Major General, a Male Zerg has been found on the battlefield!!

42

Though the Major General did not bring his personal doctor on this trip to Earth, the Empire ensured the safety of the Major General’s unborn child and He Qin by having a military doctor on board the starship.

As soon as they knew Major General’s wing was injured, the military doctor was urgently notified and asked to wait in the starship’s medical bay.

“Lord He Qin, your little one is very healthy. In about a month, we will be able to determine its gender,” the zerg military doctor said with a flattering smile.

He naively believed that, like other males, this male zerg was more concerned about the safety of the egg than the health of the female zerg.

However, He Qin could not be reassured by this response. To him, the safety of Rhys was far more important than that of the child.

“Doctor, what I want to know is the condition of the Major General?” He Qin asked, his eyes fixed on the zerg military doctor with a warning look that made the doctor’s heart skip a beat.

Lord He Qin was indeed a very imposing figure.

“Overall, the Major General is not in any serious danger. Fortunately, you and the Major General returned in time. The inhibiting liquid had not fully penetrated his wing yet. The small surgery just now was to remove this liquid,” the military doctor explained.

Unaware of He Qin’s mastery of mental energy lines, the doctor did not realize that it was He Qin who used his mental power to extract the liquid before it could damage the nerves.

He merely thought the liquid did not have enough time to destroy the important nerve systems in the Major General’s wing.

“How long will he need to stay here?”

“The injuries to the Major General’s wing are not minor. Based on my estimation, it will take about a day.”

He Qin slowly walked to the treatment chamber, looking at the sleeping Rhys with a hint of pain in his eyes.

This guy, to protect him, did not even care about the most important wings of a female zerg or the egg he eagerly awaited.

To have such a ‘wife,’ what more could a husband ask for?

Rhys, being in the gestation period, was already physically weaker than before. Upon returning to the starship and relaxing his nerves after the battle, he quickly fell into a deep sleep.

Rhys’s most severe injury was to his back wings, which meant he could only lie face down in the treatment chamber. However, since staying in that position for a long time would put pressure on the egg, the military doctor had him lie on his side.

Whether it was accompanying the male zerg on the journey or fighting while carrying an egg, it was extremely exhausting.

He was so tired that as soon as he lay down in the treatment chamber, he quickly fell asleep.

Outside the door, a female soldier knocked. Upon receiving a response, he bowed and reported to He Qin, “Lord He Qin, Mr. Enzo requests an audience.”

Given that the assassination attempt on the male zerg happened on Earth, Enzo, as the person in charge of this diplomatic mission, could not avoid responsibility. He Qin was not surprised by his request to see him.

“Where is he now?”

“Reporting, Lord He Qin, Mr. Enzo is outside the starship.”

“Let him in and have him wait in my office.”

“Yes, sir.”

In the minds of the female soldiers, this male zerg was always sunny and cheerful. They had never seen He Qin with such a solemn demeanor.

The soldiers who reported in and those standing guard outside the door almost buckled at their knees, barely avoiding kneeling due to the oppressive tone of He Qin’s voice.

He Qin did not immediately leave the medical room to meet Enzo.

After the soldiers left, he pulled up a chair and quietly sat beside the treatment chamber, his eyes soft as he watched the sleeping Rhys.

Enzo was reporting alliance matters to the President when his trusted aide burst in, informing him of the assassination attempt on the male zerg and the Major General in Country C.

By then, He Qin had already been rescued by the female soldiers from Country C.

Upon hearing that the male zerg was unharmed but the Major General was seriously injured while protecting him, the President immediately ordered Enzo to thoroughly investigate the assassination.

To save time, Enzo didn’t even change his clothes, rushing towards the zerg starship while gathering information from his subordinates.

Humans had previously formed a temporary alliance with the zergs to fight a common enemy. They had seen the exterior of the zerg starship but had never had the opportunity to enter it.

Though Enzo was not someone unfamiliar with the world, he couldn’t help but feel awe when faced with such high-tech, interstellar transportation.

As the hatch opened, Enzo’s eyes couldn’t take in enough of the surroundings, trying to memorize the internal environment.

If he could describe this to architects and create structural diagrams of the alien ship, it would be a tremendous asset for humanity.

After all, mastering the zerg interstellar travel technology could advance human technology by at least a century.

How could Enzo not be excited about something so beneficial to Earth?

There is an old saying on Earth: the arrangement of a room reflects the owner’s personality. A room with simple office tools but filled with weapon models suggested a straightforward owner with a fondness for military affairs.

Enzo, waiting as if for a judgment, spent half an hour alone in the room, his mental state shifting from anxious to nervous, and finally to calm.

All the doors on the starship required ID card recognition. Upon hearing the sound of the alloy door sliding open, Enzo immediately stood up, “Mr. He Qin, are you alright?”

“It’s nothing serious, but my partner is badly injured.” He Qin’s cold expression reflected his foul mood. “Mr. Enzo, do you have any information?”

