Ryan briefly explained some key points from the book. As He Qin listened, he found the information strangely familiar.
After racking his brain for a while, he remembered that the teacher sent by the Imperial government had covered these topics too. Back then, he had only listened to the first part before falling asleep on the desk.
The female teacher, of course, didn’t dare to wake a sleeping male zer. He continued writing and drawing on the display, raising the voice slightly in hopes of rousing the dozing young male zerg.
Unfortunately, such noise was nothing to a sleeping He Qin, who could sleep soundly even under the bombardment of space pirates.
As a result, He Qin had slept through the basic knowledge lessons about male mental power.
“I say, do you have plans later?” Ryan had just returned to his bedroom to change into clothes for going out, and after walking into the living room, he looked at the male zerg sitting quietly, flipping through a book. Thinking about the person they were going to meet today, and also thinking it would be nice to bring He Qin along, he spoke up.
He Qin opened his cloud device, found the time display, confirmed the time, and then replied, “Not really, there’s still some time before Rhys finishes work.”
Driving Rhys to and from work every day had become a daily routine for He Qin. The female soldier zergs stationed in the camp, who had initially been panicked and shocked, were now able to maintain their work status at any time, skillfully registering He Qin and letting him in.
“You really do spoil Rhys as much as they say outside.” Ryan turned around. His female lord, Sang De, was respectfully tidying his clothes.
Although his group of friends never verbally abused the female zergs, they also didn’t restrict the female zerg’s actions. However, they were still a group of zergs educated by the empire.
At most, they could grant female zergs a certain amount of freedom, but they wouldn’t take the female zerg’s matters to heart and put them into actual action like He Qin did.
“Spoiling him? You haven’t seen the way he treats me, now that’s spoiling.” Thinking of how Rhys always looked like a caring elder in front of him, worrying if He Qin was eating and dressing well, and caring about everything he wanted to do, He Qin’s lips curved into a smile, his eyes filled with happiness.
Upon hearing He Qin’s words, Sang Fe and Charlie lifted their heads together. From Ryan’s unseen angle, they exchanged a discreet glance.
In this society, it’s commonly heard that female zergs treasure male zergs dearly, but it’s rare to hear of male zergs wanting to reciprocate this affection equally, or even doubly, to female zergs.
Major Rhys is indeed fortunate to meet a master who regards him as unique and respects his wishes like this.
If only he had such a master himself.
Charlie smiled bitterly, but quickly his face returned to its expressionless state. At this moment, he was inwardly cursing his foggy mind.
No, he couldn’t think like that. The master was already good enough to the female zergs, and they hadn’t received excessive punishment at home or been sent away like gifts. As a male servant to the master, he couldn’t have any dissatisfaction with such an outstanding master.
“If you have nothing to do, come with me to meet a friend.” Ryan, dressed in a blue zerg uniform, appeared even fairer-skinned, like the kind of youthful school idol.
Compared to Ryan, He Qin, with his tall stature and healthy skin tone, looked somewhat like the sporty type in school who excelled in various sports but was always at the bottom academically.
“Sure, you know I’m awkward with strangers, so don’t expect me to start conversations.” Anyway, it was still half a day until Rhys finished work, so he needed to find a way to pass the time.
Today, He Qin also had another task, to introduce Ivan, to as many people as possible, which was also a good opportunity.
“Don’t worry, my friends are all well-mannered male zergs, they won’t make things difficult for you.” He knew what He Qin was worried about, and after saying this, he glanced at the female zerg who had maintained a distance of one meter from He Qin throughout.
Ryan’s full name is Ryan Walker, and he is a male zerg of the Walker family. Thousands of years ago, when the advanced zerg race still operated under a hereditary monarchy system, the Walker clan was a noble family of the empire.
Over the millennia, this family has endured numerous disasters, nearly facing extinction, with only Ryan and another male zerg named Barton Walker remaining in the family.
Upon reaching adulthood, Ryan, an A-class male zerg, chose to inherit the role of spiritual guidance counselor from his male father, while Barton opted for the challenging path of politics.
“Unity in adversity, prosperity in unity”—the Walker family always stands together on the same front line. For the sake of his cousin’s future, Ryan openly and covertly supports Barton.
Over the years, Ryan has funneled many male and female talents into Barton’s team.
He Qin parked the aircraft at Ryan’s residence. Sitting in the aircraft piloted by Sang De, Ryan arrived at the gray-black building.
This place ensures social order and stability among the zerg society. Here, every zerg, including male zergs, is busy beyond measure. Those who choose this path must sacrifice more than other male zergs.
Following Ryan’s footsteps, He Qin and Ivan arrived at an office. The electronic nameplate on the office door displayed the name of its owner—Barton Walker.
“Hey, Ryan, long time no see.”
Upon entering, a smartly dressed male zerg was busy at his desk, surrounded by various documents, appearing quite occupied. Upon seeing their arrival, the male zerg set down his pen, pulled Ryan into a hug.
“Cousin Barton, let go, I have a friend I want to introduce to you.” This male zerg named Barton seemed to have undergone systematic physical training, his strength easily overpowering Ryan, revealing a thin layer of muscle on his arms due to the effort.
