Chapter 4: Gwen's shame, MJ's love and Felicia's unseemly proposal
Allen didn't want to prolong the farewell, so he only gave a couple of farewell messages to his viewers and closed the stream.
Allen didn't notice that the number of viewers had gone from a hundred to over a thousand due to the fight, although most of these new viewers only came to the stream because a clip of the fight shared by an Allen follower had gone viral.
Some of them would stay because they liked Allen's content, but most had only come for the excitement of the fight and wouldn't return.
The hallways were empty. Only a few students could be seen here and there. Most of the students were in the cafeteria due to the fight scandal.
Allen closed the system interface and focused on the girl holding his hand.
Allen felt it was quite strange that no teacher had shown up to stop the fight, but what he didn't know was that Harry Osborn had intervened with the power of money to ensure that no one would interrupt. Of course, he never even considered that Flash would lose.
Gwen stopped and turned, and then after a sigh, she approached Allen with a narrowed look. Gwen lightly tapped Allen's shoulder, visibly annoyed.
"You're a fool, Allen..."
Allen raised his hands in a surrendering gesture, but his eyes were laughing. "Not as much as you, Gwen. You're the lady who does what's right no matter the consequences."
"In my case, I plan the pros and cons of my actions, then my next step," Gwen said, tucking her hair behind her ear and looking away with a hint of embarrassment. She knew what Allen said was true, but she wouldn't admit it. She had her pride.
Allen thought her tsundere attitude was cute, so he didn't tease her and decided to change the subject. "By the way, Gwen, thanks for getting me out of that. I wouldn't have known how to handle that awkward situation."
"You're welcome," Gwen said with a smile, noticing the slight sweat on Allen's face, and she handed him a handkerchief.
"Thanks... again heh " Allen thanked her.
Gwen also smiled, but then she noticed something strange and turned her gaze toward the cafeteria. "That's odd, just a moment ago, you could hear everyone's voices."
Allen wiped the sweat from his forehead with the handkerchief and looked towards the cafeteria as well. "I don't want to know what happened afterward. I doubt Flash will say anything about the fight. It would be embarrassing for him to admit he lost. It must be the teachers who finally arrived."
Allen would be lying if he said this didn't bother him. It was always the same , whenever some student was a victim of bullies, the teachers disappeared and only showed up after everything was over. Still, it didn't affect him personally, only Flash.
When everything was over and just after Allen had left, the teachers entered, shouting and restoring order, as if to reaffirm their authority.
...
Harry Osborn looked at Mary Jane, who had indeed gone to fetch the teachers. She was very upset because they were in a closed-door meeting and had refused to come immediately.
MJ took out her phone, where she had an open purple application. MJ sighed in relief, added one more comment, and closed the app with a smile.
At the same time, Harry approached her, wearing a confident smile and a dandy attitude. His tone was soft, and he forced his voice to be slightly deeper, and his tone was warm but subtly affectionate. It was easy to see that Harry Osborn liked the girl.
"Harry? I'm sorry, I'm a bit busy. Can I help you with something?" Mary Jane responded without being affected by Harry's aura.
"MJ, don't say that..." Harry's smile vanished, and he looked noticeably troubled. "I've been asking you out for months, and you always give me the same response."
Mary Jane felt the gaze of some students focusing on them. She was annoyed by Harry's lack of discretion.
Was he trying to use social pressure to make her accept a date?
Many women, especially introverts, did not want to be in the public eye and knew that publicly rejecting the handsome, wealthy millionaire would cause them trouble. In situations like these, many girls would simply accept the date to get out of the situation.
However, Harry misinterpreted MJ's personality, confusing her as being shy with being reserved.
Mary Jane felt cornered and dropped her politeness towards Harry. "If you want to know, Harry, I know you like me. I'd be a fool not to notice."
"MJ?" Harry's smile disappeared, replaced by a fearful look. He didn't know this Mary Jane.
But Mary Jane didn't give him an out and continued "I know you send flowers to my house, and I know the gifts from secret admirers that arrive in my mailbox are from you."
"Mary?..." Harry felt a chill and tried to interrupt Mary Jane, but she didn't stop.
"Sorry, Harry, I don't like you. I know you're handsome and rich, but I can't force myself to like you, nor do I want to. I don't have room in my heart for you, so please give me space. You're overbearing, Harry."
The whole place fell into silence. Even the flies stopped buzzing, and the birds fell silent. In front of more than a hundred students and teachers, Harry Osborn had been brutally rejected by Mary Jane. She was not rude or angry with him at any point, but for some reason, her rejection was much harder to hear.
People didn't laugh or make fun of Harry Osborn. On the contrary, many girls felt sorry for him, and many boys felt a pang in their hearts because they could feel the trauma of such a rejection.
Even if it was unintentional, Mary Jane had made Harry Osborn look like a persistent stalker and a pathetic, desperate simp for her attention. At the same time, she didn't scorn him for it, she simply told him no, without hatred or annoyance. But there was something in her words, and that was indifference.
After almost a year of courting the girl, Harry couldn't even make her hate him. To Mary Jane Watson, he was nothing more than a stranger.
Harry's lips trembled with frustration. "Why? After all this time, why don't you even look at me?" Harry's voice began to break and shifted from frustration and helplessness to anger. His face contorted with irritation, and he couldn't contain himself. "Tell me why, Mary Jane! Tell me why I'm not deserving of you!"
Mary Jane listened to his words in silence, showing no change in her expression. Her blue eyes stared intently at the handsome young Osborn, but quickly, the image of another man appeared, and she shook her head.