“One of the soldiers I sent to protect you survived the ambush. He reported that those who attacked you claimed to be interstellar pirates, seemingly hired by someone. I hope this information is useful to you.”

Enzo assumed He Qin was questioning him and did not dare to hide anything, revealing all the information he had.

“Thank you for your honesty, Mr. Enzo.” He Qin had already deduced this information from the words of Fox Eyes and their leader. “The zergs are not yet familiar with Earth’s situation. I need your soldiers’ assistance with something.”

“Bring the person in.”

He Qin had waited half an hour before seeing Enzo, partly to calm his anger and partly to await information from the female soldiers about the capture.

During the capture, three pirates were fatally injured by wing strikes, and Fox Eyes was captured, but their leader managed to escape, albeit wounded.

The soldiers used all the restraints on Fox Eyes, even administering a muscle relaxant, making it impossible for him to bite his tongue and commit suicide.

“Where did you park your aircraft?” He Qin crouched in front of Fox Eyes, taking an iron rod from a female soldier and prodding his cheek.

The iron rod had an electric shock function typically used for interrogation. He Qin, still compassionate, refrained from using this function on Fox Eyes.

“Ugh, I… I don’t know.”

These pirates were notoriously tight-lipped. A mere muscle relaxant was nothing more than a tickle for those accustomed to living on the edge. He Qin’s methods were child’s play to them.

“What’s your captain’s name?”

“I don’t know.”

“Who hired you?”

“…”

He Qin had never interrogated a prisoner before. No matter what he asked, the answer was always “I don’t know.”

He desperately missed Rhys, whom he considered omnipotent.

The female soldiers standing by thought to themselves, His Highness He Qin is too gentle. If it were the Major General interrogating, this guy wouldn’t last half a day.

“Look, he’s too tight-lipped, and I don’t have time to waste here.” He Qin dropped the iron rod and turned to Enzo.

“So, what do you want me to do?” Enzo was relieved that the male zerg hadn’t blamed humanity for the oversight and was more than willing to help.

“I need you to immediately contact soldiers familiar with the local situation and capture their leader alive before he escapes Earth.”

Hiring interstellar pirates and preparing drugs specifically for zergs, the mastermind behind this was clearly premeditated and determined to eliminate him and Rhys on Earth.

The leader of the star pirates would undoubtedly know more details about their operations than his subordinates. Once they capture the leader and have Rhys interrogate him, it should be no problem to extract information about their employer.

“If people don’t offend me, I won’t offend them.” This principle was taught to He Qin by his friends at the orphanage. He wanted to show the mastermind behind this that he wasn’t a pushover.

“Leave this small matter to me.”

Enzo wasted no time, immediately turning to contact the local mayor to organize the search. Having botched one task, he couldn’t afford to mess up another or his position would be in jeopardy.

He Qin realized he lacked a talent for interrogation and ordered the female soldiers to take Fox Eyes away and keep him under 24-hour surveillance until Rhys woke up.

Once the treatment pod closed, it emitted a certain scent and light that stimulated zerg cell division and tissue regeneration, accelerating wound healing.

After half a day, the wounds on Rhys’s wings had mostly healed.

When Rhys woke up, it was already early morning on Earth. He blinked, discerning the squished facial features of He Qin, who had been leaning on the treatment pod.

He shifted within the cramped treatment pod, causing the red alarm outside to go off, waking He Qin.

“Ah, you’re awake~~” He Qin mumbled, still drowsy and his voice thick with sleep.

He fumbled with the buttons on the left side of the pod, squinting to find the green ‘open’ button, wanting to help Rhys out of the pod.

“Are you all right? Do you need to lie down again?” He anxiously reached out to touch Rhys’s extended wings.

But the newly healed wings were sensitive, and Rhys couldn’t withstand his beloved male zerg’s touch.

Rhys shivered slightly in He Qin’s embrace, his wings trembling.

“Don’t worry, I’ve completely healed.” Rhys retracted his wings back under his skin, fearing he wouldn’t be able to resist pouncing on He Qin if he continued touching.

Seeing Rhys retract his wings so quickly reassured He Qin that he was indeed fully healed.

Worried about Rhys, He Qin hadn’t rested since returning. It was only because he couldn’t hold out any longer that he had dozed off for a few minutes by the treatment pod.

He yawned several times, soon feeling dizzy and leaning into Rhys.

“Let’s go back to rest, shall we?” Rhys whispered in He Qin’s ear.

“Mmm, I’m so tired. Carry me back.”

He Qin’s most trusted and relied-upon person was finally back by his side, allowing him to drop his pretense of maturity and, like a child tired from play, fall straight into Rhys’s warm embrace.

“Okay.”

In the warm yellow light of the starship’s corridor, the tall, silver-haired female zerg carried his most precious treasure, walking slowly away.