Barton released Ryan from his embrace, his gaze now fixed on He Qin. “This is the little male zerg I have mentioned to you, He Qin, who’s been stranded on Earth.”
As a male zerg long engaged in politics, Barton’s eyes held a light that He Qin couldn’t quite understand.
“I’ve heard Ryan speak highly of you, a male zerg who excels in all aspects. Truly exceptional upon meeting you today.”
Greetings among male zergs with good imperial relations often involve hugs. Since Barton approached first, He Qin had no choice but to reciprocate with a hug.
“And who is this?” Barton squinted at the female zerg behind He Qin.
“Um… Hello, I… I’m Ivan, currently serving… under Lord… He Qin.” Facing a stranger male zerg, Ivan’s fear was once again amplified. He replied hesitantly, subconsciously hiding behind He Qin.
Today was about helping Ivan adapt to external life, and He Qin didn’t want to make things too difficult for this injured female father. He stood tall, using his body to shield Ivan from Barton’s gaze.
“Mr. Barton, your praise is too kind.” This male zerg in politics was definitely not a simple figure. He always felt like his soul would be laid bare in Barton’s presence, He Qin thought to himself, dodging Barton’s scrutinizing gaze.
“Cousin, been quite busy lately, huh?” Ryan knew how interested his cousin was in He Qin, but also didn’t want Barton to intimidate He Qin, so he changed the subject.
“Pre-election period is always like this, should ease up after these six months.”
Barton was one of the empire’s chief candidates, and from the current situation, the next emperor would either be him or another male zerg with military power.
Currently, Barton had a crucial task handed down by the current emperor—to negotiate a long-term alliance with Earth.
Earth possessed abundant natural resources, and during the last military cooperation, the zerg race witnessed the unity and mutual assistance among humans.
His Highness believed that cooperating with Earth would provide the zerg race with numerous rare resources, undoubtedly outweighing any disadvantages.
Barton was in charge of and responsible for this matter. At this critical juncture, failure could directly lead to his unsuccessful election.
“He Qin, do you want to return to Earth?” Ryan exchanged a glance with Barton. Knowing what needed to be done, Ryan intervened.
Barton wanted He Qin to represent the advanced zerg race and negotiate with Earth.
Currently, Earth’s United Nations President was said to have risen from the military ranks. When He Qin was still a human soldier, this president greatly admired him. Sending a male zerg with deep ties to Earth for negotiations would likely have a higher success rate than sending a group of unfamiliar aliens.
“Of course, I do.” Mentioning his homeland, He Qin’s expression turned melancholic. He had vowed that given the chance, he would return to Earth, to see his brothers in the military camp again, and his companions from the orphanage.
“Now that there’s this opportunity, are you interested?” Barton settled back into his office chair, crossing his hands under his chin, studying He Qin with interest.
Based on these days of observation, He Qin was an emotionally rich male zerg with strong feelings for Earth. He would surely agree; Barton had confidence in that.
“Tell me more about it.”
Although eager to return to Earth, He Qin wouldn’t easily trust a stranger. He remained cautious.
“The zerg race is preparing to form an alliance with Earth. I need a reliable male zerg to represent me there.” Barton bent down, rummaging through a drawer, then placed a neatly arranged stack of documents on the desk, moving towards He Qin. “I’ve found this male zerg, and it’s you.”
Having He Qin involved in this matter was a step towards integrating him into his team. Another significant reason was that through He Qin, Barton could gain control over General Rhys’s powerful force, possibly even manipulating the Starry Night Legion.
By then, no one would be able to stop Barton from becoming the emperor.
“Let me think about it.” He Qin took the stack of documents, the first page reading ‘Earth Alliance Matters’. Flipping through several pages, the content matched Barton’s description, with no harmful intentions towards Earth.
It seemed the zerg race genuinely wanted friendly cooperation with Earth. Instead of entrusting this opportunity to another male zerg, He Qin preferred to be personally involved.
“I agree. When do we depart?” He Qin noticed a date written on one of the pages, two weeks from now.
“Two weeks from now. You won’t be going alone; we’ll need sufficient security personnel and my diplomatic team.”
Though He Qin was the primary candidate for negotiating with Earth, Barton couldn’t pin all his hopes on one male zerg. It was a political decision.
He Qin was merely the target he sought and the pawn to relax the humans on Earth. The ones he truly trusted would undoubtedly be his long-serving team.
“Understood.” He Qin readily agreed. “I have one condition: I must bring Rhys and Ivan with me on this mission.”
Negotiations could take an unknown amount of time, and he couldn’t bear to leave these two females alone on the mother planet.
“No problem. With General Rhys joining us, things will definitely go more smoothly.” It wasn’t unreasonable for the young male zerg to request bringing his family members along; some zergs, when they went out, wished they could bring their whole family.
Barton stood up and, according to Earth customs, extended his hand to shake He Qin’s hand. “Pleasure to cooperate with you, Mr. He Qin.”
“Pleasure to cooperate with you, Mr. Barton.” He Qin shook the zerg’s hand in return.
He secretly compared his height with Barton’s and was quite satisfied to find that standing together, he was even a head taller than Barton.
Only among male zergs could He Qin reclaim some of his pride in terms of height.
Author’s note:
Yes, my kid is just like this, caring about height.
