Martial Peak: Chaos Dragon Emperor

Outside Yang Kai's Mansion, floated five figures in the sky, directly above the mansion that was now covered by what looked like a transparent golden screen. All five looked at the golden screen with solemn expressions.

Among the five, three looked fine but the other two looked a bit disheveled, these two being the ones Su Yan and Xia Ning Chang fought against and did a number on. Although not severe, the two had been a bit injured by the them.

The other three, who were beside them, had already tried everything they could to force themselves into the mansion, but remained unsuccessful. They looked among themselves as Thunderbolt Beast King said, "since we can't seem to be able to breakthrough this strange screen, we should wait for the demon lord to come. He might have a way to break this screen."

The others nodded as Yin Ghost King said, "Yeah, the demon lord would surely have a way." It was safe to say that they were pretty confident in Yang Bai and his strength, which showed Yang Bai's charisma as he was able to subdue these rowdy bunch, though it was his strength that was the major factor for this level of trust.

And so they chose to wait for Yang Bai's arrival and flew down, a bit away from the strange screen.

A few minutes ago, when the Evil Kings were trying to shatter the Heavenly Palace.

Atop the mansion's main hall, Yang Feng, Su Yan, Xia Ning Chang, Meng Wu Ya, Ling Taixu, Lu Yuan Chun, the Blood Warriors, the Hu sisters and Qiu Yi Meng were looking on as the Evil Kings were trying to break down Meng Wu Ya's artifact by employing various methods, but remained unsuccessful.

"This artifact is marvelous! It can block attacks on our level like it is nothing.", Lu Yuan Chun said with astonishment and awe in his voice as he looked as the Tyrannical Force King punched the golden film in full force, to get bounced back even harder.

"But, as the matter stands. How long will it be able to hold on?", asked Yang Kai as he also looked on as the Annihilating Poison King tried to use his poison to somehow find a way to invade the mansion, which again turned out to be futile.

"Indefinitely!", said a convinced and confident Meng Wu Ya. Yang Feng inwardly agreed as he knew, within this small world no one can breach the artifact. Though in the wider world, it is nothing worth mentioning.

The others however looked at Meng Wu Ya in complete shock. Such a powerful artifact could be used indefinitely!? Doesn't that mean that they could live in here till they want, uncaring for the consequences.

"There retreating.", said Xia Ning Chang as she observed them descending a little away from the enterance gate of the Mansion. "They know that they can't do anything so they are going to wait till their demon lord his here.", said Yang Feng as he looked at them for a moment before looking at Yang Kai.

"Kai. Come with me for a minute.", Yang Feng turned and said to Yang Kai before entering the Main Hall. Yang Kai took a final look at the five figures outside his mansion before following behind Yang Feng, while the others looked at the two retreating figures.

Once inside the hall, Yang Kai looked at his brother who was sitting on a chair with a thoughtful look on his face as he looked into the emptiness in front of him. Shaking his head a bit Yang Kai said while sitting on another chair, "You do that alot when your in deep thinking."

Yang Feng was broken out of his thoughts as he looked at Yang Kai with a questioning look. "Even when we were little, you would always have this look of blankly staring into the emptiness when in deep thought. Sometimes you would even mumble about things to yourself.", Yang Kai finished with a chuckle.

Yang Feng himself chuckled as well, he hadn't noticed this before nor had anyone pointed it out before. "So, what got you thinking so hard?", Yang Kai asked as Yang Feng didn't usually didn't do so. He still remembered about that one time he had stumbled upon Yang Feng with the same look, mumbling to himself, while performing alchemy.

~Flashback Starts~

A ten years old Yang Kai entered Yang Feng's room, which wasn't locked, to ask him about something. Just as he entered the room, he was assaulted by a strong fragrance of herbs.

In the center of the room, on the cultivation mat, sat a boy that looked to be around 12 - 13 years old (focus 'looked'). This was his brother Yang Feng, who currently had an empty look in his eyes, as he looked at the cauldron in front of him while muttering something to himself.

Yang Kai looked at Yang Feng who by the looks of it was in the middle of refining a pill, while still standing at the door.

The 11 year old Yang Feng, was currently refining a commonly used Low - Heaven Grade pill, True Qi Revolving Pill, but with a change.

The current Yang Feng had reached the point where he could make a Low - Heaven Grade True Qi Revolving Pill of the highest quality, mostly used for cultivation in the Separation and Reunion to True Element Realm, with a 90% success rate, which would undoubtedly frighten the masses if the news was ever made public.

