Chapter 54: Chapter 46 New allies?

As Dante gazed out of his window. He noticed the first rays of sunlight peeking over the window, painting the sky with a soft orange, cozy glow that gradually showed a clear blue sky as the day went on.

The birds chirped and sang in the distance, signaling the start of a new day, creating a peaceful and temporal atmosphere that transported him to a tranquil state of mind.

Dante's eyes drooped as he let out a heavy sigh. "I guess it's time," His fingers twitched with anxiety as he thought of meeting Mahito's friends. One of his main worries is that the "meeting" turns into either a trap or future enemies. His mind began racing all the possible outcomes.

Despite his concerns, Dante made sure to double-check everything he needed, especially the dagger, which he believed to be effective against Mahito. Only after he used it did his demeanor change. He knew that the dagger had the potential to kill or at least render Mahito useless in battle.

Turning to Sora, I replied to her, "I'll be gone for a while. I hope you have a great life. I won't be coming back anytime soon, but here, take this, consider it a kinda farewell gift." Dante reached for his inventory and took something out. He handed her a cheap artifact that emitted a funny flash. Though it was useless to him, he hoped that it would bring her some amusement and joy.

Dante made his way towards the door just as he was about to step out. Sora's voice suddenly interrupted him, stopping him in his tracks, turning around, He saw Sora standing there till she spoke, "I always wanted to create my own book... You said your name was Raida, right? I'll make sure to include you in my book so I never forget this incredible occurrence!"

With those words said. Finally, Dante departed from the place. He headed towards the forest and waited where they fought, his gaze turned upwards, watching the moon cast its dim light on the ground. Suddenly, he began hearing the sound of sandals walking in the grass and turned to where the sounds came from.

A human stopped by in front of him with four heavy invisible presences beside him. Dante swiftly recognized that this person wasn't your typical Joe.

The human wore a black robe with an air of religion and occultism. As for the semi-invisibles' presences, they felt similar to Mahito, so they are probably cursed spirits according to Dante's judgment.

The human in robes kept a small smile, while the cursed spirits somehow felt bothered by being here. Dante watched warily, with his wings ready to fly at any moment. After all, he didn't completely trust them. Perhaps they already made a plan to capture him. Maybe one of them could fly or stop him from flying.

The breeze passing through the trees filled the dense foliage until someone finally decided to break the silence. It was the human with the sly smile, "Call me Geto. The name doesn't matter much." He said in a smooth, ominous voice, "I was quite astounded when Mahito talked to me about you. At first, I didn't completely believe it. But here you are, the second documented case of someone without cursed energy. Mahito truly brought me to an anomaly." It didn't take a genius to know that there was something darker lurking beneath the surface.

But I was quite surprised about it, "Second?" According to Mahito, I am an amalgamation, and cursed energy seems similar to mana, so if there are only 2 cases counting me... is cursed energy something so common that everyone should have it?

Kenjaku's piercing gaze stayed fixed on the abnormality of Dante as he spoke, his eerie fox-like smile never leaving his lips. "Now, may I know your purpose?" Kenjaku wanted to know what the objective of this anomaly was. Adding an unknown incognita to his equation might easily switch the tides, and this anomaly was no normal incognita. She carried the inverted spear of heaven combined with an unknown power. Having to rearrange his plan for a minor inconvenience was not an acceptable outcome. Taking care of her right now would be the best.

While Kenjaku had thousands of ideas of how this new piece on the board would unfold, Dante was thinking about what to say because a new dilemma started.

Considering the gravity of the situation before him, Dante thought, "I think I got my nose where It shouldn't be, but this is the reason I came to this world, isn't it?"

A bright purple page appeared in front of him.

--------

Join Geto and the cursed spirits, turning yourself into a pawn of his plan. (Help in the capture or death of Satoru Gojo)

Reject the cursed spirits and help the sorcerers. You have the potential to ruin his plan (Escape and tell the sorcerers all the information to prepare against the cursed spirits)

-------

"Mmh..." With his eyes narrowing, Dante's head tilted sideways, contemplating what path he should choose to get the most benefits. He knew that his decision would have far-reaching consequences, and he didn't want to make the wrong one.

