Chapter 211: INIIDF-Chapter 208 Not Good
"Then... we're off too."
The Weatheria inhabitants, the Boa sisters, and the elderly crew members exchanged farewells.
Sandersonia's fatigue was swept away by Liam using the Paw-Paw Fruit to eject it, and thanks to the natural restoration powers of Zoan ability users, her stamina had already fully recovered. Standing on the edge of the small Skypiea, she completely transformed into her animal form— a green-scaled, twin-winged snake.
"Mari!" She called, lifting her snake-like green-haired head high.
Her younger sister eagerly scrambled onto her back and held on tightly.
"Hold on!"
With a light hiss, the winged serpent spread its wings and soared out of the clouds, descending rapidly toward the Calm Belt below.
Kuma squatted, pressing one hand against the pure white island cloud beneath him. Rising to his feet, he nodded at Dragon, then delivered two swift slaps to both him and the Snake Princess. In an instant, the two disappeared with a faint sound of displacement.
Under the astonished gazes of the group of scientists, Kuma gripped his Bible in one hand, flicked the air with the other, and vanished into thin air himself.
---
"Ahhhhhh!"
A single black silhouette plummeted from the sky, rapidly falling from an altitude of ten thousand meters. Even someone as brave, powerful, and proud as Hancock couldn't help but let out a piercing scream.
Under normal circumstances, she wouldn't have lost her composure even in such danger.
But this was no ordinary circumstance.
She was still affected by that scoundrel Giorno's snake venom, leaving her unable to control her body.
'Damn it!'
'How is that guy using the Medusa Mythical Zoan for the first time and already so proficient with the venom's effects?'
Her body was unresponsive.
Freefalling at high speed.
The intense rush of air accompanied by the sound of wind tearing past filled her ears.
Hancock began to close her eyes. Her heart, however, started to calm.
The wind howled upward.
Then it roared.
Then it faded into silence.
No longer hearing the wind, Hancock felt weightless. She mistakenly thought she was suspended like a petal floating in the sea—alone, blooming, unafraid.
'That guy pushed me down here. He wouldn't just let me…'
In her darkened perception, from behind— or was it above?—two shadows suddenly appeared. They grew closer with each flicker, bringing back the sound of rushing wind as they reached her side.
Liam's voice cut through the rushing air. "You're smiling? Aren't you afraid of falling to your death?"
"Who's smi—wū wa…" Hancock opened her mouth to retort, only to have the wind rush in, distorting her words into something that sounded like crying or… whining.
Embarrassed, she clamped her mouth shut and squinted, turning her head toward Liam.
How unfair—how could he speak so clearly?!
Hancock glared at him, her eyes locked on his snake-like hair. If only she could make contact with his blood, she could dispel the venom!
Robin, nestled in Liam's arms, simply closed her eyes entirely.
On Liam's neck, a cluster of petals withered away, revealing a pair of striking dark green eyes. They quietly observed Hancock.
The three of them continued their descent together.
The wind roared endlessly.
6,000 meters…
5,000 meters…
3,000 meters…
No one spoke—neither Hancock, Liam, nor Robin.
1,000 meters…
The Calm Belt's serene, mirror-like blue sea came clearly into view below them.
There were no islands directly beneath them.
Amazon Lily Island was visible on the horizon, but it was slightly off their current trajectory.
500 meters… 400 meters… 300 meters…
Still, no one broke the silence as the trio fell like meteors.
200 meters… 100 meters…
'Are we really going to crash and die like this?' Hancock's black hair whipped wildly in the wind as she blinked, her heart pounding.
80 meters… 50 meters…
Robin peeked downward. The endless sea filled her vision, so close it seemed as though they would plunge into it at any moment.
40 meters… 30 meters…
The humid scent of seawater was already in the air...
''Twenty meters!''
''Ten meters!''
"Are we really going to die like this?" Liam muttered to himself. Both the girl in his arms, Robin, and the woman next to him, Hancock, immediately turned to look at him.
''Five meters!''
