Infinite Potential System

Chapter 285: Team Battle At The Peak Of The World

William evaluated the long-haired man that looked like a Magical Beast in human skin. His hair was disheveled like someone that hadn't showered in months, and his brown eyes were wild, flicking back and forth like a predator searching for new prey.

If this is the same Unbreakable Right from the book I read, then this man should have the S-Rank Earth Element.

It was clear from Supreme Left's exchange with Uri that the strength of a peak Cultivator with a Domain was vastly different from a normal Cultivator in the same Realm. For William to face both of them at the same time, it was obvious why the System opted to reward him even if he ran away.

But I have Uri with me. We can do this if we coordinate.

William paid the System two Potential Points to send a mental message to Uri, asking him to handle Supreme Left while he took on Unbreakable Right. The dragon nodded in his direction to acknowledge his suggestion, then prepared to launch another pillar of flames from his mouth.

The time to talk was over. Now, there was nothing to do but fight!

Unbreakable Right raised a wall of Earth to defend against Uri's flames while Supreme Left cast Fireballs in William's direction, but he opened his Fire Domain and redirected the fireballs to fly past, their residual heat not enough to breach William's various Heat Resistances.

He ignored all of Supreme Left's attacks, rushing towards Unbreakable Right that would be a trickier opponent for Uri. It was better to force Supreme Left to waste his Mana on the dragon than to let Unbreakable Right calmly control the situation from behind his tough walls.

William's flight path was interrupted by a series of Earth Spikes that Unbreakable Right launched with his right hand while still maintaining his Earth Wall with the left. The Spikes emitted dangerous auras that forced William to dodge left and right, forcing him to take a few fireballs as a result.

Damn it, they're completely ignoring Uri and focusing on me! William was both impressed and frustrated by the teamwork of his enemies.

While he and Uri had a brief mental conversation, they hardly had to look at each other to know what to do. Supreme Left was probing William's speed, while Unbreakable Right controlled the environment and forced William to take damage whenever possible.

His only advantage was that the fireballs hardly did any damage, healed almost instantly by his active Life Element. William blinked three times to keep track of their Mana, then launched dozens of Water Bolts in quick succession to counter the intense fire.

The Spells clashed in midair, the water instantly evaporated while the fireballs continued on their original path. It was clear that William's Basic Magic was no match for the two who also had S-Rank Affinities but were four, almost five, Cultivation Realms above him.

Uri was in a much better position, his Dragon Race, Innate Fire ability, and A-Rank Affinity synergizing well to place his strength at the same level as his peak Tribulation Transcendence Realm opponents.

He tried to get closer to the pair while spewing flames, but they managed to always position themselves so William and Uri were facing them from the same side, backing up continuously to maintain a certain distance.

William tried to fake out the Cultivators by backing up a little bit, but Unbreakable Right took advantage of this to launch Earth Spikes at Uri's sides, loosening some of the newly regrown scales that were originally lost during the Heavenly Tribulation. Behind the first set of Spikes, another set pierced through the weak points, drawing blood from the enormous dragon.

With just one slight mistake, the two Cultivators had capitalized on it and injured William's Companion Beast. He gritted his teeth in frustration, but kept his mind calm as he evaluated the current situation with his Mind Talent.

They're faster than us, have better teamwork than us, and their Magic is the same or more powerful even though I'm buffing Uri with both the Blessing and Summoning Domains. But it's not hopeless.

William noticed that both of his opponents were supported by Artifacts that helped them to offset the difference in strength. Supreme Left had the Dao Staff, while Unbreakable Right had a seemingly simple belt, both of which glowed intensely when William used the Mana Mode Vision.

I have more Domains than them, and they can't hurt me in a short amount of time. Their best bet is a battle of attrition with me, but...Wait a minute, what about the others?

William looked around for Perion, Vishnal, and the rest of the Pillars of Justice members, but they were nowhere in sight. Without realizing it, he and Uri had drifted dozens of kilometers away from Blue Moon City, and their current position was above the Foam Desert.

That said, the others should still be nearby if they intended to assist Supreme Left. Even if they were behind, it wouldn't take long for Soul Formation Cultivators to catch up, much less Vishnal. Why weren't they here?

William's question was answered by a massive barrier erected in the space within ten kilometers. When he looked at the edges of the barrier, he saw the Pillars of Justice members just outside kneeling on the ground while their Mana was funneled into the barrier.

He felt his control over the Space Element slightly disturbed by an abundance of other Elements, which would make long-distance teleportation impossible while short distances would take more effort than it was worth.

It reminded William of his initial attempts to use long-distance teleportation, when his own Elements would often get in the way and prevent him from stabilizing a portal. Only this time, there was around ten times the amount of Elemental Mana than what William had at his disposal.

It was clear that this was their intention the entire time, to lure him and Uri away from the City, then trap him in this enclosure. Incredible planning, to say the least.

He saw Supreme Left and Unbreakable Right flash smiles at the same time, seemingly showing off their superior expertise, but William wasn't as worried as they thought he was.

There's only one problem with trapping me in a barrier that's full of Mana. You're trapped too!

William didn't bother trying to destroy the barrier the Pillars of Justice members had erected. He saw it as a good thing, since it ensured they wouldn't be getting involved any time soon.

He opened up all of his Basic Domains at the same time, overlapping with the Blessing and Summoning Domains, then used the increased ambient Mana to fuel a series of powerful Spells.

"Nature's Exile!" he called out first as he made a Plant-reinforced Earth Spell that extended multiple pillars of Earth towards his opponents. The Pillars extended further, branching out at lightning speed as the entirety of the area inside the barrier was filled up, limiting Supreme Left and Unbreakable Right's movements.

Unbreakable Right opened up his Earth Domain to counter William's, greatly slowing the speed of the Spell's formation while Supreme Left opened the Fire Domain to evaporate the moisture of the Plant Element.

The Spell was countered, but not without the combined efforts of both of William's opponents. Uri didn't miss this chance and launched a pillar of flames at Unbreakable Right, forcing the man to raise an Earth Wall at the last second.

He had avoided a direct hit, but a sliver of flames spread over the wall and burned some of Unbreakable Right's hair before Supreme Left fully absorbed the Fire Mana into his Domain. The Nature's Exile Spell that had been deprived of moisture was lit on fire, spreading around the barrier and forcing Supreme Left to keep his Domain active for longer to counter the effects.
