Chapter 64. Atticus Rhodes
“Hey Rakki-” “No!!” I screamed at the door, I had moved the desk in the way to stop anyone from bothering me. Jayden continued to knock, trying to bother me enough to get up for school. “C’mon man! We gotta go, you and Blair already skipped breakfast!” He yelled back through the door, making me grumble as I maneuvered the blankets over my body to help stay comfortably warm. I had almost no sleep last night, while Blair only lasted for half an hour for her first time, the spirits weren’t to be trifled with.
Blair giggled as she pushed her body closer into mine, her breasts softly pressed against my chest, helping to remind me what I had done. The lingering feeling of guilt was still present, despite Blair’s happy demeanor. “You better not regret this decision. You can’t go back now.” I murmured to her while the rest of the spirits all piling on top of us slowly woke up as well. Dreamsprite laughed with a conniving grin. “I don’t think she can be with another man after last night either~”
I scowled at her, but Blair nodded with a full smile, gaining my attention back towards her. “And neither can you.” She said before kissing me, getting out of bed naked to put her school attire back on. While she did, the rest of the nude spirits all gave me quick morning kisses before fading away into my deck. By the time we were done, Blair was dressed, and I needed to be as well. I got up, using the sheets to hide my lower half, but Blair stared and waited for the moment I would have to let go and change into my boxers.
I paused, but with the time crunch of having Jayden being even more annoying, I eventually let go of the covers to get dressed. Blair’s smirk grew as she stared at my lower member while I moved around. As fast as I could manage I threw my pants on first, much to Blair’s dismay. She whined with a pout as I put on the rest of my clothes. “Could you not ogle me?” I asked with a sigh, getting my Duel Disk and Cards. “Nope~ Not with my boyfriend!”
I faltered at her using the term, the cheesy, happy term. It was embarrassing as hell with those titles. I sighed as Blair continued to giggle from my reactions. I ignored her while moving the desk back away from the door. I heard a grunting sound on the top bunk, gathering my attention. The covers slowly moved before settling back down again. “Is it ok to leave her alone?” Blair asked, worried she might try to escape.
I shook my head. “No, there is nowhere for someone allergic to sunlight to go from here during the day. She still is weak from losing her Shadow Choker, it could take her all day to be awake again.” Blair nodded with a smile as I led the way out of the room. Jayden was outside, together with Chazz and Syrus. It was normal for Syrus to be with Jayden, but Chazz was new. Although it was good seeing him around to help keep a lid on Jayden’s antics. I smirked while lightly hitting Jayden’s shoulder. “Lead the way.”
Jayden laughed while marching towards the school like a drill commander. “Off to school we go!” He cheered with his fist in the air. Chazz just shook his head along with me. “Such a friggin moron…” He muttered, making me chuckle in response. I was in a pretty good mood today, aside from the sleep deprivation. ‘But at least it was for a good cause.’
Classes were normal for the day, me mostly sleeping through them all until I felt Blair shaking me awake. I blinked a few times and groaned a response, noticing that Banner’s class was still happening. She woke me up way earlier than normal. I was about to ask her why, but she whispered to me before I spoke. “Alexis, just messaged me, Atticus woke up.”
My head popped off my arm, and my tiredness left my body. I glanced around the classroom to see mostly dazed eyes, and Banner off in his own world of teaching. I used my head to point to the door, Blair nodded in response, and we silently stood up from our chairs. Banner was facing the chalkboard, doodling some compounds of alchemy or something, but what I cared about was that his back was facing us. Allowing for a clean getaway. We both ran towards the medical office, slamming the door open to see what was inside.
Atticus was sitting up in his bed, Alexis sitting on a stool beside him with small pieces of apple on a plate. She looked a lot better than how I had seen her before, however her hair was still a little messy. I then noticed that she still had my jacket hanging from her shoulders to keep her warm as she sat away from the covers. “Rakki!?” She yelled my name in surprise. Was it perhaps me missing out on class, or just being awake at this time I didn’t know.
I smirked while closing the door behind me. “Hey.” I answered back with a wave to her and her brother. Blair nodded at Atticus, not wanting to talk to much of anyone else but me. Atticus smiled as he greeted us. “Hi! I’m Atticus, Alexis’ older brother!” He said full of life, much like Jayden. “I’m Rakki, and this is Blair.” Atticus grinned at Alexis as we moved closer to his bedside. “My baby sister. I thought you’d never have friends with your obsession of being a strong duelist. I’m so proud of you!” He said with a comical tear in his eye, his hand placed over his heart.
Alexis blushed, getting close to hitting him, but paused remembering he was still injured. She lowered her hand to her plate, and shoved one of the apple slices in his mouth to keep him quiet. “Keep talking bro… See where it will get you.” She said, her face still almost as red as my jacket covering her back. I smirked from the scene before me, it was nice to see Alexis in this new light. I had never seen her acting like that before, it was a piece of her that only her family could bring out.
“How are you feeling?” I asked both of them while sitting opposite of Alexis. Just as either were about to speak, a sudden extra weight was felt on my lap. I glanced down to see Blair, happily scooting her butt against my crotch as she got comfortable. I scowled at her, knowing she was doing it on purpose, enjoying the slight bump appearing in my slacks from response. I coughed to ignore her while focusing back on Atticus and Alexis. “Atticus? Feeling any dizziness or nausea?” I asked with a slightly louder voice to obscure Blair’s giggles.
Atticus observed the dynamic Blair was happily showcasing for a moment, but shook his head in response. “No, not really. I mostly just feel out of the loop now. I mean, my little sister grew up in the blink of an eye.” He chuckled while scratching the back of his head. Alexis slapped him, embarrassingly. She then looked at Blair and I, her frown deepening as she stared through me. I glanced away with a sigh, and that one little gesture immediately told Alexis what she assumed might be.
She bit her lip as she scowled at me, her face turning beet red. “You- You both-” Was all she could utter before I cut her off. “Oh, by the way I borrowed this from you, hope you don’t mind.” I said while taking out Red Eyes Black Dragon from the top of my deck. Atticus raised a brow at me holding his dragon in my hand, but smiled as he pushed the card back towards me. “You are a close friend of Alexis, right?” He asked just to make sure I was who he was thinking. I nodded at him with a frown, unsure of what he was going to do. “I thought so. You’re just like Alexis described.” “Atticus!?” He chuckled while Alexis, still beet red, kept smacking him while glaring daggers at me.
After things calmed down a bit, Atticus continued. “I already have a few extra copies as back ups. Take that as thanks for helping my sister out while I was away.” I blinked a few times in surprise, him just gifting away a super rare card in this world. “You sure?” I asked while looking between him and the card. He nodded with a grin, and used his fingers to silently tell me to get closer. I leaned in and he whispered to me, trying to stop Alexis from hearing what he might say. “But I am still her older brother… Don’t make her cry, eh?”
