pinpointing Lois's location, before finally teleported to her room.

Startled at Jerry's sudden appearance, Lois, who had been standing by the window, gestured anxiously towards the street below.

"The FBI car is parked outside, and they'll be coming to arrest me soon. What should I do?" she implored with a shaky voice while looking at Jerry

With Jerry's prediction now confirmed in Lois's mind, she was fully convinced of the Earth's impending crisis, inexorably tied to Clark's fate.

"Miss Lois, we're FBI agents. Please open the door immediately!" came the stern command.

As soon as Lois heard the demand, there was a forceful knock on the door.

Jerry sought to reassure her by saying, "Stay calm, don't worry. First, let's find Clark and see what he thinks."

BANG!

The door was violently forced open, and more than a dozen FBI agents armed with tranquilizer guns stormed into the room, surrounding Jerry and Lois.

"Hands up! Raise your hands now!"

"This is a lady's room. Your approach is rather aggressive and ungentlemanly," Jerry remarked nonchalantly as he observed the agents closing in around them.

With a snap of his fingers, Jerry unleashed a burst of magic light, freezing each federal agent in place and leaving them immobilized.

"Alright, let's move," Jerry instructed, prompting Lois to lower her hands and nod in agreement.

Placing a reassuring hand on Lois's shoulder, Jerry activated his teleportation spell, and the two vanished instantly leaving the agents bewildered.

Meanwhile, downstairs, the commander overseeing the operation from the RV, upon hearing the lack of response over the headset, swiftly armed himself and led the remaining team members into the building.

As they entered Lois's room and laid eyes on the motionless combat members, their astonishment was uncontainable.

"God, what in the world is happening here!"

"General, they're alive and conscious, but it's as if they're trapped by some invisible force rendering them unable to speak or move."

"It's like something out of a ghost story. I've never seen anything like it," Professor Hamilton, the eminent scientist overseeing the operation, reported to General Swanwick while scratching his head in bewilderment after examining the immobilized agents.

"Could it be an alien weapon?" General Swanwick speculated silently, pondering the possibilities presented by the professor's findings.

He surmised that an extraterrestrial presence might have been in Lois's room, who deployed some mysterious device upon the intrusion of the FBI.

"Sir, sir, they're back to normal!" A soldier burst in, interrupting Swanwick's contemplation.

"Quick, gather them all. We need to get to the bottom of this," Swanwick commanded urgently, recognizing this as their sole lead in identifying the alien threat and averting potential conflict.

Moments later, as the soldiers assembled before him, General Swanwick listened with details to their account.

"What? You're telling me that man simply snapped his fingers, froze you all in place, and then vanished with Lois Lane?"

General Swanwick's disbelief was palpable as he processed the soldiers' testimony.

The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on him as he considered the implications of such an extraordinary event.

"We need to act swiftly," Swanwick declared urgently with a firm voice. "This man, whoever he is, possesses abilities beyond anything we've encountered before. He may be our only link to understanding the alien presence on Earth."

Orders were swiftly issued to mobilize every available resource in the pursuit of this mysterious figure and Lois Lane.

Surveillance footage from the hotel was scrutinized, and intelligence agencies were placed on high alert.

Meanwhile, in a secluded location far from prying eyes, Jerry materialized with Lois, Jerry ensured they were safely out of harm's way before materializing.

As they caught their breath, Jerry turned to Lois with a reassuring smile.

"Don't worry, we'll find a way to sort this out," he assured her, his eyes glinting with determination. "But for now, we need to lay low and figure out our next move."

Lois nodded, grateful for Jerry's presence and resolve. Despite the uncertainty of the situation, she found solace in his unwavering confidence.

"Th-thank you, Mr. Jerry... I truly hope we can solve this problems quickly and help Clark return to his normal life," Lois replied with a desperate voice.
