Chapter 34: Chapter 29 The Echoes of a Heart That Cannot Beat
"Shit... I'll have to take a 5 minutes off." Daniel grumbled, gritting his teeth while he pressed his wound. The blood stains on his clothing told the severity of the situation.
The injured swordsman took a potion out of the system, accompanied by some surgical items he bought before, in anticipation of situations like this. The potential of bleeding out to death loomed in a corner, and potions might be magical, but they aren't quite cheap.
Ignoring the pain, he cauterized the wound. The process was more methodical than anyone would expect. Daniel learned many things when he was younger, including medical and surgical procedures.
He muttered under his breath, "I'll be more of a hindrance if I go right now..." Daniel layed down on the floor, starting a countdown. As soon as he reached 5 minutes, he would inject adrenaline and more chemicals to help the others, His body is already fucked, so the chemical cocktail won't be much of a problem.

While Daniel had a fair matchup that ended very close, Thalassa was ensnared, having a hard time. What seemed like a calculated risk now became a problematic struggle.
"PULL!" The incantation echoed, exiting from the lips of a girl with vibrant, curly purple hair. The magical constructs emerged, by deduction, revealing her as a mage with a limited mana reserve. Thalassa keenly noted this potential weakness in her opponent.
Her body felt an intense gravitational force pressing her to the ground. It might not threaten her life, but it leaves her susceptible to the enemy companion attacks.
In a split-second, to counteract this, the robot quickly harnessed her Electrokinesis to create a magnetic field around her, allowing her to resist the gravitational pull.
The silent clash of forces transpired near her, a noiseless battle in an unseeable scenario to the naked eye.
When the oppressive gravitational pull dissipated, Thalassa seized the opportunity, discharging her electrokinesis in a powerful shockwave aimed at her enemies.
The gravity manipulator erected a gravity curtain to deflect most of the damage. But the barrier efectivity was dimmed entirely, thanks to Thalassa's control over electricity. Breaking the limit of electricity in the most scientific way possible gave her the upper hand. Tilting the odds in her favor.
"WHY AREN'T YOU GETTING AFFECTED? THAT IS UNFAIR!" indignantly yelled the purple-haired girl. She was furious her main arsenal got neutralized, and worse, she didn't know why. The robot's main ability is to control electricity... maybe she has a secret ability to counteract gravity users.
The cold and calculated voice of the robot, mocked her in hopes that she would make a mistake, "Why should I explain to you? is stupid and ineffective."
The purple-haired girl didn't seem alarmed and just said, "This is still a 2v1. We are at an advantage." This reminded her of the shattering reality. Even if Thalassa rendered almost useless one of the enemies, this was still an unfavorable fight.
Suddenly, one of the automatic systems inside Thalassa activated, "Warning: Toxin levels are getting higher. It is recommended to use Electrostatic Precipitation in the biological parts. Warning corrotion levels are getting higher recommend-"
The gravity manipulator's ally had a toxically sinister trick up her sleeve. Thalassa's internal systems already flagged it. The robot created a countermeasure, but if this toxin worked by a different logic, then it might be useless. She might even accelerate the process.
If she harnesses her electrokinesis to produce 'electrostatic precipitation' to create a barrier of charged particles around her metallic frame to nullify the toxins, then a new problem arises: it is too costly to keep it going.
Prolonging this fight will also be bad. They could take turns to rest and push, making it so she gets tired first, and using a magnetic field requires a lot of energy and concentration. One wrong move could be the end.
As she created a barrier of charged particles around her metallic frame to nullify the toxins. Another gravital anomaly appeared close to her. It seemed like a vortex of gravity trying to imitate a black hole.
She repeated the same process, canceling her attack, but instead of deactivating her electromagnetic field, this time, she amplified it, changing the equations to enhance its potency.
The magnetic field became visible for a fraction. *FLASH* Thalassa used her electricity to create a flashbang, momentarily blinding the enemy for a few seconds.
Right now, her focus has shifted to the toxin player. Gravity is under control, and unless she uses a really strong move, her electromagnetic fields will probably be enough.
The magnetic field got closer to her metallic frame. She quickly devised a plan and used the same logic as a Maglev to propel herself towards the enemy's position. Thalassa was in a do-or-die situation, so she had to use every trick she knew.
Concentrating her mind, she shot a sonic boom from her hands, stunning both players.
Without consideration for energy reserves, she grasped the toxin player, releasing a torrent of volts that fried her from the inside. The charred body crumpled to the ground, neutralizing the immediate threat.
Now, with the main threat taken care of, she quickly went to the second player.
But as she rushed to the enemy position, her sensors captured an ominous mocking voice, "You are truly stupid."
A vortex materialized instantly at her position, completely swallowing her metallic frame. The robot tried to propel out of the way, but the speed of this couldn't compare to the last ones.
The purple-haired girl spoke, "Yes, your ability was tedious and all, but If I input half or a bit more of my reserves, there won't be a problem."
The vortex ended up devouring half of her frame, leaving a macabre scene of wires and blood. The strength of the vortex was such that her legs didn't exist anymore. The infinite void ended up devouring them.
The purple-haired girl gloated, her attention shifting to her blood-stained clothes. Revealing her true twisted nature, "Oh... You can bleed, what a weird robot, anyway now finally that bitch is gone," She sneered, expressing gratitude for assistance in eliminating the nuisance "that fuckin skank really bothered me. Thanks for helping me kill her. Our contract didn't allow me to inflict 'direct' damage."
In the midst of the gloating, Thalassa, weakened and beaten, managed a faint retort, "Since when?"
A cruel chuckle escaped her lips. The girl mocked her delusions, "Wait! Did you really expect to win this fight? Wow, how delusional."
She didn't even bother to turn her gaze downwards. Her mind was more worried about her clothes getting dirty. But as she casually took new clothes out of the system, her feet encountered something wet and cold. Quickly recognizing it.
Thalassa's voice, feeble yet determined, whispered, harmonizing with the dramatic symphony in the background. "I never said electricity is my only power... It's only the one the system gave me."
Before her enemy could even react, Thalassa used the water on the floor like the main conductor, hitting both of them with an enormous electrical charge.
The girl fell charcoaled to the floor. As for Thalassa, she might have resistance to electricity, but her inside was completely open, letting the huge number of volts pass through her. Even if it wasn't the electricity, the heat it generated burned a few components.
Thalassa now waited for a force of nature to reclaim her. The remnants of her mechanical body were scorched, battered, and barely holding together. The acrid scent of burnt circuits lingered in the air.
One of the automatic systems inside her prompted WARNING: Energy levels reached a critical point. WARNING: Vital levels reached a critical point. If there isn't any treatment, the prognosticated time of death will be-
As she clung to the last vestiges of her mind, the robot's LEDS slowly lost their light. Her optics kept flickering, casting a dim glow that mirrored the fading flame of her fleeting life. Her auditory sensors followed, hoping to save every ounce of energy she could.
As all the unnecessary functions shut down, a cascade of bittersweet memories flooded her circuits. An old montage of battles fought, cherished moments, and celebrations with her best friend, complemented by a singular yearning for Su Yuan's safety.
The fragmented voice of the robot echoed through the corroded chambers of her mind "I... hope... She... Is... Fine..." Thalassa's fading consciousness whispered her final wishes for Su Yuan's safety. Even in her last moments, she selflessly thought of others.
And with a final glitch in her system, Thalassa's dimming glow succumbed to the inexorable darkness, leaving behind a melancholic silence that echoed the weight of her mechanical heart.
The once lively robot, was now reduced to fragments of code and fragmented memories, may she find relief on the other side, free from the uneasiness that once engulfed her.
