Major General, a Male Zerg has been found on the battlefield!!

30

“Master, I have to go in.” Rhys steeled himself and finally said it.

They had been dawdling outside the military camp for a while now. If he didn’t go in soon, he would miss the morning meeting hosted by the General.

Lately, his master had been acting a bit strange. Not only did he increasingly enjoy sticking by his side, but he also insisted on sending him to the camp in the morning. Even at the camp gate, he would hold him for a conversation until it was almost time to let him go.

“I really wish I could keep you at home and never let you out.” He Qin’s expression suddenly turned fierce, then deflated like a balloon, sighing deeply. “Sigh, I can’t be so selfish.”

After a few months of married life, He Qin couldn’t bear to be without Rhys. Now, he even felt that a few hours without seeing Rhys was unbearably painful.

“This morning, I ordered some ingredients. When I come home today, I’ll make you a Black Forest cake, okay?” His master’s feigned unhappiness was too cute. Rhys’s expression softened even more as he brushed aside the hair on his master’s forehead and gave him a comforting kiss.

He Qin was more important to Rhys than he was to himself. Whatever He Qin liked to eat or play, Rhys would find ways to get it for him.

His master loved all kinds of Earth desserts, so Rhys spent his off-duty hours every day learning how to make them, just so He Qin could eat them anytime he wanted.

“Alright, I don’t want to delay you. I’ll take good care of Father, don’t worry.” He Qin, standing at over 1.8 meters tall, was still shorter than the nearly 1.9-meter Rhys. He had to stand on tiptoe to kiss Rhys’s cheek.

He wondered if he would ever have a chance to grow taller.

He Qin’s height was considered impressive on Earth, but in the world of Zergs, where the average height of females was almost 1.9 meters, it wasn’t great to always feel shorter than others.

Especially annoying was having to stand on tiptoe to kiss his wife.

The soldiers on guard nearby stole glances. Once Major General Rhys turned to enter the camp, the gentleness in his eyes instantly vanished, replaced by the sharpness of a drawn blade.

If his comrades saw how their usually strict and tough Major General Rhys acted so gently and lovingly with a male zerg, they might suspect he had been replaced.

“Father, I need to meet another male zerg named Ryan later. He came to our house last time. He’s an easy-going male zerg. Just follow me.”

“Alright, I’ll stick close to you, Xiao Qin.”

The first stage of helping his female father adapt to society was to expose him to other Imperial male zergs besides Qi Lun.

He Qin wanted Ivan to know that the Empire had refined, amiable, and reasonable male zergs apart from Qi Lun.

Although he hadn’t piloted a spacecraft in decades, Ivan’s driving skills were still stable and reliable. He Qin even took a short nap on the way.

When they arrived, Ryan was bent over a table, examining a map. “He Qin, quick, come in,” he called, putting down his magnifying glass and waving to the young male zerg.

Ryan’s “female lord,” Sang De, opened the door for the guests and then stood up in the corner as protocol dictated.

“Good morning, Mr. Sang De.” Despite Sang De trying to remain inconspicuous, his broad frame caught He Qin’s attention.

Out of courtesy, He Qin looked at the female zerg in the corner and greeted him.

“Hello, Lord He Qin.” It was the first time a male zerg had actively and respectfully greeted Sang De. Startled, he looked up at He Qin’s smiling face, then quickly lowered his head, nearly forgetting the rule against looking directly at male zergs other than his master.

“He Qin, what would you like to drink? Just tell Charlie to prepare it,” Ryan, seeing Sang De’s breach of etiquette, didn’t mind much. Ryan wasn’t an unreasonable male zerg.

Charlie was one of Ryan’s female servants, responsible for his daily needs. As an adult male zerg, Ryan had one female lord and two female servants, which was considered quite devoted among high-ranking Zergs.

Upon hearing his master’s instructions, Charlie came out of the kitchen, still wearing an apron from cleaning, and stood beside Ryan, waiting for the guests’ orders.

“Just two glasses of warm water, please.” The situation of Ryan living under the same roof with both his female lord and servants made He Qin uncomfortable.

Ivan also stiffened, the clear hierarchy between the male, female lord, and servants reminding him of life in the Qi household.

Punishments, tortures, threats—those terrible memories flooded Ivan’s mind, and the male scent emanating from Ryan triggered his fear.

Sweat broke out uncontrollably on Ivan’s body as terror set in.