Now that he had reached this step, he wanted to further the purity of the pill, which had already reach the point where he could basically make a cauldron of 10 pills from which 7 would have pill veins and the other 3 wouldn't be so far apart.

While thinking about a way to further the quality, he came upon an idea and was currently trying it.

He first gathered the materials he uses for the refinement of this pill and in accordance to his recipe threw them into the cauldron, while employing his chaos flame, which was still in it's first stage, to refine the herbs.

After all 17 herbs were successfully refined into medical liquid, he prepared himself for the next part. With his Qi covering the medical liquid, he slowly separated the liquid into 10 parts and shaped them into the form of a pill. This step wasn't quite easy as he didn't really have a divine sense, but with his enhanced senses and experience he could always manage and succeed most of the times. This was the step that Yang Kai came upon, though Yang Feng remained oblivious to it.

Once these pills were properly shaped, he started the next part, usage of arrays. He then used his Qi to make small arrays used in pill refining and started to inscribed them on the pills. He had to inscribe around half a dozen arrays on a single pill.

Once the step was also cleared, usually the next step would be to solidify the pills. But Yang Feng instead arranged the pills into a particular circular formation, 6 pills were arranged at the outer side of the circular formation, with 3 arranged in the inner circle and 1 in the center of the formation.

He then used a great amount of Qi, compared to what he previously used, to make a new formation and then sent it into his cauldron, enveloping the pills.

Once the array was in place, the process began. From the 6 outer pills, strands of medical liquid started to leave and enter the 3 inner pills, the runes on the 9 pills glowing during the process. Once the liquid for the 6 outer pills had fully entered the 3 inner pills, while leaving behind a few black substances in their places, the runes from the 3 pills started to glow even brighter, which had expanded a bit after absorbing the liquid from the 6 outer pills, along with the parts of formation under them causing the pills to compress upon itself.

Once the pills were compressed to nearly their original size, the next part began. The medicine essence from the 3 pills started to leave them and enter the 1 pill at the center. What followed was the same thing like before, with the only change being that the runes and the formation didn't wait for the 3 essences to fully enter the 1 pill and directly started to compress the pill's essence.

Yang Feng went about this method like this because this was his first time attempt on a method of enhancing the pill quality beyond near perfection so he didn't want to take many chances.

If he had used the array, or had directly, forced the medical essence of 9 pills at once into 1 single pill directly, the result would either be that the pill would become a normal pill like he usually refined or result in a cauldron explosion because of losing control over the pills.

So he used a subtle approach and used an array to transfer and compress the pill's essence to the center in two intervals, along with adding 1-3 more arrays in the center and the inner pills during the array inscribing step, which would make them more tolerant to the excess Essence along with the compressing force of the array.

After this step was also completed successfully, Yang Feng swiftly, but carefully, solidified the fully compressed pill with runes dancing around it. Once the pills was fully condensed and the refinement was successful, only then did Yang Feng let out a breath he had been holding and quickly opened the cauldron.

As he opened the lid, a potent scent of herbs permitted into the room. After looking Inside he found a single pill resting in the cauldron. As he pulled out the pill and saw it, he was really surprised, but before he could think further, a voice sounded.

"What pill is this, big brother?", only after hearing the voice did he look around, finding that Yang Kai was now just behind him and was looking at the pill in his hands, surprising him as he still hadn't paid anything around him any attention.

"Xiao Kai? Since when are you in here?", Yang Feng asked. Yang Kai simply answered, "about an hour, but I saw that you were refining a pill so I stayed quite."

Yang Feng nodded dumbly, not believing that he hadn't even felt Yang Kai's presence in his room, for over an hour. Shaking his head, he looked at the pill in his hand and answered, "this is a True Qi Revolving Pill."

The pill was of the standard size and had Pill Veins on it. But one thing was different from his previous pills with Pill Veins, this one had way more Pill Veins. Pill Veins were eqvalent to human Veins or Meridian Pathways. The purer the pill the more Pill Veins it would have and this pill had atleast 5 times more Pill Veins then his previous ones, being nearly fully covered in Veins.

Yang Kai asked him why this one was different as he had seen one before when Yang Feng had given some to his father, who had asked for it for someone. Yang Feng then explained to him about Pill Veins and Pill Clouds, leaving him in awe.

Yang Kai looked at his brother who sighed and said, "I wanted to tell you about a few things. But now after thinking, I think it would be better to tell you when Mother and Father are also present so that I don't have to repeat it again."

Yang Kai although curious, nodded as it was Yang Feng's decision to make. Yang Kai heard as Yang Feng continued, "I called you here because..."