Dante stared back at Kenjaku, trying to read his expression as he weighed his options. It was difficult to tell what he was thinking. His face was a totally unreadable mask.

Kenjaku, seeing Dante's troubled expression, Jolted him out of his thoughts with a question, "is there a problem?"

With nonchalance, I replied to Kenjaku, "The thing is... do I really want to be a pawn?" my wings unfolded, showing their majestic blue hue, emanating a sense of pride and strength.

They got a bit serious the moment I did those actions, so I continued, "Mahito told me I should join you because it would be funny. Now, May I know for what purpose I will be used?"

Kenjaku's eyes fixed on me; seeing that I had his attention, I continued, "Mahito mentioned that I should join you. But before I do, I need to know for what purpose you plan to use me. I can't risk becoming just a tool for someone else's."

"Geto" proceeded to explain his plan to attack the sorcerers and the future capture of Satoru Gojo. he didn't have a problem telling this information. There are 5 of them here, and the chance of her winning or even escaping is 0. He already erected a barrier in the zone, but after seeing the inverted spear of heaven, he realized how useless it had become.

Dante, without plot knowledge, couldn't do much, so he bluntly asked the only reason why he came to this place: "Isn't there a problem if I kill sorcerers?"

Geto responded with a crude and raw "No, except for one." It seemed like he had more to ask, and so he did. "But I found it weird. Aren't you human? you don't seem like someone who kills for fun."

I explained, "Technically speaking, I'm not human. I don't hold much empathy against them nor grudges. I can kill humans, but I don't find fun in doing so, except for the strong ones."

Even if Dante didn't know it, this was a lie. He still holds empathy, but right now, for him, this world, this place is just something that will be erased and forgotten after leaving. Nothing will matter.

Dante thought, "I might not stand a chance against the protagonist. After all, he might get a power-up for just fighting me, so I'll go for his companions. They won't have much plot armor... probably." With that in mind, he responded, "Alright, I'm in!"

Kenjaku's eyes flickered with curiosity accompanied by his usual small smile, and he thought to himself, "This is certainly interesting,"

And with that deal, Dante joined Kenjaku, the cursed spirits.

...

(a few hours later)

...

Kenjaku commented in his usual calm and measured voice. "You have the ability to decide whether to enter or not a domain expansion that's curious, to say at least."

I asked, "You call that a domain expansion?" From Dante's perspective, it's just a weird semi-invisible barrier that he can somehow choose to touch or not.

Kenjaku nodded, "Yes, it is almost useless against you, and the inverted spirit of heaven just enhances that. Because you are a special case, you won't participate until the final part. The surprise factor is your biggest strength." While saying that, Kenjaku thought, 'The moment they realize your qualities, you probably turn into the number one threat.'

Dante wasn't sure how to respond. He knew he had abilities beyond what most sorcerers possessed, but he never considered himself a number one threat. "Then what am I supposed to do now?" he asked.

Kenjaku Said, "You are free to use your time however you want, your services won't be required any time soon."

Dante found this great. He will just reap the rewards by picking off the weakened enemies, similar to an assassin. He decided to explore this beach because it looked too childish, it didn't look like the base from the villains, he expected a dark place with spikes, a red sky and a finish with lava or edgy things... Not a beach with childish things like swings and volleyball; heck, there are even thermal waters in the distance.

As Dante walked along the beach, an idea began to form in his head. "Perhaps I could betray them when all of this is finished," he thought as he turned to Mahito, who was beside him. "I came to this place to get stronger, so I'll do that. Want to train with me?"

Authors note

Remember that I refer to Kenjaku as Kenjaku or Geto.

I'm quite busy in real life right now. I gotta find an actual thing to study or something to work on.

ALSO

I think I was too excessive with the details... or maybe not? Who knows.

And... why did I choose the curses as his allies?

Well, just imagine how it would go... If he helped the sorcerers. The only interesting fight would be Kenjaku... and about Sukuna, that is not a fight. It's literally him mopping with Dante.