“Father, Ivan,” He Qin supported him onto the sofa. “Don’t be afraid, have a sip of warm water.” Emulating Rhys’s care for him, He Qin comforted the shaken Ivan.

The warm water touching his lips, Ivan trembled as he took the glass, sitting aside to calm his nerves.

“He Qin, you mentioned that you had something to ask me. What is it?” Ryan’s eyes lingered on the distressed female for a few seconds.

“Oh, look at me, I almost forgot the main issue.” He Qin patted his head. He indeed had something to consult Ryan about today. “Remember when you did the mental counseling and said my mental power had been developed?”

He had recently been troubled by unusual mental power and urgently needed an expert’s help. Ryan was the only male zerg in the central system he trusted.

“Yes, what about it? Is there something abnormal?” Hearing that He Qin’s question was about mental power, Ryan suddenly became serious. This was no small matter.

A male zerg’s mental power often represented their health status. Any abnormalities usually indicated a significant illness.

“Recently, I often have strong premonitions about certain things. For example, when Rhys is making desserts at home, even before the preset time is up, my mind tells me that the machine will beep in a few seconds, and it does. Also, my vision seems to have improved a lot. From the top floor of my house, I can clearly see the Zerg government building.”

There were more signs, actually. He Qin had also been more intensely demanding of Rhys, driven by uncontrollable instincts. Often, by the time he regained clarity, Rhys was already exhausted and asleep.

“This situation seems like your mental power is expanding. Let me take a look first.” Ryan said, pulling He Qin’s hand. This time, instead of mental power lines entering the head, golden lines flowed from the wrist’s blood vessels to the heart.

After a few minutes, Ryan retracted the mental power lines, his face filled with joy. “Your mental power is very mature now. Those strange phenomena are normal.”

“Hey, when did you undergo secret training?”

As an A-grade male zerg, He Qin’s fully matured mental power would enhance his vision, make his premonitions stronger, and even his overall physical fitness could rival that of weaker female zergs. These were documented signs of mature mental power.

“But I haven’t trained.” He Qin pulled his wrist back from Ryan’s hand and rebuttoned his cuff.

“Then what’s going on?” Having such mature mental power without extensive training and stimulation seemed impossible.

Ryan searched his mind for possible explanations for this situation and suddenly thought of something. “Did you go to the K19 system’s training ground? Did you participate in any simulation competitions?”

“Yes, I played for an afternoon and got third place overall.” Recalling that afternoon of carefree shooting practice, He Qin proudly announced his ranking in Zone A.

He still couldn’t believe there was a male in the Empire better than him in this regard.

“That explains it then. Your mental power matured gradually through unintentional repeated stimulation.” This was why, during the last counseling session, Ryan discovered that the young male zerg’s mental power had already been developed. It was likely a result of some effect from his time on the battlefield.

He Qin’s growth and transformation differed from other Imperial male zergs. The development and maturation of his mental power might have followed a unique path.

“Charlie, go find this book.”

“Yes, Master.”

Ryan wrote down the name of the book and handed the note to Charlie.

Ryan’s study was on the third floor of the house. He often spent his time reading, and he had a vast collection of books. Since Charlie usually managed the study, it was most appropriate to have him find the book.

Charlie, a lieutenant in the military, was efficient and precise. Finding a book in a room he managed was no challenge at all.

“This book will be very helpful for you to understand and control your mental power.”

He Qin accepted the book titled *Basic Knowledge of Mental Power*. He flipped through the pages, relieved that the book wasn’t too thick.

Reading always made him sleepy. When he was a child in the orphanage, the director would use children’s stories to put him to sleep. As he grew up, memorizing the soldier’s code in the military camp would often end with him being punished for dozing off.

“Father, please keep this for me.” He Qin handed the book to the female zerg, treating it like a hot potato. He was aware of his bad habit of carelessness and didn’t want to risk losing the book.

“Isn’t this the female servant rescued from the Qi family, Ivan?” Only after He Qin’s movements did Ryan focus on the female zerg sitting nearby.

It seemed Major General Rhys inherited all his features from his female father. The beautiful silver hair and lively golden eyes were identical.

“He is now my father, Ivan, with no relation to the Qi family.” Hearing Ryan mention the Qi family, He Qin stood up abruptly, positioning himself protectively in front of Ivan.

He Qin respected Ivan as a senior, holding a place nearly as significant as Rhys in his heart.

The Qi family would never again be a constraint for these two female zergs. To He Qin, they were independent individuals.

If Zerg society insisted on labeling them, it could only be as individuals connected to He Qin.