Beneath the rapidly approaching ocean surface, vague shadows of massive Sea Kings swam just below.
'Am I going to die?' Hancock wondered.
'Am I going to die?' Robin thought.
''One meter!''
The pitch-black Stand that had partially remained outside Liam's body stretched out two flame-patterned arms and swiftly tapped the shoulders of all three in turn.
'Whoosh...'
The surface of the Calm Belt remained as calm as ever, barely disturbed save for a faint ripple—proof that three people who had been plummeting like meteors had vanished just before impact.
---
At the shoreline of Amazon Lily Island, where Haredas had previously docked the weather ship— their starting point for the trip to the small Skypiea— two massive paw-shaped craters marked the ground.
Dragon, cloaked in a wide mantle, stood with his head lowered, gazing into the eyes of the Snake Princess. His voice was deep and steady. "Are you sure you won't reconsider?"
The Snake Princess gently touched his rough cheek, smiling. "You don't understand— I try hundreds, thousands of times every day to convince myself otherwise."
"And the result has never changed?"
"It has never changed," She whispered.
Dragon fell silent again. This time, however, his silence felt different. Before, it stemmed from disinterest in speaking; now, it was laden with words he knew would ultimately serve no purpose.
Nearby, the towering Bartholomew Kuma, holding his Bible, stood with his back to them, gazing at the tranquil sea.
Suddenly, three figures streaked across the water's surface like comets, landing with a crash beside Dragon and the Snake Princess. As Liam, Robin, and Hancock hit the ground, massive bursts of paw-shaped energy exploded beneath them, cushioning their fall and leaving three fresh craters.
Kuma, Dragon, and the Snake Princess all turned toward the trio, their expressions tinged with surprise.
Liam tugged at his half-concealed Stand, which had been following his movements. Laughing heartily, he exclaimed, "What a thrill! I really thought I was done for this time! I was even about to apologize to these two— but it looks like I wouldn't have made it in time anyway!"
Robin, still catching her breath, looked down at the three new paw-shaped craters and then at the similar ones beneath Dragon and the Snake Princess.
Hancock, her expression shaken, remained rigid in place. Her chest did not heave with breath, and her posture was unnaturally stiff.
"Still poisoned, huh?" Liam commented, surprised. The venom from his snake-like hair was far more sinister than physical petrification, as it turned hearts to stone and made victims puppets.
Over time, its toxicity weakened, gradually reducing the victim's enslavement. Snapping his fingers, he said, "Alright, if you're fine, take a couple of steps."
Hancock's fiery, indignant gaze nearly set Liam's eyebrows aflame, but her body obediently took two steps forward.
Oddly enough, her steps were quite elegant.
"Not bad!" Liam teased, clicking his tongue in approval. "Judging by the liveliness in your eyes, it looks like the venom's effects are fading. Why the glare? I told you— I only let you experience it firsthand because you didn't believe me! Keep glaring, and..." He pulled his hand back from where it was hovering near her mouth. "...next time, it won't be you biting me—it'll be me biting you!"
A strand of black hair danced toward Hancock's flushed ear, transforming into a small black snake with sharp fangs bared.
Hancock's glare simmered with resentment, but her gaze shifted nervously past Liam to Jolyne, who stood behind him, curiously observing her. Hastily, Hancock looked away.
'Terrifying!' She had almost stubbornly gone against Liam again, risking another round of snake venom-induced control.
'Hancock!!!' she mentally berated herself. 'How could you? You're Boa Hancock, the future Empress of Kuja! This is unacceptable! Though... I suppose... it wasn't entirely unpleasant... No! It's absolutely unacceptable!!!'
The conflicted Kuja maiden, her long black hair swaying behind her, sulked as she realized she had already regained full mobility and was walking toward the gates of Kuja City.
Turning her head, she noticed Jolyne walking beside her, gesturing toward her lips.
Hancock suddenly tasted the faint tang of blood. Flicking her tongue, she realized it was her own.
"You were grinding your teeth earlier," Robin remarked, "and you nearly crushed Giorno's finger in your bite."