"You're every girl's dream, Harry, you're rich and handsome. I won't say you're talented, but you're a capable man. If I had been the girl from before, the one who was broken by her problems and just wanted to escape from everything, I might have chosen you," Mary Jane said, clutching her phone close to her chest, smiling tenderly. "But that Mary Jane met someone who stood by her and kept her from falling apart, and now, even though I can only watch from afar, I'd like to be with him."
"Does that mean..." Harry stepped back and almost lost his balance hearing every word from Mary Jane.
She was smiling beautifully, but Harry knew that smile wasn't directed at him. "That's right, I won't hide it. There's someone I love more than I ever thought I could, and it's not you. I'm sorry, Harry."
Mary Jane turned and paid no more attention to young Osborn. She ignored everyone and headed for the cafeteria's exit. MJ never wanted it to end like this, but Harry had forced her into a corner, and she could only brutally destroy the illusion he had.
Mary Jane thought she should have done this a long time ago, but she cared so little about Harry Osborn that she always ended up forgetting him.
The men lowered their heads as she walked by, as if they were afraid of the redhead, which was natural, as she had just destroyed a man.
Not far away, a camera with a lens silently recorded everything. Allen had left a camera in the cafeteria to record and find out if he had gotten himself into trouble.
Unexpectedly, this led to recording in 4k Ultra HD which would later become one of the most popular "fallen soldier" memes on the internet.
...
Gwen tightly held Allen's cheeks. "You are unexpectedly reckless, Mr. Walker."
Allen teased while smiling, "Maybe in your mind, but it wouldn't be the first time Miss Gwen got into trouble."
This attitude between them just shows how close they are.
Gwen clicked her tongue and let go of Allen. "That's why I say you're reckless. Flash and his idiot friends wouldn't do anything to me out of fear of my father," Gwen said, shaking her head before looking at Allen with concern.
Allen stepped back, pretending to be disgusted. "Ugh, using the power of the police to your advantage, Miss Stacy? That's not very heroic of you."
Gwen broke her serious face and laughed. "Hehe, I can't do anything, but they don't know that. They're fools who have the mistaken idea that the police are some kind of mafia."
Both of them looked at each other in silence and then laughed. Afterward, both Allen and Gwen began to walk aimlessly.
*Allen's POV*
I still remember the first time we met.
Before me stood a beautiful girl with short, blonde hair wearing a headband while dressed in a white sweater and gray skirt.
She came to the library asking for books on quantum physics. I'm proud of myself for studying enough not to embarrass myself in front of her, and I could recommend several books.
"Allen, what do you plan to do?" Gwen asked as she leaned forward.
"Hm?"
"As cool as you acted and as much damage as you did to Flash's ego, he and his idiot friends will look for you," Gwen frowned with concern again.
I couldn't help but laugh and burst out, "Haha, Gwen, we live in a civilized society where we can resort to dialogue..."
Gwen narrowed her eyes in my direction. "You're changing schools, aren't you?"
"Am I leaving school? Do you consider me a coward, Gwen?" I paused for a moment as Gwen's beautiful eyes accused me. "I'm practically in another state looking for an apartment..."
"Ah, I knew it," Gwen sighed with a slightly melancholic look. "Maybe I can do something, but I doubt any man who has been humiliated like Flash will rest until he gets revenge."
I noticed how she became depressed immediately, and I felt a pang in my chest.
"Gwen... will you miss me?" I don't know why I asked that, but I felt nervous after saying it.
Gwen's face turned red, but she immediately frowned. "Who's missing you? I'm just annoyed that I don't have anyone to talk to in the library anymore!"
"That's sad. I thought we had something special!" I said, holding my wounded heart.
[The host should be honest; she should be too, or they'll regret it later.]
Gwen huffed in response before pinching my arm not too strongly.
"Idiot," Gwen said in a low voice and walked away, but she soon stopped a few steps ahead without looking back. "I'll see if I can think of something... until then, don't disappear."
My heart raced for a moment as I watched Gwen's back.
"Response?!" Gwen glanced back with annoyance, still with her face red.
"Understood, and thank you, Gwen," I replied with a smile and a warm feeling in my chest. There are only two women who have made me feel this way, my Aunt Natasha and her.
Gwen opened her eyes in surprise and then quickly left. "S-See you, Allen!"
I looked at her back, wondering if I had a chance with her. I'd be lying if I said I didn't like Gwen, but I hadn't considered her romantically until now. I truly felt how much she cared about me, and it touched my heart.
"Young love is so beautiful..." a voice sounded next to me, with a playful and mocking tone. I turned to see a girl with long, snow-white hair, looking at me playfully with green eyes. She was standing against the wall.
Just by looking at her for a moment, I got the sense that she was a girl with a natural seductive charm. Just by looking at her voluptuous figure, many would be drooling. Her voice was like a siren's spell, and her attitude and movements exuded feminine allure. Although she normally acted cold towards others, right now, I felt like I had met a future femme fatale.
Her name is Felicia Hardy, and she is one of the three most beautiful girls in the school, along with Gwen.
"Hello," I replied with a greeting, not understanding why this beautiful girl was talking to me for no apparent reason.
Of course, with Gwen, it's understandable that she's close to me; she and I have known each other for over a year. But I don't know Felicia at all.
"Don't worry, Allen Walker, I'm only interested in one thing about you. Do you mind if I touch you?" Felicia said as she approached me. Her feminine scent entered my nostrils even more, making me numb and unable to react.
