Lord: Sequence Master

Chapter 83: Priceless Treasure

"This spirit realm is so small..."

Rosen couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed as he gazed at the minuscule spirit realm, which spanned only a few hundred meters.

"You might have some misunderstanding about the size of spirit realms," explained the Gray Rat Patriarch nonchalantly. "What you see now is small, but if you return this spirit realm to the spirit world, its space will immediately expand to hundreds of square kilometers."

"How is that possible?" Rosen asked, surprised.

"Think of it as the difference between spiritual mass and physical mass," the Gray Rat Patriarch responded. "In the spirit world, which is primarily spiritual, space is more flexible and can be altered more easily. This is why spirit realms can be reset repeatedly and can even create and recreate supernatural creatures."

The Gray Rat Patriarch continued, explaining, "In simple terms, everything inside a spirit realm is like a spiritual illusion. Only the things you take out of the spirit realm are real; everything left inside remains illusory."

Rosen pondered on this, nodding in understanding. It made sense—spirit realms, like the spirit world itself, were primarily spirit-based, where matter played a secondary role. To extract any valuable resources, one needed to use spiritual energy, converting spiritual matter into physical matter.

If someone wanted to fully control a spirit realm, they had to go through a process of separating it from the spirit world, materializing it, and integrating it with their spiritual essence. This would ultimately grant them complete control over the spirit realm, which they could then reintegrate into the spirit world.

While the process sounded simple, it was extremely difficult. The most challenging part was the separation of the realm from the spirit world.

Fortunately for Rosen, the Gray Rat Patriarch had already completed the hardest part. All Rosen had to do now was to integrate the spirit realm into his spiritual essence to claim it.

Following the Gray Rat Patriarch's instructions, Rosen expanded his spiritual sense to cover the entire spirit realm. As the realm transitioned from being spirit-based to matter-based, the spiritual energy inside it diminished.

Rosen began the process of replacing the realm's spiritual energy with his own, absorbing the original energy—thousands of units in total. By the end of the process, the entire realm was infused with his spiritual energy, imprinted with his will.

With a thought, Rosen was ejected from the spirit realm. Before him floated a multi-faceted crystal, about the size of a fist. This crystal was a condensation of the realm's space, and once returned to the spirit world, it would expand into a spirit realm spanning hundreds of kilometers, completely under his control.

Sensing his Divine Domain, Rosen teleported into it and placed the spirit realm crystal into a treasure chest that materialized in the space.

The chest, three feet long and two feet wide, was made of pure gold and was no ordinary container—it was a Sequence 4 supernatural artifact.

The Gray Rat Patriarch jumped onto the chest, fiddling with it for a while before stepping back. "It's unsealed now," he said tiredly.

Rosen eagerly opened the chest, expecting to find mountains of treasure. However, he was surprised to find the chest's space neatly divided into compartments.

"Don't touch these for now," the Gray Rat Patriarch said, pointing to a few compartments on the left. "Those contain my collection of supernatural artifacts, with the highest being Sequence 4. You'll need at least Sequence 6 power to handle them, or the spiritual pollution will be more harmful than beneficial.

"As for the middle compartments, those are resources I need for cultivation up to Sequence 4.

"But everything in the right compartments is yours. You can use them freely."

Rosen turned to the right and frowned.

Artifacts on the left, resources in the middle, and spiritual crystals on the right.

The number of crystals was shockingly low, barely enough to fill a football-sized space.

He picked up a thumb-sized crystal and immediately felt his heart race and palms sweat.

This wasn't an ordinary crystal—it was a high-grade spiritual crystal, a treasure containing 1,000 units of energy. Such crystals, used by Sequences 3 to 1, contained traces of divine energy, making them extremely valuable.

The exchange rate between low- and medium-grade spiritual crystals was ten-to-one, but between medium- and high-grade crystals, it was a hundred-to-one.

Holding 20 high-grade and 100 medium-grade crystals, Rosen quickly calculated that he was holding 30 million units of spiritual energy—an astronomical fortune.

Rosen realized he had grossly underestimated the wealth of a demigod. Even this small portion of the Gray Rat Patriarch's wealth was beyond comprehension.

He stored the high-grade spiritual crystals in his Scavenger Space and decided to keep the medium-grade ones with him to avoid attracting unnecessary attention. These medium-grade crystals would be enough to fund the construction of a high-quality void gallery.

Before leaving Gray Rat City and returning to Blazing Shadow City, Rosen purchased several rats to raise in his Divine Beast Pen—a request from the Gray Rat Patriarch.

As the Rat King, the Gray Rat Patriarch could modify and control ordinary rats. These rats would reproduce rapidly and serve various purposes, from food for supernatural creatures to scout rats capable of gathering intelligence.

Rosen couldn't help but shake his head in sympathy, watching the Patriarch command his new subjects. "Same species, yet treated so differently… These poor rats really drew the short straw, being ruled by such a cruel king."
