I Reincarnated as a Shinai

Stasis and Vinete were confused why the Assassin want to strike the shadow instead of the real body.

It is something that they have never seen before at all.

However, considering the many unknown powers of Arcana and even Curses of the Dark Elves, Stasis immediately felt danger as he immediately backed away to move his shadow away from the Dark Elf's sword. 

"Aacck!"

Unfortunately, his movement wasn't enough. The Dark Elf still hit a part of Stasis' shadow and although it didn't result in any external injuries, the young man felt pain within his body…

It was as if his spirit was the one that was hit instead of his shadow…

"Tsk… What kind of magic is this?" Vinete noticed what happened to Stasis.

Stasis has the strongest Spiritual Energy among the Half-Imps and his strength is even boosted by his Bloodlust and Sword Aura.

However, he was still affected by that slash on his shadow. 

"Haha! Try to dodge it again. If you don't, you'll really be my next Sentient Arcana!" The Dark Elf said as he suddenly vanished again. 

Luckily, it seems to be unable to attack while in that form. It has to return to its original state to hold the dagger and strike them.

This gave them an opportunity to counter or perhaps dodge the attack.

This continued for a few exchanges but it can't continue like this. They need to do something about this person's ability. 

'Ugh… No wonder Master Reiji categorized this guy as a First-Class… Just getting hit on your shadow and you'll cry in pain… Was it this guy who captured my Master together with that Half-Step Deity?' 

Stasis thought as he knows that his master is incredibly strong. He can only think that his master was defeated by some kind of unusual power like this Assassin's ability to suppress people by hitting their shadows.

"Leave it to me…"

As Stasis and Vinete were unable to think of what to do against the Shadow-Morphing Dark Elf, Luoyang, the Taichi Sword, suddenly burst with light creating a space for them!

"I can't last for too long… Deal with him now!"

Luoyang timed his move when the Assassin was about to strike Stasis's shadow again. This young man has already been hit about four times and he's already reaching his limit. 

Even Vinete has to use her Phantom Dash and Silent Steps to assist him when being sneak attacked by the enemy.

Stasis and Vinete both have Epic-Rank Arcana after all. They might be facing a strong Arcanist with mysterious powers but the skills of the Awakened Arcana are also something that the Dark Elf had never seen before. 

This allowed them to prolong the battle until Luoyang gather enough power to create a burst of light removing most of the shadows and forcefully transforming the Assassin to its original state. 

"You--!"

Even the Dark Elf was surprised by Luoyang's sudden interruption. Not only that, it seems that the Dark Elf was also hurt after being forced to return to his flesh form.

"You're dead!"

Vinete used her Arcana's Shadow Cloak ability to cover herself from the brilliance caused by Luoyang's ability.

On the other hand, Stasis was unable to attack since he was affected by the light and couldn't target the Dark Elf. Instead of randomly attacking, he decided to let Vinete handle it since he knows the ability of her Epic Phantom Dagger Arcana.

The Phantom Dagger is an Awakened Arcana that has four Abilities. The number might be lesser compared to his Detachable Sword but the great thing about this was the cooldown of its skills!

It has Phantom Dash that can be used three times in succession, Invisible Weapon that can be done as long as you have enough Spiritual Energy, Silent Steps that has 10 minutes of duration and can be used again after an hour, and finally, the Shadow Cloak that covers the Arcanist with enormous power that can boost her senses, agility, strength, and even intimidates the enemy.

With such a powerful Arcana, Stasis was confident that Vinete wouldn't miss such an opportunity even if they didn't plan this ahead. 

Crack! Boom!

The sound of shattering metal and explosion occurred as the burst light subsided. 

The room became dark again but this time, the First-Class Dark Elf was no longer standing proudly in front of them.

The Assassin was now heavily injured as his body was laying on the shattered floor. 

Cough! Cough!

The Dark Elf was still alive. However, his left arm was no longer and his chest had also caved in. It seems that Vinete also landed a terrifying kick after slicing the man's arm. 

"Y-you d-dare to this to me…"

The Dark Elf struggled to complete his words as he looked deep hatred to Vinete.

"Why not? You guys deserve this…" Vinete said as she glanced at her unmoving master.

It seems that after Reiji communicated with them, this Dark Elf realized what he did and put their master asleep using those mysterious chains. 

After all, it doesn't make sense that their Master Reiji was unable to speak with them now that they have gotten a lot closer. 

"Ugh… Our King will not forgive you… If we did not manage to deliver the Sentient Arcana to him. You and your race will bear his wrath. Gahaha!"

The Dark Elf laughed and said his last words before a sudden concentration of Spiritual Energy alarmed the three. 

"He's self-destructing!"

Luoyang shouted as the Sentient Arcana immediately circulated its energy to cover the Dark Elf.

A yin and yang force from the Taichi Sword suddenly erupted and pushed the Dark Elf away from them and lift it up in the sky.

Boom!

Like a huge firework, the Dark Elf's body was destroyed creating such a beautiful scene above the village.

"Ugh…" Stasis and Vinete were still affected by the shockwave and were disoriented.

Unfortunately, not one of them has the ability to stop the explosion from happening at such a moment's notice.. Luckily, Luoyang has an incredible reaction speed and dealt with it properly.
