LUNA’S SECRET

Chapter 15: Chapter 14

The two friends went to Luna's room and chatted for a while neither bringing up Erica's mating, Luna did not feel close enough to Erica to bring it up ,because they had barely gotten to know each other properly before the whole events that had subsequently taken place.

Erica did not feel like volunteering such intimate information, even though her face still flamed whenever she thought of the naughty things her husband did to her with his voice whispering naughty things, his tongue probing her innermost secrets, his lips and male member bringing her more pleasure she had thought was possible and when they had sang their fang in each other to draw blood and complete the mating, she had screamed her voice hoarse,.

His mouth had covered most of her screams as she blacked out from the intense orgasm. Erica bid her friend goodbye and returned to her room not wanting her new husband to know she had snuck out to bid good bye to a dear friend, this may be the last time they ever saw each other again.

Erica was sad she couldn't take Lauretta with her, but she was happy that those ruthless girls had gotten what they deserved and Lauretta had gotten a better work place and was now higher in rank than those other girls, silently Erica wished Lauretta well, she seemed like a genuinely good person that was dealt a cruel hand by life.

Luna knew she had to find out what was being said in the meeting, no matter the cost. Her instincts told her that the conversation held in that tiny conference room could change everything, and she wasn't about to sit idle. As soon as Erica left the room, Luna sprang into action. She hurried down the corridor but stopped short when she saw two towering guards stationed outside the door. Their sharp eyes and imposing presence made it clear she wouldn't be able to sneak past them.

She retreated to her room, her mind racing for another way in. That's when she remembered the manhole. She had stumbled upon it accidentally weeks ago while cleaning a corner of her room. Hidden beneath a loose floorboard, it led to a network of narrow passages that ran through the entire building something she doubted anyone else knew about. Her desperation drove her to act. Quietly lifting the manhole cover, she lowered herself into the dark, claustrophobic space.

The passage was pitch black and stiflingly dusty, with cobwebs clinging to her arms as she crawled on her stomach. She moved as quietly as possible, knowing even a small noise could draw attention. Her heart pounded in her chest when a loose board creaked under her weight. If anyone heard, they'd probably dismiss it as rats or maybe even a wild cat. Still, she pressed on, inching her way forward until she reached the section above the conference room.

Carefully, she positioned herself over a vent and peered down. The dimly lit room was small but felt heavy with tension. Four figures sat around a table: two Alphas and two Betas. They were some of the strongest leaders remaining from the once-thriving werewolf packs. Once, there had been four dominant packs guarding their world: the Black-Moon Pack, which controlled the eastern territory; the Red-Moon Pack in the west; the Golden-Moon Pack in the north; and the Silver-Moon Pack in the south. Together, they kept balance and maintained peace, their borders preventing chaos from spilling into the human world.

The human territory was a stark contrast to the werewolf lands. A modern, bustling town, it sat at the edge of werewolf territory. Humans went about their lives oblivious to the supernatural forces surrounding them. Though myths and rumors of werewolves circulated among the more superstitious individuals. most people dismissed them as legends. The treaty forged thousands of years ago ensured the safety of both humans and wolves by keeping their worlds separate. Werewolves were forbidden from entering human territory without permission, as the treaty was bound by magic. Any wolf that crossed the border risked dire consequences.

Beyond the borders of the werewolf packs lay the unclaimed wilds a dangerous, lawless expanse of dense forests, treacherous rivers, towering cliffs, and an unrelenting wilderness. The wilds were home to feral rogues, outcasts who had abandoned pack life. Worse still, the wilds were blanketed in heavy snow during the colder months, making them nearly impossible to navigate. These lands served as a haven for the lawless, but they also threatened the stability of the packs.

Now, two of the packs had fallen. The Red-Moon and Silver-Moon Packs had been decimated by relentless rogue attacks, leaving only the Black-Moon Pack in the east and the Golden-Moon Pack in the north. Luna's heart sank as she listened to the Alphas and Betas discuss their dire situation. Their forces were stretched thin, and the loss of two packs had left their borders vulnerable to further attacks. Worse, there were rumors of traitors within their ranks, wolves who had betrayed their own kind and aligned with the rogues that felt there should be no cast system.

The room was thick with frustration as the Alphas debated their next move.

"We can't keep waiting to be attacked!" one of the Alphas growled, slamming his fist on the table. His fiery tone betrayed his anger and desperation. "If we don't take the fight to them, they'll pick us off one by one until there's nothing left!"

"And how do you propose we do that?" the other Alpha Marcus snapped his patients wearing thin, his eyes glowed golden showing he was loosing control, His voice was sharp, but exhaustion dulled the edges. "Our forces are already spread too thin. If we try to reclaim the fallen territories, we'll leave ourselves exposed. It's suicide."

The Betas exchanged uneasy glances, clearly reluctant to weigh in. Luna could see the truth in both arguments. Attacking the rogues directly was risky, but doing nothing wasn't much better.

"What about the human territory?" one of the Beta asked hesitantly. "If we could".

"No!" the second Alpha cut him off sharply. "The treaty is sacred. If we break it, we'll have more than rogues to deal with. The humans might not know about us, but if we step foot in their lands, they'll retaliate. And you know as well as I do that humans have their own weapons and allies. That's not a risk we can take."

The room fell silent, the weight of their predicament settling over them like a suffocating blanket. Finally, the first Alpha spoke again, his voice lower but no less firm.

"Then we focus on defense. We fortify our borders and root out the traitors in our midst. If we can't attack, we'll make sure they can't destroy what we have left."

The others nodded reluctantly, though the tension in their eyes remained. Luna bit her lip as she absorbed their words. They were trying to save what was left of their world, but she couldn't shake the feeling that defense alone wouldn't be enough. The rogues weren't just aimless outcasts they were organized, strategic, and brutal. If the packs didn't act soon, the chaos would only grow.

As the meeting drew to a close, Luna carefully slithered back the way she came. Dust clung to her clothes and hair, but she didn't care. Her mind was racing with everything she had just heard. Whatever the packs decided, one thing was clear: their world was on the brink of collapse, and Luna knew she would do whatever it took to protect it even if it meant breaking the rules herself, silently she prayed for a miracle.
